Awsome videos tony!
Very nice Tony. I Didnt realise how many real hard hits there was over that weekend. How did any of us come out of that weekend with mobile robots?
Funnily enough I did
its not surprising seeing the fights that my 2mm titanium was dented so severly. Great fights. Just wait till the tag champs
You all set for tag champs or u got minor repairs to do? Savage evo needs quite a bit of work.

Grant/James any chance of all the placings from the first round being posted?
Remember back when i said Tiny Toon was going to win? I was kinda right wasnt I ?
Alex says bring on the spinners. :proud:
Mines not working i cant what a shame. Not that im scared honest
Hey Tom,
I looked over Drumroll closely this weekend, dunno why the power cut out after your hit but you've successfully bent the 15mm Hardox tooth  8)
Not majorly but you can definetly see the warp in it - well done :)
Drumroll's good to go for the tag champs technically, but I'm gonna rebuild/strengthen a couple of areas on it. Not sure if it'll be brushless at the tag champs, its scary on quarter-power and already faster than the Speed 900s but the controller and motor get hot quite easily so gonna have to have some serious coolage in there to cope
hey, jamie with that brushless i gave you you will need around 7/1 reduction give ya around 6krpm then, because on 24v the motor will be doing 42,000rpm lol, the current gearing you have on it the drum will be going 10,500rpm would be cool but might be abit too fast
Yeah I'll definetly need to up the ratio as the current 2.5:1 is too low for it. The most I can go however is 4.8:1 running at 19.2V as the smallest pulley is 10-tooth and its 48-tooth that's on the drum. Don't think I'll ever have it running at full speed as it could make driving almost impossible and the teeth probably just wouldn't engage.
Actually a quick calculation puts the top speed at 6600rpm not inlcuding friction losses etc on that 4.8:1 ratio so I might be able to crank it up full occasionally. Will certainly need to play about with/test it and find out what suits. Should make for interesting viewing though 8) ( <- I got myself a new favourite emoticon)
Bah! everyones going brushless. Soon ill be the only one left with a brushed motor spinner, Unless... Ummmm maybe next year eh?
Don't worry, if the Speed 900s leave Drumroll, I intend on connecting them up to some other form of spinning metal
I think we can both testify to their effectiveness after last weekend
Drumroll is a far superior machine, The fight shouldnt have gone the way it did.
After the tag champs i cant see there been much left of Savage Evo, Kenny and Mouldy are going to destroy everything in site i think.
Did anybody film Tiny Toon v Ironside please?
That sounds like Omega.Quote:

Just got some of robots in the pits - not as many as I normally do, I put that down to videoing more this time though:

It is omega. now Relentless. Its too small. no room for a decent speedo.
James the BBC say that they will sort me out a disc of the filming from the studio, if its turns up i will send you a copy.
Heres a vid of some of Savage Evos hits from the event.

Hi All just picked the Trophy up and all i can say its BEAUTYFULL ;)
Clive - I havnt recieved anything yet?
John - Look after it, we dont want it back with all the previous winners scratched off and Beauty written all over it!!!!
Your PM has just come through clive - thats no problem!
Congrats everyone - this is the longest ever live event thread :D
Yeah I was bored and on seeing how long this thread was, remembered something about the 2006 UK champs and the 2004 Winter Tour being the longest threads previously. So I went back to the old forum to check (told you I was bored! :lame:) and saw that this one beats them both easily. And now I've just added another, albeit pointless, post to it.
Apologies that the time it has taken you to read this post could have been spent doing something more worthwhile
Jamie its fine, I'm very hungover so the post made me forget that fact for a few minutes
Just wondered if anybody has a picture of the trophy presentation ceremony they could email me please? also did the bbc ever send you the footage we did clive?
We are looking into the possiblities for next year at the moment of hosting another big event, maybe the UK champs. keep your eyes peeled for info!
Hi James, no luck with the BBC,I kept phoning and e-mailing but no reply from the guy. Will send you any pics i have.
