Haha, Dan took that photo at last year's Champs so I sent it to Kane. Thought it would make a good banner.
lol How good is that :)!
Doing a bit more work on it today. Designing the single tooth rim for the head and Im working on the arm mechanism. Its coming together
Well with the uk champs over its time to get back in the work shop, in fact I've been there most nights since the event!
Thanks to Sam Smith for the brushless motor for predator. I'm cracking on with designing the new head mount for the disc at the moment. Should be good for a test spin in the next few weeks!
In the mean time... I'm continuing with my crusher project (not many of you will know I had one). Il be working on both robots now until they are both finished. The crusher will be my real competition machine and was always designed to replace Venom and push the boundries just a little. Seeing Kennys new machine in action really inspired me to get cracking on it again.
Made a fair bit of progress this week :) today we was the first time we fired the basic system up and performed some pressure testing, everything worked perfectly which was fantastic to see. Pictures to come :)
working on the ram today. All the bottom half is complete, just making the piston and cylinder top then its off for pressure testing! We have tried to make the ram as light as possible so we dont know if it will stand up to the pressures or not so fingers crossed!

So here are the first few pics of the hydraulic valve being tested :)
We have created a manifold for the custom valve and I have added large ports just so it will fit KanFlu's test rig. Big thank you to Andy Kane and the team at KanFlu for all there time and help with this project!
Notice the serial number on the valve? Its the only one of its kind. Thank you very much to Moog for sponsoring this custom 2 direction, proportional micro valve. Its smaller than a 50p and will allow us to speed control the arm up to 3000psi. It will be buried deep inside the machine because there are no replacements for it... spinners please dont break it!
Project - Crusher
All ready for the first pressure test! Thank you to Sun Hydraulics for sponsoring the pressure relief valve.
All works brilliantly, was great to see the proportional control of the valve.

Here im cutting out the piston and ram top for my custom made ram from 7000 series ali.
