This is an ideal opportunity to have a competition running along side show events. So M2 would be entered into any competition + show fights as required.
Ripper, Stealth, Bulldog Breed, Ewe 2 (S), TAURUS (C), Judge Shred, Leveller, Behemoth, Thor, Mighty mouse, Veloceripper, Mute, Big Nipper (C), Scorpion, Merlin(S), Spearhead, Tanto, Serrano (C), Gman (S), Revolution (C)+(S)!!!, Air, M2 (C) + (S), Kronic the Wedgehog (S), Tuscan (S), Mayhem, Storm 2, Dantomkia, Tomohawk, Corkscrew, St Agro, Ceros

From the audience point of view theres going to be little difference between the Show and Competition formats - when they see three heavyweights go into the arena the majority wont much care if the result affects the outcome of some long term competition as long as the combat is enjoyable.
So, how much difference would there be for the roboteers involved?
It was mentioned at the tour meeting that Show bouts would involve less damage than Competition bouts but is this true? How many of us have fine enough control over our weapons to decide whether to damage an opponent or not? As far as I can see, probably only the crushers. Certainly not us. :)
One difference I can see is that in a competitive match a stacked or otherwise immobilised robot wouldnt be helped out as they are in a friendly match. This could mean shorter bouts but also less damage, and if the shorter bouts is a problem then there could be some sort of indicator to say the competitive part of the bout is over, freeing the roboteers to carry on for entertainment.
A problem I can see with the exclusively show approach is that the final event becomes just the last event in the series. Wed be losing the opportunity for the events to build to a climax. As I said above this wouldnt much affect the audiences for the earlier events but for the audiences at this last event I think it would generate a degree of added interest plus, as a bonus, creating more of a buzz amongst the roboteers.
Anyway, thats enough of my opinions. If youve not guessed by now Id vote for: Spearhead (C)
Ripper, Stealth, Bulldog Breed, Ewe 2 (S), Taurus (C), Judge Shred, Leveller, Behemoth, Thor, Mighty mouse, Veloceripper, Mute, Big Nipper (C), Scorpion, Merlin(S), SPEARHEAD (C), Tanto, Serrano (C), Gman (S), Revolution (C)+(S)!!!, Air, M2 (C) + (S), Kronic the Wedgehog (S), Tuscan (S), Mayhem, Storm 2, Dantomkia, Tomohawk, Corkscrew, St Agro, Ceros

Totally agree with Richards coments - I think that there will be almost no damage difference with show fights - and if the 10 second rule is used when one is imobolised then the fight can continue as a showcase.
I know I will take more damage constantly showing how many times AIR can hit the roof with us in five minutes.
I dont think that anyone is looking for cut-throat competition, but just a bit of friendly rivalry to liven things up - cant understand the objections. make commentry a lot more interesting as well.

Come on guys You are all on about weather it will be a competition or a show for the Heavyweights. What about those of use who have only got featherweights, we have to face all weapon types even in whiteboard fights (some people dont know when to stop). So how many Feathers do you think will be left by the end of the tour. We have had to rebuild at least 2 of our feathers after just about every event we have been to. So all you Featherweght drivers what do you want Competition or Show.

Currently got one feather flipper in bits, needs drive motors fixing, One feather disc without electronics and bits for a feather Axe. If one or more ever get back into a working state again then Id want them in a competion but I think your right (looking at past event) it doesnt seem to make a difference between if it was a show.

Once thing that remains a priority is to entertain the paying audience. Show fights can entertain as can competition fights but neither can all of the time. Competition fights frequently end up one on one and often fail to go the distance meaning a short burst of action after a potentially long period of loading the fight. The pit is a problem (as well as an asset) but if Jonno can ensure it can be raised to make sure a competition fight can continue as show fight then great.
There are certain differences between competition and show fights, e.g. competition could result in more tatics, less melees & shorter fights = lesser audience enjoyment. On the other hand, competition fights can be more aggressive, the fight has purpose (make sure the audience knows how the fight features in the competition as they are only seeing a snapshot of it) and it also gives an extra edge for the roboteers.
I dont know about others but I drive differently between competition and play, play is practice, competition is putting the practice into action.
Its a perspective.
