Mechanical Noise - Series 1
I am going to go for the 55kg spinner (which i think is crunch) i am going to focus om it anyway and hopfuly my repeted smacks with the disc will dislodge something, the armour shouldnt stand up for long agaisnt my disc anyway. I will also attack the flipper (which i think is called going) as even though my flipper is front hinged i should probably be able to get it out of the arena as it only weights 45kg. I will be warry of the robot i am not attacking because it is a cluster robot.

GC was the surprise package of the NSBFL, to be honest ill be surprised if i win this, Disco is a good bot.
No point in staying together, that usually words if im going to get shoved against the wall from the off, i can get one away from the impact. Really theres not a lot i can do other than be a royal pain in the neck. If i can get it towards the pit, i need to end the fight early, not going to suicide though, ill take my lumps :p

Heh, ive been reading up the past posts, i like how everyone, including myself but excluding Martijn, seems to rate GCs chances pretty low, i guess the NSBFL experience was good for something afterall :p
Still, theres always got to be one team thats fairly pessimistic :p

I do agree Chris, its always nice to have a team digging itself into the underdog-position, especially when that underdog turns out to be fairly succesful :proud:, at least its better than an overconfident team losing every battle they can :proud:
hmz, I actually wanted to write one hell of a heat final today to celebrate my 19th birthday (w00t), but with all the celebrations over here I havent found any time to do so

Heh, well GC has experience being the underdog, means the pressure is off and they can have fun getting as far as they can even if that means being decimated :p

Just thought, why do i need to seperate? Probably should do the whole fight as one bot, keep the spinner away in case it needs to seperate towards the end.
I will seperate about half way through, maybe a bit later, if it goes that long, trying to save some flips, again, i want to try and end it early, the extra weight may help at the start, hopefully Going doesnt get incapacitated before i finally do split. If it doesnt look to be going well from the start, ill split then also.

Disco 5 vs Going Crunch

The tension raises in the two control booths, and the two machines rush away from their starting positions. It€™s Going Crunch (still in one piece :proud:) that reaches the arena centre first, with Disco following soon. It€™s funny to see how both Heat C finalists are armed with a flipper/disc combo. Out of the two, Chris chooses to aim his flipper towards the opponent, whereas Martyn obviously wants to deal some good hits with his disc. Going Crunch turns around the side of Disco to find a way to the wedge€™s underbelly, but finds it hard to get past those spring-held skirts. As a matter of fact, those skirts slow down Going Crunch enough for Martyn to turn his machine around and give the clusterbot a good smack with the disc! Swung backwards upon impact, Chris finds himself left with a rather ugly slice in his titanium front. Going Crunch is out on revenge and now tries to put its flipper in effect in a less subtle manner. Going Crunch collides in Disco€™s front, and before the vertical disc does what it does best, Chris fires his flipper and sends Disco flying, just like himself actually, due to the disc hitting Going Crunch€™ front once more. While Going Crunch is on his wheels again, Disco is in bad need for a srimech. Luckily though, Disco happens to have one of those, and uses it before Going Crunch comes driving in. Due to the well timed self-right Martyn is able to dodge the clusterbot€™s assault, and even ends up with his disc aiming for Going Crunch€™ side! Without hesitation Martyn attacks the unprotected side of Going Crunch. With sheer force the disc hits Going Crunch€™ side, and not only does this leave some ugly scars in the titanium, it even tips the vapour over as if it was fighting a flipper. With his opponent stuck on its back, Martyn comes in again to do some more damage, righting Going Crunch in the process. Chris wants to put an end to this torturing and accelerates flipper forwards. But much to everyone€™s surprise, it€™s only Going that is moving! His clusterbot has just split up, without Chris€™ manual interference! Chris thinks fast and drives Crunch away from danger as well, still unknowing what has just happened (a later inspection would proof that Disco has hit exactly where the two robots were linked, demolishing the linking system completely). Now facing two opponents instead of one, both having a battered back (since the middle-side of the entire clusterbot happens to be the back-corner of the individual pieces :proud:), Martyn chooses to go after Crunch. Chris knows Crunch can never handle Disco on its own and sends Going to chase Disco. Martyn on the other hand knows it€™s very dangerous to concentrate on only one robot while fighting a clusterbot, and suddenly reverses to deal with Going! With no time to response Going is taken on top of Disco€™s long wedge, all the way to the arena wall. Crunch bravely gives chase, but Disco is already firing its front-hinged flipper, levitating the 45 kg flipper against the arena wall, and almost over it, before it crashes down on top of the wedge again. Crunch is closing in quickly in a desperate attempt to save its buddy, but Martyn tries another flip. When Crunch€™ disc collides into the disc of Disco, Going has already ended up on top of the arena wall, and falls down on the camera track. The fight isn€™t over though, since Going is only 45 % of Going Crunch, and the 55 kg Crunch is swung away after the reckless collision, ending up on its back. Martyn wants to finish this match once and for all, and goes after the poor Crunch. It€™s almost unfair seeing the 100 kg Disco taking on the 55 kg Crunch, who wasn€™t given the time to self-right when Disco comes in again, using his vertical disc to obliterate him even further. Yet another smack is dealt, and Crunch lays on its back again with his wheels and disc spinning in the air, but the srimech seemingly inactive due to all the smacking!

Hmm... Ill team up with whoever calls it at first. Unless they both team up on me. =S
If Steve teams up with me, then Ill just go ahead and smack SUNCUST as much as I can. Hes really boxy, so I can make some nice hits on there. He has 1.2 cm titanium, but I think my bar can get through that at 2500 RPM. I think I could take out the crusher on here with ease, to be honest.
If SUNCUST teams up with me, then Ill try to be more direct with my hits. Try to hit more on his sides than straight on, and dont let him near my wheels. I might be able to knock out the crusher, but itd be harder. His 0.5mm Hardox could prove to be some complications.
Dont let either of them near my wheels at all. Team up with whomever accepts my offer first. =)
