JFT a Cluster Bot on its own after 1 fight:mrgreen:
Congratulations to everybody at Robo Challenge for a great event, we had a superb weekend.
Well done to LJ on his win with Beauty 2.
Will 2nd with Aftershock and Tom with Savage Evo 3rd.You all drove well and deserve your placings.
Finally congratulations to Alex, the Annihilator champion.
Ive just got back from the event, well done to Beauty for winning the main competition, and to Aftershock for becoming 2nd and Savage Pro for finnishing 3rd and not forgetting local robot Tiny Toon for winning the annihilator. I have to say it was a pity that Pug didnt perform well in the arena as it had a weak drive. Best highlights for me had to be the fight between Stripper and Beauty when Jonnos disc sheared completely off after coming into contact with Beautys armour, Tiny Toon beating Cyberon and Wedgie in the same fight, Japanese Fighting Tortoise being sheared in half after being hit by 360 or DB5. I was also driving Kishar in the comp where the disc sadly wasnt working. Seeing Razer in real life doing a demonstration was also really excellent (I finally got to meet Ian Lewis :proud:). I know Pug never performed a lot during the show but Id like to thank Alex, David and John for taking their time to help me, but most of all, thanks to all at Robochallenge for putting on a really good event hope to see u all at Wigan.
Cheers
Liam
Were back after a great event, with lots of great people. Many congrats to LJ for the win, Will for second and Tom for third.
Many thanks to the Robochallenge boys for putting it on. Personal thanks to Ed for taking Japanese Fighting Tortoise apart so I didnt have to, to Will for helping me out, to Clive and Wendy for letting me drive some of the Toon army, and to Jamie, George, Alex, Team Big Nipper, Tom and everyone else for making it such a pleasant and enjoyable weekend.
Congrats to John and Little John (...please dont be too insufferable :proud:) for the win, and to Will for second, Tom for third, and Alex and Clive &co. for the annihilator. Seems to have been a good show by all accounts, lots of spinning things and flipping things and action and damage :)

Great event, the hardox floor certainly helped the spinners. Well done John, Will & Tom for 1st to 3rd places. Unfortunatly I dont think weve herd the last of it from the Lears :). Certainly wouldnt like to have been a judge for the final.
Little Spinner only managed to carry on with a speed controller from 360 even if it was 50/50 if it started spinning, so thanks Dave for letting us borrow it and getting another 4 fights in today.
Thanks again to all the Robochallange Crew and to the Centres Staff for being so helpfull letting us use thier workshop for some repairs.
Nearly forgot, thanks Clive and Wendy for the Sat night social, know my dad appricated watching the boxing and hope the neighbours didnt mind too much :)

Jonnos disc sheared completely off after coming into contact with Beautys armour
Well done to everyone - just wish I could have been there but it is a very very long way to travel to get back for David to go to school tomorrow.
Jonnos spinner was ace!
Congrats to all the winners, to John for bringing the spare cells (Ill send you an email about the cash), to Clive for letting me use the battleswitch and a big thanks to all the robochallenge guys for an awesome event.

John
First off Id like to say a big well done to Beauty 2 for winning the 2009 UK championships (again!). This time it wasnt so easy!!
Some excellent fights and some unexpected outcomes made the championship extremely unpredictable and exciting - with the spinners lasting almost all the way through the competition it looks like they really are starting to progress!
Well done to all the runners up, and to Alex for winning the annihilator.
Its great to see so many spinners being developed for the few events we hold, it means alot to us that you guys trust us to keep full combat events going!
Our arena shows the sign of good combat - this is the first event we will need to make some repairs, and luckily not to the new floor.
A big thanks goes out to Clive and Wendy for all their hard work before the event to get us on the BBC and all the extra bits of advertising they have done for us, its much appreciated! Thankyou.
And also to ALK Engineering for sponsoring the event with kennys excellent cnc machining and the Astroflight charger for 1st place. Great Job!
Well done everyone - you guys made it a championship to remember!
Beauty won again aye? This is going to do wonders for LJs confidence XD. Either way congratz. Sounds like you had to work for that win.
Looking forward to seeing the videos as they upload to you tube.
On my end we did very well and won our two important matches.
First game on Sataday went well with a 5-0 win.
Then after the game we had 30 minutes to recover for our match against Scunthorpe for the league. They scored the first goal but we managed to equalize 10 minutes later. We scored two goals ahead of them and they simply gave up and it ended 7-1. Shame as it started off as a very close match but when your two goals down I guess you loose the point of playing.
I was nackered and still tired. But we celebrated well after staying in the pub past 10 still in our hockey kit.
Sorry again for not coming but will hopefully see you when I see you. Either robots live or roaming robots.
Hi guys,
Well done to Beauty again... your so jammy !! and big hard luck to will.... the peoples choice lol
Well Stripper had an eventful weekend, what i thought would be a one hit wonder... then enjoy a relaxing weekend didnt quite go to plan.
Whod have thought it would still be working for the final mellee of the weekend, and is still driving now !! :)
Funniest moment - The disc coming off and the base still fighting.... ( not such a good idea to use my mag as a battering ram )
Hardest moment - spending 3 hours putting the gearbox together and proving people wrong that it would fight again !
Most rewarding moment - damaging ploughbot :)
Most annoying moment - not getting to spin up in the Annihilator final against Tiny Toon GRRR... ( just a battery pack went down )
Got the spinner bug now, Stripper EVO is already planned, just need the coopers to do an event sooner than planned so i can build it.
It was nice to see some great spinners, and they are certainly getting better !
Well done to the crew, enjoyable weekend, and the Toons for their hospitality !!
Looking forward to seeing the fights on You Tube.
John

:)
Thanks for a great event and well done to Beauty for winning again, the final was a really good fight and I was surprised that it lasted the full 3 minutes. Well done to tiny toon also for winning the annihilator!
Also a huge thank you to everyone who helped me out over the weekend especially Andy who helped to weld aftershock back together and for keeping it gassed up throughout. Special thanks to Clive Jonathan Pierce Brown for his gripping commentary for mum and dad.
Finally thanks to Tessa (Alexs mum) for driving the 300 miles each way to take me there.
Well done to everyone again and see you all at Burgess Hill
I should be at uni just now but it was a long weekend so I opted to stay in bed at home this morning :)
What an awesome event that was! A big thank you to the Coopers and their hard-working crew for hosting what was, yet again, a top class championship! The whole weekend was great fun from start to finish.
We all keep saying this time will be different but we were all wrong again - Beauty 2 won! :lame:
Seriously though, well done John and LJ. One day may your domination of Robochallenge events end! But congratulations until then :)
(and thanks for XP)
Well done to Will for powering all the way to the final and claiming 2nd place. Calling it close would be an understatement but it fought well all throughout the weekend and put on a good show.
Congrats also to Tom with Savage Evo - thats one nasty robot! Caught my drum with a sweet hit in the 3rd-place-playoff and pulled it out of its mount :)
Not looked at it closely yet but is most likely fixable. Well done though for a great showing!
So Drumroll finished 4th in what was a better showing than I could have imagined for only its second event with the new weapon setup. Drive was a bit erratic at times (honest, I opened the pit because I wanted to drive into it, I swear) and the roll cage failed epically when it mattered most, but its overall performance made me very happy and determined to reach just that little bit higher at the next competition.
All the spinners, new and existing, put on a great show and looked awesome in such an excellent arena. Heres hoping the domination of the spinny massy things is approaching :)
Thanks again to everyone for a fantastic weekend. Photos should hopefully be up sometime this week, and fingers crossed for videos within the fortnight.
Jamie
Oh yeah, well done also to Alex for winning the Annihilator with Tiny Toon and to Clive and Wendy for your hospitality on the Saturday night - hope you enjoyed the haggis :)

If anyone is interested, in that first charge from JFT into DB5, he got the wheel and cut my motor in half. My own fault really! After that, it was just, er, cosmetic damage, ha.

What was worst most damage at the weekend? Hornet 2 breaking Dragon Strike?
hornet 2 vs satantix?
hornet 2 vs looney toon?
hornet 2 vs tiberius?
hornet 2 vs beauty 3?
.......
Im seeing a pattern here
stripper v Beauty3 was good
Oh DB5 killing JFT. I was just thinking of damage that left the other robot unable to compete for the rest of the weekend. I did slight cosmetic damage to some robots. 360 give DB5 a right crack too.
U still did most damage Gary, Still the king of the spinners. youv been doing it a while tho :p Hornet was very impressive at the weekend cant wait to see it in action again.
great vids, i liked the new db5!, how do they drive ls3 so smoothly, id be all over the place, i mean with is the front lol
lol thanks Tom. I dont think Id say Im king of the spinners, but king of the vericals? I can roll with that :)
I think the most impressive damage actually has to have come from 360 when it hit DB5s disc which was incidentally the disc I used to have on hornet before I took the second one i got made and cut the tooth off. 12mm hardox completely warped!
Well in antweights we have awards for most destructive and most destroyed, and I think Most destructive would go to either Savage or 360, and most destroyed to either MMM, JFT or Satanix, with DB5 a noticeable side note :)
Yes Gary, but I am the first to leave a mark on 360, which I am pleased with. 360 will improve im sure needs a few more events to get reliable. Must admit that I like taking out JFT, but Dave L is a good sport, I think we are even now. Adrain its the same old DB5 just switched things around a bit and put a big disk on. Sorry to John Bell the disks career was short lived.
A big thanks to RC, a really good weekend shame I had to leave early. Sorry for not saying goodbye to everyone got home with only about 10 mins to spare before having to dash out again.
Also thanks to Clive, Wendy and Alex for looking after everyone so well on Saturday.
Congrats to the winners, LJ and Alex, as well as Will and Tom. Must say the not going to Rebel, I was much impressed with Drumroll, keep it up for next year Jamie, a spinner has to win one year.
im desperate to see vids of savage evo!!!
Bah! 360s a whimp! Well done to the winners (LJ wheres my half of the prize money :)?) A few robots suprised me, Savage and Aftershock i dont think would of been on anybodys list for the final 4. Award for most entertaining has to go to Jonno with stipper, although Alpha gets the award for most over the top failure, all that smoke because of the power light!! Big thank you to Wendy and Clive for saturday night, invading their house to watch the boxing!
Good event, can we have it closer to home next time tho?!
What was the fish tank looking thing you put ontop of Alpha?
Best arena exit has to be Bullseye sent to the outside by 4 4 toon with Lawrie driving or savage throwing its self out of the arena when it was fighting Alpha and stiff breeze
The fish tank/green house/conservatory was to stop Venom grabbing hold of me, but he whimped out of the fight
Ed, Ill build another one for you to destroy again at the next one. Lol.
I never expected Bullseye to go over the fence when I drove 4 4 Toon. I just pressed forwards and...lol.
