Axeon to go next
After this is finished I was hoping to start Season 3.0, but I've no idea how many people actually bother around this section of the site anymore/would be interested in entering?
I'd be more than bothered.
btw, this tourney is coming along fantastically :proud:

cool, that's 2 :) and I'd assume Joey, Kody, Martijn, AJ etc would all enter... ? I'd like to know a vague number. Looking around I doubt I'd get 16 again, but is 12 a viable number is it going to have to be lowered again?
You can count me in Lewis :) might not have the time to upgrade my vapourbots but I'll certainly enter with the ones I've got.
As for tactics, erm...same as last time please :P with the exception that I would like to, in the time honoured tradition of teamups that hardly ever work as intended, offer Andy a teamup against Back To Rock.
I'll enter, I'm just horrible at updating my bots nowadays. :P :)
Back to Rock III vs. Still Hurting vs. Axeon 4.0
I will accept Joey's offer and team-up on Back to Rock III. Between us we can probably cause some damage to that 7mm Titanium armour, and then I will try to get it down the pit.
I'm definitely up for Season 3.0 as well! :)

Another fight, another step closer to the Annihilation final! The three machines that make this bout are quick to begin and it immediately appears as if the seeded Back to Rock III is underfire here. Still Hurting quickly has that thick vertical spinning disc up to speed and is rounding on the Season 2.0 veteran, who has rammed underneath the side of Axeon 4.0! Martijn€™s circular saw grinds against the base of the Dantomkia/Thor lovechild bot, but doesn€™t do any damage as the 6WD hulking behemoth of Back to Rock drives it across the arena and into the spike strip! However, Joey sees this as an opportunity to attack and races in, slamming into the rear of Back to Rock III, tearing a massive gash in the rear armour! The crowd watches, stunned by this brutal onslaught so early in the match. The impact caused Axeon 4.0 to be jolted off BTR€™s scoop and sideways onto the arena floor, placing Andy at a perfect side on position to bring over his axe and cause some more damage to Back to Rock III! The meaty weapon pounds down onto the titanium lid of it€™s adversary a few times before Martijn can reverse out of danger, now with a severely buckled top as well as a damaged rear panel. However, all the internal workings appear to be fine as BTR€™s movement across the arena floor is not impaired in any way, and Martijn makes this clear with a reverse attack into the side of Still Hurting, catching Joey unawares and shoving his tall machine across the arena and into the spike strip! The crowd are loving this courageous comeback from Back to Rock and they cheer on the Dutch machine as it holds Still Hurting pinned against the wall while turning slightly to face the oncoming attack from Axeon 4.0.
Back to Rock waits until Axeon is just out of axe range and then rams in on the attack, slipping the front lifting plates underneath the chisels of the monocoque death machine and slowly lifting it up into the air as it rams it across the Annihilation Stadium. However, the rear corners of Axeon stick into the ground and with the axe flailing Andy€™s robot is flipped over in the centre of the arena. It is quick to self-right, but now drives in underneath the raised lifter of Back to Rock III and slams Martijn into the spike strip, not being able to use the axe effectively now as it is too far underneath. Still Hurting turns with the disc back up to speed now and slams into the back panel of the seeded machine, ripping pieces of the damaged armour plate right off the robot and sending it over the barrier to land on the camera tracks! Martijn looks on as his machine is now left with exposed electronics and attempts to escape from this predicament by turning to attack Still Hurting with it€™s armoured front, but Axeon drives underneath the side again and pushes Back to Rock onto the killsaws, which spin it around and throw it onto its side with a smattering of sparks! It bounces onto its back, but in comes Still Hurting with the disc again and slams into the exposed rear, and with the disc spinning upwards it begins to rip off the base armour! BTR€™s lifter turns it over, but into the disc of Still Hurting, which sends it rolling back right over onto its wheels! Back to Rock is in a very bad way now though, with base and rear armour all ripped up. It€™s opponents aren€™t letting up either, as Axeon moves in again, pinning Back to Rock against the wall with the front chisels and swinging its axe over, ratcheting up hits with extreme power and causing the top armour of BTR to look like... well... something of a ditch. All in all it€™s held up spectacularly well to these attacks. Despite the damage, a lesser armoured robot would be in a smouldering pile of junk right now, but BTR is still moving.
It€™s a sluggish and unaggressive movement, showing us now that BTR has begun to sustain serious internal damage, but the Dutch bot isn€™t finished just yet. Martijn drives over to the pit release button and bumps into it before turning to meet Still Hurting again, who whacks into the front scoop with a dangerous sounding smack! Sparks fly upwards like a demented firework and BTR is left with a horrific wound down the front, leaving the lifter hanging rather limply. While Still Hurting€™s disc isn€™t spinning Martijn pushes forward, using his superior drivetrain to push Team Picus€™ entry slowly backwards across the arena floor towards the pit, but Joey isn€™t to be defeated by the broken machine and turns sideways to hit the side of BTR with his thwack spikes. Axeon wants a piece of the action too and drives at the other of Back to Rock, slickly driving up to the other side of BTR from where it can hammer the titanium lid, causing it even more huge dents and now the top armour is looking like it might cave in completely. There€™s no movement from Back to Rock anymore and Still Hurting is spinning up one final time for the death knell. That is, if Axeon hasn€™t already sounded it. Martijn looks on rather sadly as the crowd chant menacingly for the demise of Back to Rock, as Joey lurches in for one final bloody onslaught, ripping off a side skirt from the blue machine and taking part of the side panel with it in one easy move, also throwing the Dutch machine up and over onto its sorry back. A sad end for the ranked machine in this annihilator, which it had been a favourite to win, but it just couldn€™t survive the ugly team up of two devastating weapons.
