Rather horrendous first round fight all things considered...
Im still sticking to my tactics posted earlier, provided Frank is. If my fur does gum up Terror Gears disc, then thats great...itll give me something else to attack. Obviously avoid getting pushed around. Also obviously avoid catching fire UNLESS it looks like Im going to lose, or after the CEASE has been called. Then, what the hey, I might as well see if theres a flame pit around.

ROUND 1
Black Panther Queen VS CLAWDIUS DECIMUS MURDEROUS (2) VS Infusion
Oh bugger. Anyone for a team-up? :lame:
Against Black Panther Queen, aim for the corners of the skirts, slip under and clamp the axe. Use my superior pushing power to dump it in the Pit.
Against Infusion, smack into it rear-first to stop the spinner. Twirl round, slip underneath, clamp on and pit.
Ill team up. Infusion is not really on my christmas card list per say...
All right! This is it, the last heat, and I€™m gonna write the first two fights! RIGHT NOW!
Heat P
Round 1 Battle 1
Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2) vs. Infusion vs. Black Panther Queen
Representing Steven McGregor and Team Braveheart is our tournament runner-up! It€™s our very own: Clawdius Decimus Murderous! A formidable wedge with small box section and high rear wedge, it€™s icy claw, 3000psi, the wedge extender, and wedge side spears work together to give its opponents many things to worry about, including holes. :proud: Skirts again cover the sides and rear, and ground clearance is virtually 0mm all around. 5mm hardox is the armour story, and its S28-300 give it plenty of push, but its so-so manoeuvrability can do it in. Will he get past the silver medal?
C&BT1: Chomped down on GigaByte Evilution, fed Axe-O-Lotl to itself, and pitted ArchAngel of the Abyss in Heat D. It went on to immobilize Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus in the Quarter-Finals, and then upset Orka MK4 in the Semis. And then the Final came, and by the closest hair, he lost to Salamander III, the champ.
Representing Aaron Knight and Team Disctructive Technologies: Infusion! No Betas here, this is a solid bot. :proud: Using technology from Team Whyachi€™s Warrior SKF, its 28kg spinning rim gives its front wedge a Kinetic Boost from top speed of 12mph to 25mph. This will certainly be enough to ram opponents into submission. The spinning rim itself does quite nice damage. :proud: C40-500 power Infusion€™s drive and its ground clearance (7.5 at the rim and sides, 0mm at the front) is the same inverted. Stop the ring, however, and it€™s not really that tough.
C&BT1: Happily tore through Spawn Again in Heat G€™s Round 1, but next round got upset by Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus when Die-Ceratops got it cornered in a CPZ and Ancalagon tore its rim up.
Representing Alex Holt and Team DoomForAll: Black Panther Queen! It€™s one mean kitty. :proud: Its Bosch motors give it a top speed of 24mph, and its Bigger Brother-style flipper and Terrorhurtz-style axe combination will certainly hurt a lot of enemies. It also has skirts, making it mostly invulnerable to other wedges. It€™s shaped like Beta, so the skirts touch at corners and are pretty solid. The armour...is 5mm aluminium boron carbide, not quite that good but 2inches of titanium foam behind the flipper will help withstand hits. Pushing power is also a problem, though.
C&BT1: Did not enter.

Kicking off the final heat! Clawdius and BPQ converge upon Infusion, who starts spinning up his rim. We€™re treated to a second for both Clawdius and BPQ charging straight towards Infusion, and then Infusion suddenly blasts right towards...Clawdius! The wedge of Infusion actually gets under Clawdius€™ wedge extender, and ultimately completely under Clawdius! Steve braces for the impact as Infusion gives the wall a treat. WHAM! Clawdius is smacked against it and bounces away like a rag doll. :proud: Add to that, now he€™s on his side. BPQ comes in from behind, and stops short, wary of the spinning rim. Infusion turns to him instead, and that€™s when Alex goes for it. Infusion rushes at him, and again Aaron is successful, but Alex brings down his bot€™s axe: WHACK! The top of Infusion is smacked but amazingly, absolutely no damage is caused. Aaron grins unpleasantly at Alex beside him, before taking Black Panther Queen to the wall like Clawdius. WHAM! Clawdius self-rights as BPQ imitates the 2nd seed, bouncing away and landing right on his back. Infusion moves towards him with the rim, as BPQ self-rights, and the rear skirt gets it!
CRASH!!!
Say goodbye to the main body, rear skirt! Gone, flung across the arena, and lands near Tira-san, who runs over it just because she can. :proud: Back to the fight...BPQ again charges Infusion, who manages to get out of the away before a WHAM happens...ooh, too late, Clawdius takes it out of his hands! He€™s got Infusion from the side! He takes him to the wall - AUGH, Infusion falls sideways off the wedge...the spears didn€™t seem to help here.
CRASH!
Ooh, a sneaky hit to Clawdius€™ side but it€™s rather ineffective against the 5mm hardox of the silver medal winner, and Steve intends to make him pay! Of course, he can€™t intend anything when Infusion is getting away from him. BPQ comes in now and tackles Infusion, who gets it in the rim, and is stopped, and just avoids another charge from Clawdius. Ah, the rim is back up to speed, pleasing Mr. Knight. Clawdius makes the suicide dive, going right towards Infusion...who spins around, and backs off. Oh wait, he€™s backing up, not off, for he€™s charging Clawdius again! Whoa! Such force is used! Clawdius is again foiled in a wedge penetration and gets taken...into BPQ! WHAM! Clawdius is slammed into Alex€™s bot and topples onto it, the claw slightly hooked around the axe. Infusion quickly turns and smacks BPQ€™s side with the rim.
CRASH!!!
Another skirt gone. Percentage of winning decreased. Yep. BPQ hardly moves from the impact due to Clawdius stuck on him, but the srimechs work to push Clawdius off of BPQ. Of course, that gives Infusion the chance to spin up his rim again, and it€™s at full tilt by the time Clawdius is finally upright. BPQ backs away from Clawdius, as Infusion comes in with the rim, and manages to strike Clawdius€™ own side skirt.
CRASH!!!
Ooh. Clawdius appears to be tougher than BPQ because the skirt took the impact like nobody€™s business, and remains firm. :proud: Aaron frowns, and turns to point the wedge at Clawdius...and Alex attacks! BPQ shoves his flipper in, tackling Infusion€™s side! FLIP! Infusion topples, going over and onto his back! WHAM! Infusion is slammed against the wall! Down comes the axe! WHACK! Hit withstood, but here comes a bigger threat: Clawdius! The wedge gets under Infusion€™s front, finally, and the claw sinks down...why are they letting Infusion€™s rim spin up? :proud: Alex seems to realize this, and flips Infusion against the wall.
CRASH!
It works against them, as Infusion smashes his rim against the wall and is spun away before Clawdius can get his claw in! And guess what? Infusion endured the hit and is spinning the rim up again! Steve facepalms, as this clearly isn€™t going the way he wanted it to. Of course, Alex feels similarly, but BPQ ploughs on, smacking into the front of Infusion...and fails again. WHACK! The axe hits Infusion again, hardly affecting it, as BPQ is brought to the wall and WHAM! A wince from Alex is all that€™s needed to explain the hit, and BPQ is inverted. Infusion moves in again, and smacks BPQ€™s side as it self-rights, hitting it at an awkward angle.
CRASH!!!
The 5mm aluminium boron carbide proves NOT to be resilient at all, being torn up almost instantly on contact, not to mention that he€™s been prevented from righting himself! Unfortunately Infusion can€™t continue his attack due to an interference from Clawdius who interferes, and moves towards Infusion aggressively. Infusion backs up again, prepared to ram Clawdius, but Clawdius catches up pretty quickly, actually. Aaron suddenly turns his bot around, and Clawdius drives right into the rim!
CRASH!
A hit, but a glancing one at that. What€™s notable is that the hit has bounced Infusion sideways off of Clawdius, and pointing right at his side! It€™s too bad that he fails to slide under the skirt of Clawdius, though, and the said Clawdius turns towards him. BPQ has now righted himself and makes a beeline towards Infusion€™s side. Aaron notices this and backs Infusion away from Clawdius, but BPQ keeps on coming. So...Infusion turns around to hit him with that gorgeous rim. :proud:
CRASH!!!
Titanium proves to be more reliable than aluminium boron carbide, as the flipper stands up to that quite nicely.
10...9...8...7...
Clawdius barges in, smacks into Infusion€™s side, and carries it to the wall! WHAM! What a hit! Infusion gets a taste of his own medicine!
6...5...4...
Infusion backs off again...but Clawdius catches up and gets under him again...WHAM! Into another wall!
3...2...1...
BPQ is moving rather slowly...maybe that last hit did something after all...Clawdius sinks the down into the Infusion he€™s captured, but...
CEASE!

Round 1 Battle 2
Terror Gear 3 vs. The Crashing Bore vs. Spring-BOK!
Representing Anthony Politzi and Team Hitmen: Terror Gear 3! Let€™s start out by saying it€™s got 8mm titanium armour. Drive is powered by four Perm 032s @ 24v, achieving 26mph. Its front hinged wedges are joined by one sheet of metal to help its 15kg drum (also powered by Perm 032s, only two) hit things. :proud: It also has side skirts and is fully invertible. Apparently it also has a double-edged thwacker at the rear, and the ground clearance there is 3mm...
C&BT1: Mother Of All Bricks: IE rammed it to hell in Heat B Round 1.
Representing Frank Goacher and Team Bored: The Crashing Bore! This is one of the three oldest vapourbots ever, but of course he€™s not gonna let you know that. :proud: Box with wedge, it screams, with a 10mm extension at the front which goes flat along the ground, so it should get under anything, plus side and rear skirts. 6mm titanium and a 4mm polycarbonate laminate is the armour here. And it has 3 weapons, the first being a Mousetrap-style blade powered by an Etek. It€™s shaped like ^^^^^^^ so it can strike in many places and cause more damage. It also has a drill that comes out of a hole in the wedge to drill through trapped opponents, and the third set of weapons are 20cm long spikes at the rear, wedge-like, but mostly used for stability. The drive is powered by a single Etek giving it 12mph top speed, but the manoeuvrability is questionable.
C&BT1: Destroyed completely by Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3.1 in Round 1 of Heat C.
Representing Christopher Mason and Team Dinowarrior is the last new bot to fight in this entire tournament: Spring-BOK! Basically, think Firestorm with a launch pad instead of a flipper and you€™ve got it. :proud: The armour is 8mm titanium, with 2mm orange fur. It€™s got side srimechs as well, just to avoid it getting stuck on its side. More Magmotors for this creation, and it€™s going at 12mph, with a 2WD. A police siren will sound from inside the bot as a back-up plan to make bots think they€™re about to get the book, and run off, but it probably won€™t work. :proud: It€™s flammable, so that will make for some great fun...and it€™s untested but it has experience? Blimey...
C&BT1: Did not enter.

Say hello to the last Round 1 fight of The Crash and Burn Tournament 2. :proud: The Crashing Bore ominously sidles out of his spot, to be set upon by Spring-BOK immediately. TG3 completely the food chain by attacking Spring-BOK in turn, and the drum smacks it from behind!
CRASH!
Good hit, and the fur flies, but that 8mm is stubborn and is holding you out, Terror Gear 3. :proud: The Crashing Bore launches itself at the very temporarily-stunned Spring-BOK and clamps upon it with the blade. CLANG! The trap smacks it! Ooh, Frankie€™s got €™em. :proud: No damage, but no problem - Spring-BOK can€™t get away. Tony decides to help Frank do away with this one, and marches in the drum again.
CRASH!
More fur again, but the result is the same as the previous blow: no visible damage to the 8mm titanium. Ooh...can you hear the drill going to work on Spring-BOK€™s armour? BZZT! TG3 takes a hit from the arena saws! And the drum doesn€™t appear to be clogged up one bit, though you can see the odd bit of fur stuck on the teeth. :proud: The Crashing Bore takes Spring-BOK to the flame pit! Now THIS is what we wanted to see! :proud: FWOOOOM! Ah, yes, I think that about does it for Spring-BOK. Roasty, roasty, indeed. :proud: TG3 backs into the pit release button, opening it...and The Watcher bumps The Crashing Bore to release his captive.
CRASH!!!
HEY! What was that for?! TG3 has smacked into The Watcher, and unbelievably, sent him flying onto his back! The Crashing Bore decides that enough is enough, and goes towards the pit, and ends the rather short final Round 1 match, as a burnt, tattered, and obviously crest-fallen Spring-BOK enters the pit of oblivion.
CEASE!
Spring-BOK, fated for the flames, and fated for the pit.

Tactics, predictions, comments, thoughts, and a new USB cable please. :lame:
The robot Spring-BOK may be new, but it is actually a remake of Fluffitor, a robot that had tonnes of experience previously. Just in case that bit confused you.
Tactics are to rush and feed to house robots.
By the way, the drive isnt a single Etek. As far as I know its impossible to drive using just one motor.
Unless you use car style steering.
Have there ever been any decent vapours with car steering? Sounds like a good challenge...

O Really?
Killerhurtz had car steering and had a good battle record in Battlebots.
HEAT P
ROUND 2
CLAWDIUS DECIMUS MURDEROUS (2) VS Terror Gear 3
Terror Gear is a rather odd beast. Im not quite sure how to picture it, but I know one thing - 26mph top speeds wont make it too easy to control. Dodge the spinny part, slip the spikes underneath and tuck in. Cast it into the pit if it proves a slippery customer.
the winner of PTT 2 had car steering!
Firestorm uses a system that sorta allows it to drive with one motor, it uses two small drill motors to make the differential slow or accelerate each side separately. Also a featherweight, Whipper uses one drive motor, think it uses clutches though to dis-engage one side when turning...
Infusion VS Crashing Bore
Its been a while since Ive seen the bore in action... I even had to swim through the archives to find its stats :proud: Anyway, Its lightly armoured. The polycarbonate & titanium laminate wont last too long against Infusions weapon, so the idea is to attack the sides, corners and skirting as heavily as possible. Im not worried about the weaponry on Bore, but avoiding it regardless. Since the Bore is so big physically, it shouldnt be hard to land hits on it. 1200 x 700 x 400 is a lot of robot to hit...
Sorry about the mistake, Frank. Okay, The Crashing Bore runs on 4 S28-400 MagMotors. Gotcha.
Round 2 Battle 1
Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2) vs. Terror Gear 3

It€™s the 2nd seed that gets its motors going first, and has almost reached TG3 before the latter has even moved! Now that he€™s fully awake, TG3 tries to move away but Clawdius has got to the side and is pushing him around quite easily, AND gets under him...and I think he€™s doomed now. WHAM! Shoved against the wall, down comes the claw, and...it€™s unable to penetrate the 8mm titanium - oh wait, it is able! It took some time, but it€™s in there! There€™s naught that TG3 can do now, and Steve decides to end it now before anything nasty happens. Unfortunately TG3 still has one set of wheels on the floor and is moving Clawdius from side to side. It seems Tony is trying to wiggle free, and although he can€™t really escape Clawdius€™ weapon, he€™s doing a good job of giving him control issues. Steve€™s nerve pulses and Clawdius pours on the power, but Terror Gear 3 just will not allow the 2nd seed to do what he wants. He narrowly avoids a wall, as Clawdius just passes it. Unfortunately...that means he€™s allowed Clawdius to push him right into Double Big Mac€™s CPZ!
CRASH!!!
A smashing hit, I must say. :proud: TG3 has been hit into the wall and takes Clawdius with him, exposing Clawdius€™ rear end to DBM. Too bad that DBM can€™t take advantage, because he€™s not fully spun up...actually, not spinning at all. :proud: Asterix is going to add to the mayhem, though. WHAP! TG3 gets an already smashed-up sideful of wedge and is driven further into Clawdius€™ beak, the claw shaken from TG3€™s armour. This however is awesome news for Steve, as now all of TG3€™s wheels have left the ground. Oof. TG3 is pushed against the wall by Clawdius, as both house bots retreat, and the claw once again goes in. You€™ve been caught, Tony! And where do we go from here? Ah, yes, the pit. :proud: WHAM. Clawdius smacks TG3 into the release button and it descends slowly, and I think you all know what happens now. :proud:

Infusion€™s rim starts to move before either of the bots€™ wheels do. The Crashing Bore rockets towards the feared vapourbot in an attempt to clamp him. Infusion jolts aside and immediately puts the hurt on The Crashing Bore as he backs the rim into The Crashing Bore€™s side!
CRASH!!!
WHOA! Already there€™s been HUGE damage done to Frank€™s oldest vapourbot, as the entire side panel AND skirt have been taken off by just a single blow! Frank€™s face, however, is unreadable, and it stays that way as he directs The Crashing Bore around and towards Infusion, who€™s coming in for another attack. Infusion swerves off to the side again, to rip into the same spot from before, now completely open for business, but The Crashing Bore isn€™t going to let him perform any further incisions, at least, not without a fight. The wedge turns and points at Infusion, keeping him in line, as Aaron tries to get around it, with no luck. The Crashing Bore advances, and Infusion points his own wedge at The Crashing Bore. And...The Crashing Bore is successful! Infusion is tilted up onto the wedge! CLANG! The great blade swings down harshly onto the 8mm hardox wedge...and is completely withstood! Ah, you can hear the drill going at the 8mm Ti/V underbelly of Infusion, though...Infusion however is trying to ride off of the wedge, but not that successful. The rim is still spinning, but it can€™t hit something in front of Infusion. :proud: And now The Crashing Bore is about to go for a pitting...he€™s pointing Infusion at the pit release button! And...WHAP! INFUSION€™S ESCAPED! Oh dear, oh dear! The rim smacked the button, and even though the button is only lightly attached to the arena wall, the recoil was enough to knock Infusion loose! Now Frank is visibly worried, about as much as Aaron is ecstatic, and now Frank directs The Crashing Bore right back towards Infusion. Infusion now has the rim pointing at The Crashing Bore, and charges. The Crashing Bore follows suit. Infusion suddenly makes a reverse left, the direction that The Crashing Bore€™s exposed side is pointing at, and goes off towards where the floor flipper is, The Crashing Bore still tailing him and not wanting anything bad to happen at this critical point in the match. Aaron turns his bot around slightly, Infusion making a slight arc as he does so, and catches Frank off-guard: The Crashing Bore sails in and as Infusion turns, he inserts the rim directly into The Crashing Bore€™s side!
CRASH!!!
And THAT...appears to be it for The Crashing Bore. I just saw an Etek motor go flying across the arena, and Bore has stopped moving completely. Infusion turns, and rams the dead vapourbot towards the pit, sparing it any further humiliation. BOOM!
CEASE!
I think The Crashing Bore has dulled enough people for today. :proud:

Heat P Final
Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2) vs. Infusion
Tactics, predictions, comments, thoughts, and more comments on how you think the Semis will be. I€™ve got the list already done, so the line-ups will go up as soon as I am done the Heat P Final. :proud:
Well, Ive got one robot in the semis, so Im happy. I think its kinda ironic, the way my robots have faired in this tournament.
Well, I think that Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2) will win via pitting, due to its thick armour and power.
So thatll make the semis line-up:
Salamander III (1)
The Disc 5
Aquarius (5)
BIACS-LE
Killotine: EVO (9)
Tengu VII
Axeon 2.0 (13)
Cyclone Force 2.5
Cosmic Thunder 2
Tempest Evil-er-lution (14)
A Night At The Bar
Flank Attack: DT
SUNCUST
Son Of Ripper 5.0
Sheer Heart Attack
Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2)
I think that:
Salamander III
Clawdius Decimus Murderous
Tengu VII
Killotine: EVO
Stand a pretty good chance - my top underdog is BIACS-LE.
Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2) vs. Infusion
Aim to to use the weapon to tear the skirts off, then use the wedge & kinetic boost to wedge under a side and push it into the wall or nudge it into the pit. Avoid the front end, although I think it will be pretty hard for him to push Infusion up his wedge and clamp it without a weapon tooth striking the wedge, weapon or floor...
Be aggressive, and try to wedge/control it as much as possible.
Ill go for Infusion to win...tough battle though. It depends how much control CDM can get.

lol...
Well, plenty stand a pretty good chance, but those 4 stand the best. I think the underdogs are:
BIACS-LE
Cosmic Thunder 2
Tempest Evil-er-lution
Aquarius
Sheer Heart Attack
Cyclone Force 2.5
The Disc 5
Well to be honest, AJ, Son Of Ripper is a bit dated (no offense intended, but it has run for quite a long time), and Axeon 2.0s flipper-killing suction system doesnt stop it being flipped, but just stop it leaping up as easily - Terrorhurtz has a similar one. So if Axeon faces a flipper, itll go flying like everyone else would.
That pretty much sums up why I dont enter CB in things any more :lame:
My point was that the four vapourbots you mentioned must be getting on for 5 years old now. Thats what I like to call dated. With all respect to Steve, axes and crushers arent the most effective of weapons any more, and with all respect to Alex, Salamander III has no weapon motor and Tengu VII could be vastly improved.
In comparison to those four, SOR is not dated in the slightest. Sure, the general concept of SOR has been around for many years, but it still uses modern technology. I hate to blow my own trumpet here but looking at that list of semi-finalists, SOR is one of the better vapourbots.
For Axeon, where did the flipper killing suction system come from? The vacuum system is there to do exactly as you said, to provide some resistance against jumping in the air every time the axe is fired. I dont recall Terrorhurtz having one, as I desiged the system to prevent Axeon doing what Terrorhurtz does.
If I were to choose a vapourbot that looks like it might do well before the draw is made, I would go for Tempest. But the last semi-final place and the draw can really shake things up. Its nice to see at this stage there isnt really a clear cut winner. I expect some things to progress further than they should do, while some things will underachieve.
Oh, and Infusion FTW. :proud:
Terrorhurtz doesnt have a suction device, it uses a pneumatic foot at the back to push down and try to counter the front lifting. It was Killerhurtz that had it, Ive got an old video of John Reid driving it upside down :proud: The issue was the moment you break the seal of air between the floor and the robot, you lose the down force.
Let€™s finish it up, gentlemen. :)

Clawdius Decimus Murderous (2) vs. Infusion

Quickly Clawdius blasts off the mark, desperate to try to stop that spinner before it reaches speed, but noooope, Infusion€™s got the rim at speed now, and turns to use it in full force. Now Clawdius slows down, very tentative, unsure of how to approach the rim. Aaron senses weakness, and Infusion charges offset towards the sides. Clawdius backs off a little, taken aback a little, but repeats The Crashing Bore€™s strategic €œkeep-the-front-pointed-at-him€ tactic. Infusion stops, and Clawdius suddenly rockets out towards Infusion, exactly what Aaron was expecting. Infusion reverses gears, and goes forward, away from Clawdius, as the 2nd seed moves in front of him. Perfect! Infusion takes him to the cleaners. :proud:
CRASH!!!
Once again, we are another €œun-skirting€Â, as Clawdius now has his right side completely defenceless. Infusion tries to turn around and dash for the side but Clawdius has the front pointed at him again and advances on him. Not wishing to become pit fodder, Infusion moves away and dashes around the arena, getting the rim back up to speed. Clawdius hurries in, regardless, and rampages towards Infusion, trying to catch him off-guard. Infusion is a little late to get away, and the rim bumps against Clawdius€™ wedge...and on the side of it!
CRASH!
A nice dent is put into the frontal side...and actually bending the wedge a little! Aaron beholds it quite clearly, and Infusion rockets towards Clawdius, wedge-first, slamming into the 2nd seed, and the effect is expected: Clawdius€™ bent wedge and extender are unable to protect him against Infusion€™s own wedge, and scooped up onto the wedge Clawdius is taken right to the wall! WHAM! He bounces up over Infusion...and into the rim!
CRASH!!!
It€™s the skirtless side that takes the blow, and another dent is caused, though not really inflicting much more damage. Clawdius is thrown back, and Infusion backs up, turns, and flies at Clawdius, who can€™t seem to get out of the way in time, and instead turns to give Infusion the other side skirt. It€™s unfortunate for Steve, though, as a Kinetic Boost-fueled Infusion slams into the skirt with such force that the skirt actually flies up! Infusion turns around again using the rim to deal the falling skirt a blow.
CRASH!!!
The already weakened skirt is torn right off and lands with a clatter at the opposite end of the arena! Not looking good for our runner-up, I daresay. Clawdius, valiantly, makes his way towards Infusion, who just blazes a path towards him, gets under that sad and slightly bent wedge, and gives him another taste of cold, dead arena wall. WHAM! This time, Clawdius is not bounced off Infusion€™s wedge, but stays stuck there, pinned against the wall. Infusion tries to turn and scoop Clawdius off the wall but obviously it€™s not working because Clawdius is staying right where he is, and that would be on that spot on the wall. :proud: €˜Screw this€™, Aaron says to himself, and turns Infusion around again.
CRASH!!!
Clawdius gets nailed by the rim once more, but this time the rim doesn€™t appear to have inflicted damage. Clawdius is definitely living up to the team name €œBraveheart€Â, but how much good it€™s doing him, I can€™t guess, as he comes towards that devilish Infusion. Infusion wedges him again, but does not throw him into the wall. He€™s going to give Clawdius a trip to Taki-san€™s CPZ! As if this is some sort of signal, Taki immediately turns around and gives our beloved 2nd seed a nasty hit with the cutting blade!
CRASH!!!
That€™s all she wrote for Clawdius€™ skirts, it seems, as the rear one is now separated from Clawdius€™ high rear wedge. Infusion pushes him further into the CPZ and Taki is smushed into the corner. :proud: That€™s the cue for Tira-san to join the insanity and she comes zooming out. Infusion hurries away as Tira flies by, and Clawdius can€™t seem to get by the incoming house bot!
CRASH!!!
One of the two €˜spears€™ gets the axe, or rather the blade, as it goes flying. Infusion goes after the pit release button, pretty much knowing how this battle is going to end up. Clawdius is now sandwiched between the house bots and Infusion goes back to get him out of it...a tackle to Tira sends her tilted into Clawdius, who still seems to be moving, and finally is away towards the flame pit. Infusion releases Tira and once again pursues Clawdius around the arena. Clawdius again gives Infusion the front wedge, but it€™s quite futile by now, as Infusion scoops him onto his own. Infusion carefully lines Clawdius up with the pit, aaaaaaand...BOOM! HAHA! :proud: Infusion went a little too fast and put himself in too! Aaron gives the audience the €œI-don€™t-wanna-hear-it€ hand sign. :proud:
CEASE!

Nah, it would have been a http://lh4.google.com/erin.michael/R...?imgmax=512Too
Semi-Final 1
Salamander III (1) vs. Axeon (13): A very tough first battle - Axeon has 6mm Hardox armour, extreme power and speed - however, it doesnt mention ANY shock-proofing in the stats. Salamander might dont be the quickest of any robots, nor the most damaging, but it has very sharp teeth and very good staying ability. For this match, Ill go for the champ.
Killotine: EVO (9) vs. Cosmic Thunder 2: Could go either way for this battle, but I think it looks bad for the Lexan armoured Cosmic Thunder. If Cosmic gets under Killotine and pushes him towards the wall, and can flip, then Alexll win. But I believe Killotine to impale Mr McW and pit him.
A Night at the Bar vs. SUNCUST: A bad draw for ANATB. SUNCUSTs armour might be too thick for the bar to do anything. Unless it hits something important, the retired Antony will win through a pitting.
The Disc 5 vs. Infusion: This is going to be a SUPER battle! But The Disc 5 is well-known for being difficult to kill. Thats why Im going for him to win.
Semi-Final 2
Son of Ripper 5.0 vs. Tengu VII: Tengu VII win because...ITS TENGU!
Tempest Evil-er-oution (14) vs. Aquarius (5): A bad draw for Tempest - Aquarius to use its speed and power to bash underneath and flip it out!
Cyclone Force 2.5 vs. Sheer Heart Attack: Assuming Cyclone Force picks the claws, it can grab onto the sides of SHA, and slam him about. But Ill have to wait for the set-up Chris chooses first.
Flank Attack: DT vs. BIACS-LE: Flank Attack might be a well-known killer of spinners, but BIACS-LE is very wacky, and if that disc gets a blow on those exposed tyres, game over for Flank Attack.
Those are my predictions, so... *Hands Kody 100 Roman Candles to start if off*
The Disc 5 vs. Infusion
Not going to be an easy battle for either of us. Damage is not going to be the winning factor, more likely control and aggression. Will ponder some more on tactics, and probably revise TD5s stats a few times....
I agree with Aaron, whoever wins this is going to have to work for it. I think my best bet for now is going to be trying to stall the spinner and keep hitting him, flipping him around and basically stopping him from doing anything creative.
Against Aquarius, the biggest weakness I see is the top speed coupled with the drive. Hes going to be wheelie-ing when he starts moving forwards which isnt so bad at a distance, but if he has to move in at close distance, he wont get under because his nose will go smack into my blades. To exploit this, when I drive Tempest into the arena Ill deliberately face Tempest so its side on to Aquarius. Then to dodge a direct attack Ill only have to drive forwards meaning hell have to turn and compensate.
After that Ill keep things as close as I can so he just cant get under me. When Im on the offensive Ill just smack anywhere. Thich armour but no real shock proofing to speak of, and if lucky I can rip off a plate or flipper arm. Im confident I can score a knock-out.
The Crash & Burn Tournament 2 - Semi-Final Line-ups
Semi-Final 1
Salamander III (1) vs. Axeon (13)
Axes have a hard time hitting axlebots, this battle is slightly in favour of the champ I think.
Killotine: EVO (9) vs. Cosmic Thunder 2
Cosmic Thunders top is polycarb:proud:? Killotine all the way.
A Night at the Bar vs. SUNCUST
Interesting. SUNCUST has good armour indeed, but to attack me, hell need to attack my sides. ANatB is lotsa front, lotsa back and very little side, so that pretty much works to my advantage. Also, despite the thick armour, SUNCUST always has 3 skirts and even 1 lovely jaw to rip off, hmmm.
The Disc 5 vs. Infusion
For the love of god, how cool is this. This could go either way, but I favour Franks design here.
Semi-Final 2
Son of Ripper 5.0 vs. Tengu VII
SoR is a great allrounder and could pull off an OOTA, but Tengu has that big weapon going for him, Ill go with Tengu.
Tempest Evil-er-oution (14) vs. Aquarius (5)
Tempest. I dont think Aquarius can get a grip on it.
Cyclone Force 2.5 vs. Sheer Heart Attack
There we go again. Will have to wait for Chris setup, but keep in mind that all setups have a wedge. Sheer Heart Attack eats wedges.
Flank Attack: DT vs. BIACS-LE
BIACS-LE, Flank Attacks armour wont cut it here.
Well done Kody!
The Disc 5 VS Infusion
TD5 has a few things going against it here, and Im going to try to capitalise that. TD5 has no way of pushing me, so hes not going to be controlling the battle with wedge like tactics. TD5s wheels are big, giving plenty of places for me to strike. Even if I dont do significant damage to the wheels, it will count to my aggression.
I can push him all over the arena with my wedge, stalling his weapon as I go. If we go weapon to weapon, I doubt he would flip me as I have a lot more weight and energy in my rim, Im more likely to break the teeth of his disc (ALA Warhead VS Nightmare).
Main tactics are to attack the wheels with the weapon or stall his weapon with my wedge and push him into the pit. Be aggressive and controlling.
Armour - 6 mm Titanium skirts, 4 mm see-through Hardox (lol, but I cant be arsed to change the CAD, so if theres no such thing as see-through Hardox then you can bugger off =P) on the front.
Paul Id appreciate it if you didnt say that I had some crappy armor on my bot. T_T
also martijn lol, this version has armor better than the original Flank Attack who managed to survive an entire fight with Tengu VI. And it cant survive against BIACS-LE? I mean, in this thread it was even stated that one of my bots, FBSDS, has a higher output of Power than BIACS-LE and comparing FBSDS to Tengu is insane.
Killotine: EVO (9) vs. Cosmic Thunder 2
Same velocities here, but with my two wheeled differential turning, I should be a tad more manuevarble at turning and shoving my wedge in. Hes probably going to be running his spatula at the front, but thatll only match my own spring-loaded spatula so I think Id prefer to try for the sides. As aformentioned, my armor is not bad in the least (the picture does not speak for the stats, guys) so I can take some hammer hits. He, however, would be weak to being flipped which I intend to do. I need to get around to the sides and just get him out of the arena, for lack of continually flipping him.
Flank Attack: DT vs. BIACS-LE
His disc is said to have a slow acceleration, and his armor is weak. Use my superior speed to close the distance and get my jaws around that disc to prevent any spin up at all. The slow acceleration that his disc has is key, and even if he hits me that means his disc has been slowed down and Ill be able to take control. Never let his disc spin up, and never let him out of my grasp. Quick claw and pit.
Cyclone Force 2.5 vs. Sheer Heart Attack
There we go again. Will have to wait for Chris setup, but keep in mind that all setups have a wedge. Sheer Heart Attack eats wedges.
I said it before, and Ill say it again...I love an oblivious oppodent.
Im a little bit undecided at the moment. Im thinking of using either the claws or the disc, but Ill decide closer to the time.
Semi-Final 1
Salamander III (1) vs. Axeon (13)
Durable spinner v. non-shockproofed axebot. Salamander for the KO, I think.
Killotine: EVO (9) vs. Cosmic Thunder 2
Would probably depend on who can get control easier. CT2 can end it very quickly, but Killotine has a big axe and could win if it went down to the judges. Too close for my inexperienced, naive, novice mind to call.
A Night at the Bar vs. SUNCUST
I think this may go to the judges, and ANATB would probably win on damage.
The Disc 5 vs. Infusion
Hmm. Horizontal versus vertical here, but The Discs design screws up most of the assumptions. Nonetheless, Ill go for Infusion to win - just, and possibily by JD.
Semi-Final 2
Son of Ripper 5.0 vs. Tengu VII
Tengu. As Paul put it, ITS TENGU! :proud:
Tempest Evil-er-oution (14) vs. Aquarius (5)
I dont think Aquarius can control Tempest enough to get it out of the arena. Tempest FTW.
Cyclone Force 2.5 vs. Sheer Heart Attack
It depends on the setup, but Cyclone Force seems a bit too durable, and those sides look too easy to get to. Cyclone Force.
Flank Attack: DT vs. BIACS-LE
I cant really see BIACS-LE getting up to speed fast enough, or getting out of Flank Attacks way before it can get a grip.
SEMI-FINAL 1
ROUND 1
Cosmic Thunder 2 VS KILLOTINE: EVO (9)
Like MSSDs clash with Cosmic Thunder earlier in the series, Alex has the edge in manoueverability, but I should have the edge in pushing power and control. Aim for the skirt corners to charge underneath (preferably at the rear end to avoid that acursed flipper), get a good grip with the axe and dont let go. If Im very lucky, I might just get the axe head caught in the wheel house or puncture a tyre too. Power it into a House Robot or the pit (whichevers closest) before it can wriggle away.
Im not sure why Im bothering to use the same tactics again as they didnt exactly work out last time, but you never know. Besides, theres not much else to do. :lame:
Oh and if axes arent that effective anymore, AJ, what are you doing with an axebot in the Semis as well?

Guess I shouldve explained myself better. I was talking about the nature of BIACS-LEs attack rather than the raw power. Flank Attack has less defens against an overhead disc than it has against an FBS coming straight at it.
Also, Kody wants predictions, so I give him predictions :proud:. There are no one-sided matchups in this draw I think so dont take me too seriously when I am like omg BIACS-LE will win!!!
