Im going for a shock, Mega Masher 2 to ram the very wide Dervish 5 into the pit, via ramming around the rear end, it cant turn easily at full power, so that it has a disadvantage at once.
Daniel Stickler and Chris Mason both already have one robot each in the semis - will Dervish V/ be celebrating with Manic Monsoon, or will Mega Masher 2 be going for celebratory drinks with Orka Mk3?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Dervish V/ began backing off again to allow itself spinning time, and as Mega Masher 2 came at it, it turned for a side hit! Mega Masher 2 was tilted like Scimiter, and looked like it might rest on its side! Dervish V/ stopped that by hitting MM2 in the underbelly and throwing it against the wall! As MM2 began sliding onto its wheels, it was struck by the 22nd seed again, but the wall prevented it from really tilting, so it was able to run away, inverted and getting a clip from Dervish in the rear! A moment later, MM2 came back at its opponent, its inverted wedge shoving one wheel! Unfortunately, this aided Dervish in turning around and striking the 5mm titanium, doing it no good! It did Mega Masher 2 some good, though, allowing it to fall back onto its wheels - when Dervish attacked again, it hit the rear disc and took a scratch! Mega Masher 2 reversed at Dervish V/ with the disc, hitting the drum and right wheel hub! Dervish tried to attack but was smacked on the wheel again, although it managed to turn into Mega Masher 2s side with its other wheel and hit! Almost settling on its side, Mega Masher 2 became inverted again, and its side armour became even more slashed by Dervish V/ seconds later!
Mega Masher 2 again escaped at this point, running away from Dervish V/ and using its bar to selfright, so its wedge was in play! It swerved round as Dervish V/ approached, then ran round its opponent and tried to ram it into the wall! The wedge hit the drum and both robots bounced back, then ran at each other again! In trying to reach the side, Dervish V/ ran up the wedge and hit the side top, giving itself and MM2 a knock! Going for MM2 again, it just managed a nick before Mega Masher 2 was off again and trying to ram in the side, but Dervish V/ took advantage and got in another side bash which tilted the box wedge! Another hit sent MM2 rolling all the way over, and taking another strike before it could run away, tilting it again and causing it to finally rest on its side! Fortunately, it could use its bar, and even more fortunately, it had righted itself before Dervish V/ could hit the bar - but the 22nd seed could still hit the armour, and tilt Mega Masher 2 again, to slash the underbelly! MM2 bounced a little and began coming down onto its wheels, and again it was struck! It landed on its wheels after the hit and ran away to right itself again! Dervish V/ faced Mega Masher 2 down as it rushed in to ram, and swerved round to hit the side and bounce off again! Mega Masher 2 also bounced back, but did no more moving after that - the repeated attacks of Dervish V/s drum on the armour had taken its toll! Another victory spin was in order for Dervish V/!
CEASE!
DERVISH V/ GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT6, fourth seed Killotine Evo will give Mother Of All Bricks 2, Terrorhurtz and Wrecktangle a good axing!

300TH POST!!! :proud:
Team Gore - revolutionizing the vapourbot world
Im really going to regret sellign that, I can just tell.
Welcome to VFT6, where the long awaited semi finals are now just two heats away! Lets recruit another robot into our top 16, with Heat O!
Fourth seed Killotine Evo has entered all the VFTs but only in VFT5 did it make really great progress - axing Wheely Big Cheese, Chalkie, WOSS 1.5 and Influenza got it to the grand final, where WX 5.0 and Monsoons Back successively pitted it, giving it 4th place in the tournament! But its been winning plenty of other tourneys, and Steven has mainly chosen not to mess with a winning design - Killotine Evo remains a box with a low wedge, which now sports a low titanium spatula to help against skirts! The main weapon is the axe, made of 3.5mm Hardox and able to come down hard! Killotine Evo has good traction, good skirts and the axe is a good srimech, but it might not be that good at turning!
Twentieth seed Typhoon 2 entered VFT5 after its destructive victory in RW7, and made it to the heat final, where Scottish Fiction Mk2 managed to stall the spinner and overturn it, exploiting its weakness of a non existent srimech! Apart from that, Typhoon 2 is undoubtedly a tough machine - a spinning cone that does real damage to most things it hits! Its built by air force cadets - will we see a Top Gun performance by Typhoon 2 today?
Mother Of All Bricks 2 has never been in VFT before, but the fact that it came 3rd in PTT4 must say something about it! Its a brick shaped robot that runs on 8 shuffling plates which take it to 18mph, and probably make a lot of noise too! MOAB2 pushes with a frightening 128HP, and that means the screwdriver-drill weapon at the front can cause some pain! Its invertable and has torsion sprung skirts - will bricks rule here?
Ringmaster hopes to turn the arena into a circus ring and smack every other robot around - and its equipped to do so, being an invertable ring spinner with 8 steel teeth attached! It will outpace most of the competition at 20mph, and with its vulcalore wheels, its a good pusher too! Ringmasters strong chassis and shock proofing should prevent any fatal backlashes when it hits anything, but it could have trouble with a high ground clearance and exposed wheels on top!
Terrorhurtz has VFT experience, having competed in four of them, but only in VFT1 did it manage to get past Round 1, receiving a quick pitting by Achilles and Monsoons Back in its last attempt! Dont underestimate this roof shaped real robot, though - it came fourth in RW6, and it did that with its mighty double headed axe that pummeled Kronic 2, Panic Attack, Spawn Again and Bigger Brother to death! Terrorhurtz also has speed on its side, but its polycarbonate armour has been shown to be weak against powerful spinners!
Well Buy You A New One Tomorrow Mrs Brown is one of the few (if any) clusterbots in VFT6 - its made up of two invertable boxes that can push 200kg, and also lift it with linear actuated lifting arms! Its 10mm aluminium armour may not be the strongest in the business, and it has a high ground clearance, but it has teamwork on its side! Will WBYANOTMB have the same success as VFT4 semifinalist clusterbot You Outside Now?
Wrecktangle may well cause some wreckage in the arena - its based on Robotica contestant Ultra Violence, and is a wide box with skirts and a plough at the rear! At the front is a rectangular spinning blade designed to flip and damage, and it has a srimech bar on top! Wrecktangle has solid wheels that should be harder to damage, and its one of VFT6s fastest at 30mph, but will that lower its control?
And Ymir, originally the property of Alex Holt but bought from him by Andy Jackson, is a triangular robot a bit like Mega Hurts (the Navy one, not the computer one). At its front is a sharpened lump of Hardox - Ymir spins on the spot to bring it into effect, and can also run at its opponents with 25mph and 17hp in its drive! But with a high ground clearance and wheels that can be attacked from the side, will Ymir be left wondering why?
A frenzy of axes, drills and spinning blades awaits the audience now, as Killotine Evo, Mother Of All Bricks 2, Terrorhurtz and Wrecktangle are stuffed into the arena!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Killotine Evo and Terrorhurtz headed straight for each other, with Mother Of All Bricks 2 slotting between them to reach Wrecktangle, who went for Killotine Evo! The blade smashed into the seeds side, knocking it sideways! But Killotine Evo was rescued as MOAB2 turned and managed to shove Wrecktangle away side on! This opened up an oppotunity for Terrorhurtz to reach Killotine Evos side and begin axing the top, but the Hardox held firm! Meanwhile, MOAB2 had Wrecktangle against the north wall and was straining to get its own low skirts past Wrecktangles! Eventually, it succeeded, and Wrecktangle was being shuffled towards the pit release! Fortunately, its blade hit the wall and it literally bounced back, away from MOAB2, and ran into the bricks side! MOAB2 reversed, taking another hit on the front, but Wrecktangle turned to face it and they met head on, and both bounced backwards! Wrecktangle then turned to attack MOAB2s side - while dodging MOAB2s attempted attack, its momentum made it miss! Unfortunately, its side was exposed to MOAB2s rear, and the PTT bronze medallist exploited this, catching Wrecktangle in the side and ramming it into the pit just before it could close!
While this was going on, Terrorhurtz had continued to pummel Killotine Evo, until Killotine Evo managed to break away and both robots found themselves parallel to each other and unable to use their axes! They were still at it when Mother Of All Bricks 2 reappeared and came towards Terrorhurtz, who tried reversing out of danger! Unfortunately, MOAB2 chased it down - Terrorhurtz came on the offensive as the gap closed and managed to do some axing, but MOAB2 turned to scrape at the polycarbonate with its drill! Killotine Evo now chose its moment to attack, and its own axe had soon penetrated Terrorhurtzs shell! Desperately pounding its axe against the floor to escape, Terrorhurtz was dragged to the pit release by the 4th seed. It was dangled over the pit, and with a little push from MOAB2, it had joined Wrecktangle!
CEASE!
Terrorhurtz and Wrecktangle are eliminated!
KILLOTINE EVO AND MOTHER OF ALL BRICKS 2 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Typhoon 2, Ringmaster, Well Buy You A New One Tomorrow Mrs Brown and Ymir are next in our scheduled fighting!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Typhoon 2 and Ringmaster remained static to begin spinning, while WBYANOTMB split up and ran towards both spinners, but Ymir got there first and smashed into Typhoon 2, sending it reeling! As Ymir began spinning on the spot, Typhoon 2 drove away from Brown 2, who was chasing it, while Brown 1 went after Ringmaster! Unfortunately, Ringmaster had spun up, and was able to reach Brown 1s side and tear the aluminium! As Brown 1 went spinning off, Ringmaster reversed after it and hit it in the front, again knocking Brown 1 backwards, into the wall! At this point, Ymir got bored of spot-spinning and ran towards the stunned Brown 1, but was glanced by Ringmaster and sent against the wall itself! Ringmaster was quick to attack again, running into Ymirs right wheel and slashing it! Its wheel dented, Ymir was left wobbling as it moved again - Brown 1 shoved into it and sent it into Ringmaster to try and slow the spinner! Ymir went bouncing, with its wheel even more damaged, and Ringmaster was still spinning fast enough to knock Brown 1 away!
Meanwhile, Typhoon 2 had managed to spin itself up, and had run back towards Brown 2 to attack it! Pressurising Brown 2, Typhoon 2 had caused damage to the armour before deciding to move on to Ymir, once it saw the triangular robot was crippled! Trying to spin but failing to do so effectively, Ymir still managed to glance Typhoon 2 with its Hardox point! But Typhoon 2 was soon back on the case, hitting the left wheel! Brown 2 was following the RW champ, but Typhoon 2 just managed to keep ahead and hit Ymir in the wheel again, almost incapacitating it! Brown 2 now ran into Typhoon 2 to try and get it against the wall, but just failed! Ymir began spinning slowly, and Typhoon 2 whacked the left wheel once again, but Ymir was still moving a little! The 20th seed went to hit the killer blow, but Brown 2 went for it again, so had to be mashed in the side before Typhoon 2 could continue its attack on Ymir! Another hit on the right wheel had fatal consequences - Ymir could no longer move! After another hit to make sure, Typhoon 2 went after Brown 2! The other twin, Brown 1 hadnt been having much luck with Ringmaster, who had been running rings (hee hee) around it and pummeling it all over, giving it a rather battered appearance! Brown 1 now just went for the pit release, with Ringmaster, Brown 2 and Typhoon 2 pursuing!
Before it could reach the release, Brown 1 received a cheeky rear bash from Ringmaster, who was then rammed by Brown 2, not doing much good! Brown 1 was attacked by Typhoon 2, almost sending it against the wall! Brown 1 went for the pit release, and Brown 2 couldnt get there quick enough to prevent Typhoon 2 striking it again, causing more harm to the already damaged armour and rendering one part of the clusterbot incapable of movement! The 20th seed tried to escape the oncoming Brown 2, but was rammed against the wall, slowing its spinner! Brown 2 didnt have long to take advantage, as it was hit side on by Ringmaster! The two spinning robots ended up going for the clusterbot part together in the next attack, but Typhoon 2 hit Ringmaster accidentally and glanced off, leaving Ringmaster to hit Brown 2 in the front, leave a final slash and immobilise the third robot in the arena! The spinners kept to opposite sides of the arena as they waited for the final countdown on their sad-looking opponents!
CEASE!
Well Buy You A New One Tomorrow Mrs Brown and Ymir are eliminated!
TYPHOON 2 AND RINGMASTER GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat O, Round 2:
Killotine Evo (4) vs Ringmaster
Typhoon 2 (20) vs Mother Of All Bricks 2
Well this is a surprise!
Killotine Evo (4) vs Ringmaster
Ive seen full body spinners and spinning blades bounce up onto wedges and Killy has one, and an axe, so Killy for me.
Typhoon 2 (20) vs Mother Of All Bricks 2
Bah, MOAB2 will kill it before the RW7 winner even starts spinning! For Aaron, its his way how he wants to defeat Typhoon.
Heat Winner: Killotine Evo
Team Gore - revolutionizing the vapourbot world
Killotine vs Ringmaster - Killotine to do what it does best.
Typhoon 2 vs MOAB2 - I dont care how much HP MOAB 2 generates, Typhoon can easily keep away until the shell is spinning. The drill wont cause any damage, merely being there to get it past the weapon rule, and as long as Typhoon is spinning MOAB 2 will just be blasted across the arena whenever the two touch. Typhoon 2 for me, but itll be on a judges.
Typhoon 2 vs MOAB2
Basically Ill keep running into Typhoon, its only powered by wheelchair motors and is not extremely fast. The weapon being powered by a chainsaw is quite gutless down low, so once hes in the low torque range, Im going to push him into a corner or the pit. As for Franks theory on my sliding across the arena, with the aid of the shuffling pads, that will be minimised, it will be Typhoon who goes flying. If I stay aggressive and control the fight the JD will be more favoured to MOAB, after all, Typhoon is a weak pusher, hard to control and is designed to spin, if he cant damage an opponent, he cant win.
not again
HEAT O
ROUND 2
1) KILLOTINE: EVO (4) VS RingMaster
Simply charge straight underneath it before it can spin up and slam the axe into the LexiGuard top or into one of the wheel houses. From there, drag to the Pit Release and dunk in the hole.
2) Mother of All Bricks 2 VS Typhoon 2 (20)
Gotta go with the PTT4 upstart to overthrow the RW champion via severe bludgeoning :proud:
1) Killy
2) Typhoon 2
VICTOR - Typhoon 2
Hmm... I come back and the most famous torunament bar 2 is silent... man things have chnaged:sad:
Hi, everyone. As you may have read on Martyns Quiz 9, I cant post on the forum right now. I changed my email address and I need an activation key sent by email to get myself back on, but because email notification is down, I cant get the key. So Martyn (and MHF, but his email address doesnt seem to be working) has offered to post the next VFT6 fights, and now, finally, here they are. Hopefully I can get back to writing at a good pace.
Getting back on track with Heat O, Round 2, can Killotine Evo take the place of the Ringmaster?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Killotine Evo came accelerating towards Ringmaster, who wisely backed off and began to spin! Killotine Evo ran to catch up, but Ringmaster only came towards it once its ring was going at speed! However, it came into the path of Killotines axe, which quickly came down, but hit the Lexiguard armour and made a dent! The axe retracted before Ringmaster could move and hit it, but the spinner could still do a slam attack into Killotine Evos side, and did, knocking it away! As the two came together again, Killotine Evo used its axe again and hit the edge of Ringmasters top, making another scratch! It tried to run from Ringmasters advance but was hit in a rear corner and spun off course! An attempted axe attack missed, and Ringmaster just hit the Hardox sides again! Rushing towards the spinner again, Killotine Evo managed to send its axe into a wheel house on the top! Now it could begin trying to drag, but Ringmaster fought back with 18HP drive! The result was both robots moving back and forth rather boringly! Eventually, Killotine Evo retracted its axe - and charged at Ringmaster, getting under with the spatula and knocking the spinner against the nearby west wall! Knocked against the wall but able to follow, Killotine Evo rammed Ringmaster again, slowing the spinner even more so it could bring its spatula and wedge underneath! Pinning Ringmaster down with the trusty axe, Killotine Evo quickly delivered its cargo to the pit release, and dropped it off in the pit!
CEASE!
KILLOTINE EVO GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
A successful realie and a successful Vapour now go head to head - Typhoon 2 and Mother Of All Bricks 2!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Typhoon 2 began spinning its deadly cone - and a second later, was forced to run as Mother Of All Bricks 2 charged! Typhoon 2 found itself unable to outrun MOAB2, who turned around and came to greet it! Both robots were flung away from the impact, Typhoon 2 going wham into the south wall and being forced to start spinning up again! MOAB2 exploited this by running back into the 20th seed and bullying it into a corner, while wearing away part of the armour with its drill! The PTT4 third placer continued to pin the helpless Typhoon 2 for a while, the drill creating an ever more painful mark! Before the pin time limit was up, it released Typhoon 2, who ran for its life and began spinning up its shell again! But running for its life wasnt fast enough as MOAB2 caught up, withstanding the shell and bouncing Typhoon 2, then trapping it on a front skirt and charging mercilessly into the arena disc! Typhoon 2 bounced back against MOAB2 and away, while MOAB2 itself took a blow from the disc, but the Hardox armour shrugged it off!
Able to spin itself up, Typhoon 2 managed to run into Mother Of All Bricks 2s side as it was turning and knock its rear into the disc, but MOAB2 quickly responded by charging into the RW7 champ again, giving it and itself a good knock! Skimming to some distance away, Typhoon 2 got spinning again and came to meet MOAB2s next advance, which again sent both robots reeling! Practically undamaged, MOAB2 ran into Typhoon 2, almost sending it into the west wall but still slowing it! Typhoon 2 began running again to restart the spinner, and dodged MOAB2 when it charged, whacking it in the side! Shuffling itself around, MOAB2 came back towards the 20th seed and ran its drill into the spinner, knocking it back but scarring its weapon! Fortunately, Typhoon 2 was still able to keep away long enough to spin itself up again, and when the two robots made contact again, it was able to knock MOAB2 off course! But the unseeded robot was soon back on course, running into Typhoon 2 hard, and sending it against the north wall, before turning and getting its front skirt under the stalled spinner, and taking it back into the southwest corner! An attempt to overturn Typhoon 2 failed, so MOAB2 just pinned the RW champ again, wearing away with the diamond tipped drill! Again, the time limit wasnt quite up when MOAB2 got bored and released its pressured prey!
Typhoon 2 wasnt able to get spinning for long before it was hit by Mother Of All Bricks 2 again and bounced towards the wall! It didnt hit the Lexan, but MOAB2 was still able to get underneath and reintroduce Typhoon 2 to the arena disc! Skimming and spinning like a UFO, Typhoon 2 glanced the east wall and balanced precariously on its side - would it stabilise or go over! MOAB2 decided that by reversing quickly and catching Typhoon 2 on its skirts, successfully tipping it over just as Scottish Fiction Mk2 had done in VFT5! Typhoon 2 was left with its body spinning inside its shell, unable to right itself! MOAB2 watched with bemusement, then began quickly rolling its victim along, back into the arena disc! Typhoon 2 flew off again, but remained on its side, now with another scar in its armour! MOAB2 shuffled to its opponent in the arena centre, then began cruelly scratching away with its drill until the countdown on Typhoon 2 came to a close!
CEASE!
MOTHER OF ALL BRICKS 2 GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Heat O Final:
Killotine Evo (4) vs Mother Of All Bricks 2
Its working Rich:)
WOOHOO! Great fights! :proud:
Hallelujah! The Master has returned! :proud:
HEAT O
ROUND 3
Mother of All Bricks 2 VS KILLOTINE: EVO (4)
Little I can do here, really. All I can really try is to get under the sides, grapple the Hardox (or get the hammer jammed into the shuffler housing) and attempt to drag/shove it side-on into the Pit.
Wootiful stuff as ever, Richie-o :)
Prediction -
Mother of All Bricks 2 to push the 14th seed around, until Steve gets a good shot onto the top to knock something loose inside the brick building.
The Master, travels in time, in space and on trains.
Im going to run around like a Tornado in a china shop. Main idea is to push him around from the side and back, facing the front is a stupid idea, but I have a tactic for that. If he grapples me by getting the axe into the shuffle wells, Im going to use his axe against him and drag his sorry ass around the arena until he lets go or goes into the pit. If i can hit him hard enough on the side and get under him, Im going to push him into the pit at the first chance.
He cant do much damage to me and I dont believe Killotine has the force of Typhoon, so Im not worried about anything inside coming loose or breaking.
I know this says Team Hampshire Devils Code, but its me, Richard!
Just letting everyone know that Dave S has kindly offered to let me use the THDC account to post on the forum until I can use my account again. Thanks for that, Dave!
I dont know if you know, Matt or Andy, but if you have a problem with this, just say so.
All is fine with me, Dave asked me about it earlier so I knew.
Our penultimate heat final promises to be a good one - will the creator of the PTT demonstrate his power with Killotine Evo, or will Mother Of All Bricks 2 take another step to adding another award to his cabinet?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
A familiar sight unfolded as Killotine Evo and Mother Of All Bricks 2 met in the arena centre and went for each others sides! There was a struggle, but MOAB2 reached the side of the 4th seed, and shoved! Both robots ended up at the arena disc, which sliced Killotine Evos front wedge and skimmed it so it was at the side of MOAB2! Rushing in, Killotine Evo pinned MOAB2 against the wall and sent the axe crashing down over its body! It began trying to drag, but MOAB2 proved too strong and wriggled out of the axes grip! Killotine Evo tried to grab the shuffler again but missed, and both robots came together in a spin which ended in MOAB2 again reaching Killotines side! Shoving Killotine Evo into the east wall, it quickly rammed its victim hard into the pit release, hard enough for its low front skirt to come under Killotine Evo and make it bounce a little! Firing its axe wasnt enough for Killotine Evo, who, a few seconds later, found itself down the pit and out of VFT6!
CEASE!
MOTHER OF ALL BRICKS 2 GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT6, second seed WX 6.0 wants gold instead of silver, but it needs to beat Little Sister, VGer and X Terminator first!
And 18th seed Heir To Black Panther IV will try biting and scratching Star 69, The Doomsday Project and Wedgie 5 into submission!
Steve, want to gang up on Alex?
If so, I will try to flip Star 69 around and hopefully down into the pit or against the wall before moving back and dodging to the side of the black panther and flip it over and over into the pit hopefully.
Star 69 will spin up and ram into who ever has the weakest armour, if anyone tries to push me i will push back.
I guess Im starting to regret giving MOAB such a nasty reputation now. :proud:
HEAT P
ROUND 1
1) Little Sister VS VGer VS WX 6.0 (2) VS X-Terminator
Whirlitzer should survive OK, and I have a feeling Nick will be accompanying him into the next Round
2) Heir to Black Panther IV (18) VS Star 69 VS THE DOOMSDAY PROJECT VS Wedgie 5
Last chance for more Semi glory! Alex and I have already agreed on a little team-up here, so while he slams and dumps 69 (*immature sniggers*), Ill slip under Wedgies high ground clearance and batter it all the way to Mobius and back! :proud:
Nice fight there, but lets hope you improve in the next Heat, Richie
Little Sister VS VGer VS WX 6.0 (2) VS X-Terminator
Stick the scoop on and try to pit Little Sister and X-Terminator. I better stay away from VGer.
Great Battle Stevo, shorter then I was thinking, but hey, I think this match should have been called Storm 2 VS Steel Avenger, except you ended up in the pit :proud:
w00t. MOAB is becoming one of my fav bots, time to work on MOABIE I think.
Welcome to VFT6, where weve finally reached the final heat, Heat P! The semi finals already have an impressive lineup of robots, and with the standard of competitors in this heat, thats not about to change!
Second seed WX 6.0 was the runnerup in VFT5 - its interchangable designs beat Dervish Quatro, Parasite, Tempest Evil-oution and Killotine Evo! It met The Disc 2 in the grand final, and put up a valiant effort, but succumbed to its opponents devastating weaponry! The silver medallist is still a low invertable box, and it still has interchangable weaponry - two scoops, Hardox jaws, sprung skirts, a Tornado-like anti crusher bar, a vertical drum, front forks and a concave scoop for spinners! WX 6.0 is a fairly good pusher, and uses skid steering to turn, but its speed has been dropped to 15mph!
Eighteenth seed Heir To Black Panther IV reached its second heat final in the last tournament - just like in VFT4, it was smashed by a spinner, Windyer Killer (the VFT4 one was Whirligig 3.0 in case youre wondering)! This Beta-shaped robot has gone through some changes - it now has skirts, side spikes, and is faster at 23mph! It has a double sided axe and a front lifter to attack with, and six canisters that can be assigned to the two weapons in different amounts! With improvements in armour and traction as well, could Heir To Black Panther IV finally become the king?
Little Sister is the version of Bigger Brother used for Battlebots, and its basically the same as Big Bro - armed with a spiked flipping arm, and able to do a cool victory spin, although it has a bright yellow paintjob with flowers! It hasnt done brilliantly in Battlebots, being beaten by Biohazard and Killerhurtz, but it did win the Heavyweight Rumble in BB4, so it could put up a good performance in the melees here!
Star 69 hopes to shine in the VFT sky - its shaped like a five point star, with the points spinning around the circular base, to cause as much damage as a solar flare! Star 69 is invertable, and can push with six Storm 2 like wheels, and its fast at 19mph - but it does have a high ground clearance, and will opponents take offence at its possibly rude name?
The Doomsday Project is shaped similar to La Machine or Tsunami - a scooped front, sloped sides and wedged rear! The front houses the weapon - a vertical disc that produces 149kj when spinning at 3000rpm, and could cause doomsday for someone unlucky enough to touch it! The Doomsday Project is well armoured with 4mm Hardox, skirted, and has a srimech on the rear which can also be used as a weapon, but its manouverability and speed could be better, and under those skirts is a high 10mm ground clearance!
VGer has almost entered two previous VFTs but had to pull out, but now its finally ready to compete! This robot with an indescribable shape has a 10kg flywheel at the front with adjustable height - it has a flipper/srimech at the back, good turning and good titanium armour for protection! But its not too good at pushing, its ground clearance is high, and could opponents take advantage of the fact that it hasnt used its full weight allowance?
Wedgie 5 recently came 2nd in PTT4, but weve yet to see how it can do in VFT! Its a low wedge (surprise surprise) with a rounded back and rollover bars, and its weapon is a rear hinged flipper, with a low spatula to get under spinners and skirts! Its two wheel drive allows it to spin on the spot and potentially hurt opponents a la Dantomkia, but it also reduces pushing ability! Wedgie 5 has good speed at 20mph, titanium armour with polycarbonate on top for carbon tipped spinners, but it has no skirts and a fast flipper could well get under!
And X Terminator failed to make it past Round 1 of VFT4, where it was eliminated by Thundershock and Forcepower 2.0, but it salvaged some pride by coming joint 2nd in the pinball! Its hoping to raise its pride even higher in VFT6, using its powerful vertical disc that caused serious pain to Killer Carrot, Tsunami, St Agro and Bulldog Breed in RW7, where it came 4th! X Terminator is fast and experienced, but has trouble selfrighting when thrown on its back!
The first melee has two Vapours - WX 6.0 (with scoop) and VGer - and two realies - Little Sister and X Terminator: which pair will go through, or will it be one of each?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
WX 6.0 zipped towards Little Sister, who headed for X Terminator, who was already coming to meet it, allowing VGer to attack from the side! WX 6.0 rammed Little Sister in the side just as X Terminator whacked the Brit/American and turned it over! WX 6.0 began ramming Little Sister, but took a rear blow from X Terminator, which tipped it and allowed Little Sister to escape while selfrighting! At this point, VGer ran into the side of X Terminator and left its mark! But Little Sister proceeded to run into VGers side, flip it, and run it into the arena disc as it was selfrighting! Turning as VGer flew off, Little Sister faced a double attack from WX 6.0 and X Terminator - choosing X Terminator, it dodged the disc, shoved at the side and flipped X Terminator on its head! The RW7 fourth placer ran along the floor on its disc, coming to a stop against the wall!
WX 6.0 chose its moment to run into Little Sister with its scoop and run it along to the pit release - finding its back against the wall, Little Sister fired its arm and went up WX 6.0s scoop, then zipped itself off to find VGer approaching! WX 6.0 dodged Little Sisters attempted flip and got under its side, but ended up running into VGer, who struck along the 2nd seeds side with its flywheel! Unfortunately, Little Sister was not freed by this attack, and was run straight into the pit before it could close! Keeping away from VGer, WX 6.0 headed for X Terminator, who was being counted out for immobility due to invertedness! WX 6.0 began shoving X Terminator towards the pit, but the hole closed, and before WX 6.0 could reopen it, X Terminator was counted out and the match was ended!
CEASE!
Little Sister and X Terminator are eliminated!
WX 6.0 AND VGER GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
VFT6s final four robot melee (except for the Annihilator and possibly the All Stars) promises to be a good one, with Heir To Black Panther IV, Star 69, The Doomsday Project and Wedgie 5 ready to cause carnage!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Heir To Black Panther IV headed for Star 69, who backed off to begin spinning and then headed back towards it, while The Doomsday Project went for Wedgie 5, who was also after Star 69! The first contact was between HTBP4 and Star 69 - a lift which had spun HTBP4 away and sent Star 69 bouncing into the wall! Wedgie 5 came to meet it, slipping its spatula underneath and tossing Star 69 into the sky! As Star 69 returned to earth with a bang, another flip from Wedgie 5 left it propped against the wall of the pit! The Doomsday Project now sneaked in from behind, catching Wedgie 5 on the side as it tried to escape, and using the disc to turn it against the wall! Wedgie 5 used its flipper to get off, right back into the disc of TDP, which sent it off to one side and on its back again! It selfrighted, brushing the wall, and took another strike from TDP - using its flipper to get off the wall again, it finally reversed out of danger. Meanwhile, HTBP4 had opened the pit and sent Star 69 dropping out before it could slide back to the floor!
Heir To Black Panther IV now came to join The Doomsday Project against Wedgie 5, who had attacked TDP in the side and was pushing against the skirts with its spatula! It succeeded, and TDP flew through the air, almost hitting HTBP4! The 18th seed kept coming for Wedgie 5, and the two robots ended up parallel to each other, trying to reach the others side! The Doomsday Project returned to try and break the dance, running around to reach Wedgie 5, finally succeeding and overturning it against HTBP4, perfect for the 18th seed to use its axe on the underbelly! It fired the axe angrily, pummeling Wedgie 5 and shoving it back down when it tried to selfright! TDP decided to try another hit, which knocked up both Wedgie 5 and HTBP4 - HTBP4 was quickly freed when it released its axe, and Wedgie 5 was given room to selfright! Unfortunately, TDP hit it from the rear and almost overturned it again, and allowed HTBP4 to get under it and ram it into the wall, then continue its axing project!
While The Doomsday Project waited, Heir To Black Panther IV lifted Wedgie 5 up and over so it could attack the underbelly - Wedgie 5 fired its flipper and was hit by the axe, a blow which sent it to one side of HTBP4, allowing it to selfright and run, then come back as HTBP4 and TDP ran towards it! HTBP4 and Wedgie 5 just knocked each other as they went past, then Wedgie 5 went for TDP, getting to its side, slipping past the skirt and overturning it, before running it towards the pit release! TDP selfrighted off the flipper, so Wedgie 5 went for it again, but was suddenly attacked side on by HTBP4, who overturned it again and axed the underbelly before Wedgie 5 attempted to selfright again! TDP came in and hit Wedgie 5 in the front, causing another wound in its titanium armour and turning Wedgie 5 back over, but HTBP4 was able to catch it from behind and run it into the wall, where Wedgie 5 could not escape more axing!
After several strikes which the triangulated titanium on Wedgie 5 mainly withstood, Heir To Black Panther IV cleared the way for The Doomsday Project to cause more damage by overturning Wedgie 5 with its disc, and then again! The battered Wedgie 5 reversed away, and as HTBP4 came to attack, it managed to reach the side of the 18th seed! One end of the spatula had been bent by TDP, but the other end managed to get under HTBP4s skirt, allowing Wedgie 5 to turn in and flip! It gave HTBP4 another flip towards the pit release, and followed it there, but HTBP4 quickly selfrighted, and TDP attacked Wedgie 5, brushing it and almost turning it over! Another blow sent Wedgie 5 all the way over, and HTBP4 took advantage by bundling it into the pit release corner and beginning to axe the underbelly again! Wedgie 5 tried to selfright, pushing HTBP4 away and sending itself onto its wheels thanks to its rollover bars! HTBP4 and Wedgie 5 became parallel to each other again as they attacked, and again TDP chose its moment to attack, hitting Wedgie 5 in the rear! HTBP4 made its move - and was accidentally hit by TDPs disc, flying under Wedgie 5 and helping to turn it over! Wedgie 5 was able to selfright and went on the attack on HTBP4 again, but then time ran out! With Star 69 long gone, who would go through from the remaining three?
CEASE!
Aggression: HTBP4 - 4, TDP - 3, Wedgie 5 - 3 (HTBP4 was the most aggressive)
Damage: HTBP4 - 2, TDP - 8, Wedgie 5 - 0 (TDPs disc caused the most damage, and HTBP4 did some with its axe, while Wedgie 5 didnt damage anyone)
Strategy: HTBP4 - 4, TDP - 4, Wedgie 5 - 2 (all robots had fairly simple strategies, but HTBP4 and TDP get the most points for their teamup)
Control: HTBP4 - 3, TDP - 4, Wedgie 5 - 3 (all robots were pretty evenly controlled, but HTBP4 and Wedgie 5 missed an attack on each other at one point and HTBP4 was accidentally hit by TDP, so TDP gets the most points)
Style: HTBP4 - 2, TDP - 4, Wedgie 5 - 4 (TDPs disc attacks and Wedgie 5s flips were more stylish than HTBP4s axing and lifting)
Dominance: HTBP4 - 5, TDP - 3, Wedgie 5 - 2 (HTBP4 did the most attacking, while TDP got in less attacks but was still mainly dominant over Wedgie 5)
Final Score: Heir To Black Panther IV - 20, The Doomsday Project - 26, Wedgie 5 - 14
Star 69 and Wedgie 5 are eliminated!
HEIR TO BLACK PANTHER IV AND THE DOOMSDAY PROJECT GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat P, Round 2:
WX 6.0 (2) vs The Doomsday Project
Heir To Black Panther IV (18) vs VGer
Predictions:
Doomsday to make mincemeat of the number 2 seeds.
HTBP to pull off an upset against the unseeded machine from the mind of Nick!
WX 6.0 (2) vs The Doomsday Project
Simple, put on the concave scoop and always keep the front towards it so any attacks can be easily blocked with the scoop. Once the disc is stalled I can safely use a ram to push it into danager, and hopefully down the pit.
Woohoo! :proud: Wonderful stuff, Richie! If only Doomsday would work as well on that hedgehog... :lame:
HEAT P
ROUND 2
1) THE DOOMSDAY PROJECT Vs WX 6.0 (2)
Like Andy, my plan is simple too - try to get around the sides n rear of the No.2 seed and try to rip it open! Failing that, open the Pit, scoop underneath it from the sides and slam it in. A few aggressive flips from the srimech may benefit me also if we end up going to the Judges
2) Heir to Black Panther IV (18) VS VGer
The Heir to boldly go where many bots have gone before - the scrapyard. :proud:
Bump
*Slaps Devon round the back of the head with a sheet of Hardox*
Be patient, boy! :lame:
hit and run! avoid getting hit is also very important, i can outrun him i think
