Son of Ripper 5.0 vs. Rammy Mk 3: Hmm... well, Son of Ripper has a huge spinner on the back so I think that the blade will immobilize Rammy and then Son of Ripper will chuck it over the fence.
One fight up for now. Alex basically gave me his tactics over MSN.

Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus (6) vs. Achilles
Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus (6) helped everybody put the house robots out of the arena, but then decided to sneakily attack Chaos 2, who ended up likewise.
Achilles tosses Tough As Nails out of the arena in 16 seconds, with help from Rammy Mk 3.

ACTIVATE!!
Two uber-flippers, one spot up for grabs in the heat final. Achilles seems to want it badly because he€™s flown off straight towards Die-Ceratops and manoeuvres his machine around the big flipper to get at the sides. Chris isn€™t keen on getting a flip himself and Die-Ceratops brings a wheel back, putting the two face to face. Knowing that he€™ll hardly ever get around to Achilles€™ sides and rear, he just bores full on at Achilles€™ flipper. But Alex knows he may find himself at a disadvantage, and decides to play it safe: Achilles avoids the charge and turns...to face Die-Ceratops€™ flipper again! Chris hadn€™t been fooled, and knew Alex would try to find a way around this; fortunately for him Alex hadn€™t anticipated how fast Die-Ceratops could turn, but Alex means business now. Achilles repeats his tactic, only this time he goes almost a half-circle around, using his excellent manoeuvrability to turn around and spin past Die-Ceratops€™ flipper, and comes in for a flip! He gets it! FLIP! Die-Ceratops is too late to avoid it as he sails through the air and lands right in front of Achilles, who eagerly charges forth! Die-Ceratops is slammed into and wedged, and brought to the arena wall! However Chris is ready for it and Die-Ceratops opens the flipper, launching himself off of Achilles€™ wedge and to the side of the beefy box. Achilles halts mid-charge, just before the wall, and turns around, his plan foiled a little, but is not deterred and comes towards the Wheely Big Cheese-based Team Dinowarrior bot. Die-Ceratops drives off and spins around just as Achilles catches up with him. However Achilles DOES come off the better of the two, as neither can get under the other, and with a great CLANG they come together, wedge-to-wedge, but it€™s Achilles with the greater pushing power and he forces Die-Ceratops back towards one of the CPZs! Chris spins his bot off the charge, Alex alert and waiting for it as Achilles chases him down. Tira-san seems a little sad that she didn€™t get to attack. Die-Ceratops spins once again, a little too late as Achilles bursts in, however Die-Ceratops€™ flipper bangs against Achilles€™ side skirt and up into the side armour, meaning Achilles only gets under the wheel of Die-Ceratops, but FLIP! he takes the opportunity presented to him. Die-Ceratops is taken for a loop and does a near perfect 360 before crashing down onto his wheels and driving away. Achilles is again the more persistent and follows, and again Die-Ceratops turns, but this time Achilles goes off course and towards the slightly exposed wheels. A flick of the controls and Chris has directed Die-Ceratops€™ right wheel ONTO and OVER Achilles€™ wedge, and Alex fires the flipper of Achilles. FLIP! Die-Ceratops tumbles onto his back but that€™s okay, and Die-Ceratops whips around to get at Achilles€™ rear end. Achilles is faster and also whips around, but Die-Ceratops gets him! The side skirt is slid under, and the 6th seed tilts the box onto his wedge, ready for action! House bots or OOTA? Ah, the safest bet, the house bots. :proud: FLIP! A toss from Die-Ceratops and Achilles is sent flying across the arena, Die-Ceratops driving under his shadow, and landing near Taki-san€™s CPZ, upside-down! Die-Ceratops closes the flipper quickly and slams Achilles into the wall to prevent the T-bar from righting Achilles, and slides under again! Alex tries firing the flipper instead: it sort of works, and Achilles finds himself on his wheels. Unfortunately, that means he€™s put himself right in front of Taki€™s cutting blade!
CRASH!!!
Nasty hit, the 5mm titanium on the flipper gashed slightly from the impact, and Achilles tries to get out, but Die-Ceratops nudges him from behind, and in comes a new threat: Tira-san! FLIP! Die-Ceratops flips Achilles again, and he lands right on top of Taki€™s electric wedge, and is lifted up. Tira isn€™t interested in Achilles, however: she€™s coming straight for Die-Ceratops! €œVengeance!€ cries the fembot! Too bad, as the flipper defeats the blade and sends Tira flying, and quite a mighty toss too, as it sends her right over the fence! The blade hits the polycarbonate outside the arena!
CRASH!
And Tira is caught in a wreckage of polycarbonate, and her own sparks, humiliation increased tenfold. Luckily, nothing major was damaged, but now back to the action. Achilles flips himself off of Taki€™s wedge, only to be caught by Die-Ceratops and tossed across the arena once more! Luckily he lands right side up, and definitely back in business. Now Chris knows he has to strike; Die-Ceratops launches himself towards the PTT5 champ and is amazed with his luck, as Achilles seems to have temporarily forgotten about his previous tactics and laid there to rest. It costs him and Die-Ceratops comes forward and...Achilles fires his flipper. FLIP! Well done, Alex, as Achilles just avoids the OOTA and tips onto his back, closes the flipper, but Die-Ceratops is there again, and wedges him before he can right himself. FLIP! Achilles righted, but now DIRECTLY on Die-Ceratops€™ wedge. Oh, shenanigans can€™t be too far away...
FA-LIP!!!
Die-Ceratops lets out a HUGE toss, and Achilles is rocketed all the way across the arena, over top of Die-Ceratops, over the arena saws, over the flame pit...and coming to rest just passing the pit!!! Achilles rights himself once more, seemingly able to take the beatings his opponent can dish out, and thus proving his durability. But Chris isn€™t finished yet. Die-Ceratops is once more on the attack, and Achilles comes out to meet the charge, but again swerves off to one side to try and trick him. Die-Ceratops backs off and tries to line him up again...to find Achilles at his side! FLIP! Die-Ceratops is given a slight dose of his own medicine, doing another 360, but hightailing it before Alex can resume the attack. Achilles pursues Die-Ceratops across the arena, and we have another spin from Die-Ceratops as Achilles€™ front wedge meets Die-Ceratops€™, and Chris smiles as the 6th seed triumphs! Achilles is driven onto the wedge, and FLIP!!! Another great toss, not as big as before, but still quite large as Achilles goes into an empty CPZ, again on his back! Taki hurries over quickly.

Achilles rights himself but is too late to avoid a house robot charge as Taki pulps him into the side wall, Die-Ceratops joining a moment later.

The side skirt is defeated and Taki raises him up into the air. Die-Ceratops drives forward, and actually wedges Taki instead. :proud:

FLIP! Taki goes over, and Achilles is released, who seems to be having trouble moving quickly...

Son of Ripper 5.0 tossed The Watcher over the fence and then helped Die-Ceratops out of a sticky situation, resulting in Chaos 2 taking a trip OOTA.
Rammy Mk 3 picked on Tough As Nails, and prevented him from being able to move, and Achilles performed the inevitable tossing from the warzone.

Veterans collide! And Rammy has made good use of his speed advantage, off towards SoR, who isn€™t thinking the same strategy and decides to skive off of a front-end collision, backing off diagonally. Rammy€™s front wheels turn and point into the direction of SoR, but even though they carry him too far and past SoR, the momentum spins him around and points him directly at SoR€™s side! Instead of turning around and risking a frontal assault, AJ drives SoR forward and away from Rammy. The judges aren€™t impressed. Martyn is appalled by this seeming-to-be-cowardly display of tactics and manoeuvres Rammy to line-up with the fleeing SoR. SoR goes for the pit release button and opens it, just as Rammy begins its take down. SoR turns and actually is hit, but only at the rear of the side skirt and turned around. This works incredibly in his favour because he is now facing Rammy€™s side! Deciding it would be better to take the chance, AJ goes for the skirt. Penetration...unsuccessful. The flipping arm fails to get under the skirt. Thus, Rammy backs away and tries another ram. SoR also backs off but Rammy turns in SoR€™s direction and hammers him in the front! However it€™s not at all in Martyn€™s favour, as the flipping arm does get under the wedge! Horrified, Martyn tries to back Rammy off but SoR is pushing him back towards the wall, and...Rammy pushes back! FLIP! SoR finally activates the flipper, only sending the wedge up on an angle, but lifting it up enough to get under the rest of Rammy. The arm lowers, and...FLIP! flicks up again! Rammy is inverted! And guess what? No difference. Rammy quickly drives off before SoR can have a go at the rear skirt. SoR chases after him now, but with that speed advantage Rammy easily loses him, and then turns around, exposing the wedge. SoR stops, and AJ seems to be thinking of a way to get around the wedge, but he doesn€™t have a lot of time to do it in because Rammy is coming for SoR in a hurry! And SoR responds, by repeating its first strategy: wheeling backwards in a 270. Rammy turns, and is again carried too far, and SoR gets his chance with the exposed rear skirt!
CRASH!
It€™s a good hit, but not enough to separate the skirt from the armour. It does, however, bend the skirt at the middle and give SoR a better percentage of sliding under it! AJ grins, but Martyn has an ugly look on his face, and decides to play as dirty as SoR. Rammy backs into the dormant blade, and begins to push SoR back. SoR spins right around, and the flipping comes forth...to meet Rammy€™s wedge! Martyn acted quickly and now Rammy has gotten his own under SoR€™s flipping arm, and ultimately the entire front wedge of SoR! This turn of events now has Rammy pushing SoR towards the arena wall...WHAM! SoR is pounded harshly against it. Luckily the blade was still dormant, and...the wedge starts to lift SoR! SoR is tilted higher, and higher...and too high, as SoR topples off and makes a gangway towards the arena saws. Rammy follows quickly as SoR€™s once-immobile blade is now spinning back up. AJ plays his tactics again quickly, turning to the side and again Rammy goes by too quickly...score another hit for the blade!
CRASH!!!
Lovely hit! That did more than bend the side skirt - it ripped it clean off! Martyn is looking worried now that the aforementioned side and rear are vulnerable to the flipping arm, but soldiers on - Rammy turns and rams SoR again, but only his side skirt. Unable to get under it, he tries to lower the wedge further into the ground, but this allows SoR to get away. Rammy, agitated, pursues him across the arena - BZZ! OOH! SoR takes a shot from the arena saws, but they don€™t seem to have done much damage, indeed hardly any at all. They have momentarily delayed him, though, and that€™s all Rammy needs. The side skirt of SoR is smacked into again, and this time it€™s successful! AJ frantically tries to get moving and get off of the wedge, but not today, sir! WHAM! Rammy smacks SoR into the wall much such force that SoR bounces off and almost gets flipped right over! ...oh no! Rammy€™s stuck his wedge in the arena side wall! This isn€™t good for Martyn! SoR comes back in, and using the spun-up blade slices into the other side skirt!
CRASH!!!
A lot of sparks, and another bent skirt will be added to that result! This does free Rammy from the wall though, and Rammy turning smashes into the rear of SoR with the wedge, trying to lift it up to get some aggression going but SoR does a nice 270 and finds its flipping arm at the previously bent side skirt. The bending did the job that AJ wanted, as SoR slides under and we have a FLIP! Rammy is righted but not looking particularly pleasant, and SoR comes in again with the blade. Rammy drives off in panic of that blade and turns around to point the wedge at SoR. SoR turns and does the like with his own wedge. So we€™re back at square one again, folks. Both charge at each other, and SoR goes slightly off-track, going towards Rammy€™s side. Martyn flicks his controls and Rammy smacks against the rear of SoR€™s side skirt again, this time getting under it and sending SoR into a wild spin as he goes by. AJ growls at this, and SoR backs into Rammy, who gets the wedge pointed at him again. However by the time he€™s done this, SoR€™s already gone by and at his side again!
CRASH!!!
The bent skirt comes off almost effortlessly this time, and the blade continues to spin!

The hardox puts up with the hit much better than the skirt did, indeed taking hardly any damage at all. Rammy and SoR both turn around and their sides collide. SoR€™s side skirt actually slides under Rammy€™s own side. Seeing this, AJ backs up a little and gets the flipper slightly under the side of Rammy. Rammy backs up but SoR turns clockwise so he€™s under the wedge. Gunning the motors he tries to push Rammy back towards the wall but Rammy pushes him back instead! FLIP! SoR does the inevitable flick of the arm and Rammy is thrown up on the wedge entirely. SoR carries him to the wall, stops just short of the wall...FLIP! Rammy hits the wall and now seems to be stacked up against it. A push on the controls from Martyn raises the wedge against the wall and pushes Rammy forwards...but it€™s much too late.

SoR drives forward, gets under the rear, and FLIP! Rammy soars over the wall...and out of the tournament.

Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus (6) vs. Son of Ripper 5.0: SOR is a good robot, but can it really match the pure weapon power of Die-Ceratops? No methinks - Chris to wedge him and flip him OOTA! GO CHRIS!
TACTICS
Use the same tactics I used in the previous round. I think that the wedge my flipper makes, as long and thin as it is, should be too low for the spinning bar to have a great effect.

This is a very good vapourbot, but I beleive there is also a good chance of me beating it. Using my manouverability advantage, Im going to go for some more hit and run tactics. The bar did some nice damage to Rammy Mk 3 in the last round, so Im going to attempt to do the same here. Those slightly-exposed wheels are a target if I can get them, but my main priority is carving some nice slices in the wedge. The flippers are pretty irrelevant in this match, as we can both flip and both work upside down. So Ill keep mine as more of a self righting device more than anything. My target will be to use my agility to get in and out of attacks, my extra power to shove it around, and the bar to cause some nice damage to the wheels and flipper.

After a brutal first round in which the house robots and Chaos 2 got utterly annihilated, Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus (6) struggled and ultimately overcame Achilles, as Son of Ripper 5.0 managed to sneak in an OOTA on Rammy Mk 3 before time ran out.

Another heat final we€™re at, and it€™s Die-Ceratops who comes out first, copying Rammy€™s tactics from before and wanting a frontal conflict. AJ has no intention of letting such a conflict happen and SoR wheels off towards Die-Ceratops€™ side. Die-Ceratops spins around, careful to push his left wheel as he does so, and has positioned himself right in front of SoR! ...who runs off. :proud: Die-Ceratops is in hot pursuit, but unlike Rammy Mk 3 can€™t seem to catch up to SoR as fast, and SoR suddenly stops, and backs up, just before Chris realizes what€™s happening. The blade hits the flipper!
CRASH!!!
Well! That certainly did some damage! The side of Die-Ceratops€™ flipper has been gashed horribly by that hit! Die-Ceratops is also momentarily phased by the hit and AJ snatches the opportunity while it€™s there: SoR spins around and gets under the gashed side of the flipper with his own. Yet no flip...WHAM! SoR takes Die-Ceratops right to the wall and smacks him into it with sheer brute force! Die-Ceratops bounces...right into the spun-up blade again!
CRASH!!!
The top of the flipper takes it this time, another tear in the 8mm titanium, though not as big as the previous one. SoR spins again, and just catches the wheel of Die-Ceratops as Chris drives away...but not far enough. SoR activates the flipper and FLIP! AJ gets the effect he wants: Die-Ceratops is tipped up and over, stunned briefly, and that€™s what SoR needs to slam into Chris€™ bot and take it to the wall again! WHAM! FLIP! Oh! SoR attempts an OOTA but nope, not powerful enough of a flip to get him over the wall, but Die-Ceratops lands back onto the wedge. Chris is really starting to become sick of this charade. Die-Ceratops tosses himself off the wedge of SoR and jets off, wanting to go anywhere else but where he was previously. SoR ain€™t thinking of letting this fight go yet and advances with the spinning bar, as Die-Ceratops turns around. SoR halts, and tries to go to the side of Die-Ceratops but Chris watches this with narrowed eyes and Die-Ceratops turns almost in perfect synchronization with SoR. This means he gets right under SoR with the flipper! FLIP!!! AJ€™s eyes follow his robot as it flies through the air, bouncing up off the saws which pop up, and rests on his back. The 6th seed comes in now, looking for a death blow, but SoR isn€™t easily as defeated as that. Being fully invertible, he drives off and away from Die-Ceratops, and FLIP! that rights him. Unfortunately the time consumed from that righting allowed Chris to come in again and the flipper slides under SoR for a second time! And now he€™s taking SoR to the arena wall - NO! SoR rides off the wedge! Chris pounds the wall in the control booth in anger, his plan looked perfect. And now AJ makes him pay for it: SoR backs into the side of the flipper and -
CRASH!!!
OOHH!!! WHAT DAMAGE! It just nicked the upper edge of flipper, and the top flipper panel is buckled, and completely loose! It definitely won€™t work properly now! FLIP! Die-Ceratops flips himself over using the lower panel, to try and use the other side of the flipper to get under. SoR slams into the front now, and Chris€™ thought is wrong, as the flipper gets under Die-Ceratops and FLIP! Die-Ceratops is tossed over! Die-Ceratops also seems to be having some control problems, because he€™s only moving in circles! SoR backs off, right towards the pit release button. Chris can€™t do anything than move his bot in circles, and that€™s no good, as The Watcher comes forward, and after a moment€™s slight hesitation begins his countdown!
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!
Another seed falls lower! And the house bots move in! Double Whamlet is the first to enter, scooping up Die-Ceratops, lifting him up with the arm and WHACK! In come all four axes at once, puncturing the flipper and grabbing the sides near the wheels as well. Double Big Mac doesn€™t want to be left out and Whamlet decides to give his buddy a treat. Bad idea. :proud: DBM hits the broken wedge of Die-Ceratops, and flies over it...STRIKING WHAMLET AT FULL GYROSCOPIC SPEED!!!

The hit is monumental! Whamlet is smashed across the arena by his buddy€™s hammers, the scoop almost ripped clean off! DBM himself is tipped over and unable to move. Whamlet however is still able to move, and spares himself any more torment by shunting the dead 6th seed down the pit.

Sheer Heart Attack will be front heavy, therefore it would be a pig to turn, I cant find anything about Aneurysm, but I would guess it would be a spinner...
...however because Kody has got a grudge against me and isnt allowing me a single win in this tournament, and seeing as QJS breaks rule 6 :lame:, Im going to ignore the other 2 machines and mainly attack the house robots, just for the hell of it.

Aneurysm (4) vs. Sheer Heart Attack vs. Quocunque Jeceris Stabit
Representing Andrew Jackson and Team ??? is the 4th seed: Aneurysm! The thing that will give most opponents a brain tumour is its horizontal laser-cut flywheel, capable of reaching 5000rpm in under 5 seconds, and at max RPM can dish out 80kJ of energy. It€™s basically an octagonal sort of body, and has a 4mm thick hardox monocoque. Its LEM130s give it a 12mph max speed. Though with a 10mm ground clearance all around, it€™s likely to get tossed over...
C&BT1: Scrapped through Bloody Tears 2, The Ultimate Wedge, and heat finalist Tails in Heat E, and then went on to rip off Warrior SKF€™s steel rim in the Series Quarter-Final, immobilizing the weapon and resulting in Warrior€™s destruction soon after. However, in the Semis, it was the reigning champion Salamander III who finally did Aneurysm in, walloping AJ€™s bot in a judges€™ decision.
Representing Martijn Benschop and Team Varying Every Day: Sheer Heart Attack! Think 101 with a smaller body and a front spinning drum capable of tearing the living hell out of you. :proud: Oh, and with two titanium bars at the rear, the already strong tracks are hardly susceptible to spinners. LEM-powered, it has a good 15mph top speed, and the 6mm titanium isn€™t too shabby either. The drum itself is 22kg and can dish out 40kJ at its max, 5000rpm.

Representing David Sheppard and his team: Quocunque Jeceris Stabit! It€™s quite old-school and ready to prove new robots that can still hang with the best. Simple wedge, high-pressure flipper, side bumps, curved rear. Its ground clearance: near-0mm at the front and 20mm at the rear. Weighs 96kg and uses Bosch€™s for power, giving it a 25mph top speed, though it€™s preferably driven at 14mph. Against spinners, however, its 5mm aluminium armour will definitely be questionable, and there are TWO in this fight...

A two spinner team-up, and both the 4th seed and Sheer Heart Attack make a gangway for Quocunque Jeceris Stabit...who attacks Obelix! Obelix however turns so that he€™s facing QJS, but fails to get underneath the wedge of QJS! And...ah, no go. Obelix is unable to be flipped over. And that signals Ancalagon€™s rampage towards the other machines. Aneurysm ignores it, and smacks his blade into the rear of QJS!
CRASH!!!
That 5mm aluminium didn€™t stand a chance! It€™s been ripped up like tinfoil! SHA is the next to attack QJS...in the same place!

WHAM, BAM, THANK YOU M€™AM! There goes QJS€™ rear panel, flying across the arena, and...FLIP! Well, how do you like that? Obelix has been toppled over, bounces, and is somehow stacked sideways against the wall, unable to right himself. But QJS isn€™t moving too fast, and -

Aneurysm slams into Dave€™s last entrant again, this time in the side! Great chunks of aluminium armour are strewn across the arena! SHA€™s attention is diverted as Ancalagon finally makes his way in. Pardon the dragonbot, but his top speed is rarely achieved due to poor acceleration. Martijn tackles the dragon€™s side.

A good hit, but no damage. Ancalagon turns quickly, and stuffs SHA into the wall. Aneurysm leaves the wounded QJS, who is for some reason still able to move, and goes for Ancalagon himself.

Another good hit, and a small dent is carved in the side wedge, but other than that, Ancalagon is completely resilient. QJS is moving quite slowly across the arena, and AJ decides to end the match now. Aneurysm stuffs the flywheel into QJS€™ semi-exposed side.

And that€™s the end of Dave Sheppard€™s tournament run. A Bosch motor just went flying across the arena, amid another shower of ripped aluminium, and QJS is a dead duck. The Watcher€™s had enough and starts counting QJS out as Ancalagon heads towards the pit with SHA in his jaws.

Roo 2 vs. Biohazard vs. The Deer
Representing Matthew Fowler and Team Devil€™s Incarnate: Roo 2! Previously Ripper Roo, it definitely was a ripper, and still is, thanks to a 38kg 1cm titanium spinning ring, with 8 lovely 10cm teeth and an rpm of 1286.4. Powered by a LEM170 motor, this thing gives out an earth-shattering 159kJ per blow! Powering it are 4 S28-150 Mags for 12BHP and a 15mph top speed. It€™s weak against rammers, obviously, but other than that, it really looks like quite the bot to beat. :proud:

Representing Alex MacWilliams and Team Targeted is a real robot: Biohazard! This bot literally screams titanium, and is quite hard to damage, despite taking heavy punishment from Megabyte (both times). Its skirts are a pain to get under, and it€™s powered by S28-400 Magmotors. It€™s a quick, low to the ground box, and that electronic lifting arm certainly isn€™t something you€™d want to go up against, but it doesn€™t have a proper srimech, and it€™s a quite old design...

Representing Martyn Forsyth and his team: The Deer! Another invertible box, with 3.6 hardox armour, and much taller than Biohazard, but like Bio it has skirts; unlike Biohazard, the skirts work both ways, meaning The Deer€™s invertible. The crushing claws are like deer€™s antlers and the hydraulic that power them produce 3.5 tonnes at the tip, and 8 tonnes at the rear. S28-400s give it an average 15mph speed. Perhaps it could be turned into venison...? :proud:

Roo 2 is spinning already, and The Deer is coming right at it! Biohazard, realizing its arm will be rather useless against its invertible opponents, goes for any opponent near him; and the nearest would be The Deer! Speaking of which...
CRASH!
Not a full-speed hit, and it€™s The Deer who€™s in control now, not able to get its claws around Roo 2€™s huge diameter and instead pushes it against the wall, pinning it. Biohazard comes in from behind and is able to penetrate The Deer€™s rear skirt. Lifting...FLIP! The Deer is flipped on top of Roo 2! Biohazard himself smacks into Roo 2 and holds him there lowering the arm a bit but unable to get it fully down because Roo€™s lid is in the way. Bio turns a bit, still pinning Roo with the corner of his skirts, but now able to lower the arm fully...and Roo 2 seems unable to move, really...Biohazard comes back in and lifts Roo 2 with The Deer on top...and is unable to flip both of them owning to The Deer being squashed against the wall. Biohazard backs off sending Roo 2 to the ground and The Deer falls on top of him, now at an angle, and Roo 2 is mobile again, as The Deer lands completely onto the ground! Biohazard isn€™t going to let Roo enjoy his freedom though, and moves in again, as Roo begins to spin. Roo 2 moves away, but Biohazard catches him with the arm.
CRASH!
Only a glancing blow, and again not fully spun-up, and Biohazard is back in, lifting Roo 2 up with the arm, and The Deer tackles Biohazard from behind! This really doesn€™t do much - OH YES IT DOES!!! The Deer€™s claws have hooked around Biohazard€™s lifting arm ram and prevented the whole arm from lowering back into place! This is awesome news for Roo 2, who begins to spin up again with those deadly 10cm teeth. The Deer tries to pull Biohazard back towards the arena saws...and Biohazard obliges! Alex moves the realie backwards, because he€™s given an alarmed look towards Roo 2, who has now reached maximum speed! The Deer now flips his plan on its head and tries to push Biohazard back towards Roo 2! Biohazard turns away and The Deer ends up steering him to the left, but Matty has watched this scene with interest and makes his move: Roo 2 comes screaming into the side of Biohazard!
CRASH!!!!
Biohazard says goodbye to his right side skirt: it€™s quite gone! Roo 2 flies backwards in recoil, and The Deer still has his grip on the arm of Biohazard. The Watcher finally strolls in and with a tap reminds The Deer that you can only hold onto an opponent for 30 seconds. Although we should have checked The Watcher for glitches because The Deer does not have Biohazard, the claw itself now seems to be caught in Biohazard€™s lifting mechanism, just like with Tazbot back in Seasons 3 and 4 of Battlebots. This delay however has allowed Roo 2 to get going again, and once more smashes into the same, now-exposed side of the Battlebots heavyweight champion.
CRASH!!!!
WHAT A HIT! The inner frame and chassis of Biohazard has been broken, and bent into the robot itself! Finally The Deer gets released from Biohazard, and it looks like that hit has really done its number, as Biohazard now begins to spout smoke, the arm stuck in the up position. The Deer backs off as Roo 2, again spinning its deadly ring up, once more plunges into Biohazard, this time right straight into the front.
CRASH!!!!
Biohazard is bashed across the arena, BOTH front skirts gone in the same hit, and coming to rest, ironically, directly on the pit. The Deer shoots and strikes the pit release button, and sends Biohazard out, and once again in Round 1.

Aneurysm VS Roo 2: Well, Matty may have the weapon factor here, and Aneurysm has the speed factor. So... Im actually going for Aneurysm to go out. If not, then Im still not at all surprised. :proud:
The Deer VS Sheer Heart Attack: The Deer has hardox and SHA has Titanium. but SHA has the more powerful weapon, and it could do the old pa-rum-pum-pum-pum on the sides and back and then the housebots could do their own damage on The Deer. :proud:
BTW Martijn, can your drum cut through hardox, by any chance?
I dont think the drum CAN cut through Hardox, but if it can get The Deer near the wall, itll drum The Deer straight OOTA! Id love to see that:
In the other fight, I think its going Roos way, as he cant be damaged by the disc as long as hes spinning - Ive heard that if youre spinning your ring, KE builds up to make you impervious to other weapons. If thats right, and it works for both robots, then the more powerful spinner will triumph, which happens to be Roo 2...:uhoh:
I predict Roo 2 will break the disc off Aneurysm, Salamander did it no trouble, and Roo is TWICE as powerful. Roo then to cause serious damage to the inner workings of Aneurysm!

Hmmm, interesting... well Roo 2 is very much overkill and Id like to think it will end up destroying itself in this match. My aim is quite simply to keep driving my own flywheel into its ring. One of us is going to get a hit in eventually. His 1cm thick of something which isnt stated and my 4mm Hardox means neither of us are going to get truly devastating hits in the damage department, so its going to come down to who can deal more shock-damage, which I beleive is Roo 2... to itself! :proud:

Pfff, all the physics and factors involved, I cant really say what will happen. I know for sure I can give the Deer a good knockin and thats exactly what I will do. Knock up (and loose perhaps?) the skirts, knock him all over the place, knock his sides, his rear, and pit the bugger :proud:.

The match begins with both spinning weapons rotating simultaneously, and gaining momentum. Roo 2 is the first to reach its full potential and whirls towards Aneurysm, who hasn€™t bothered to move away and is awaiting the ring spinner placidly. Eventually Aneurysm€™s much higher RPM weapon gets to its max, and AJ takes the plunge - straight into Roo 2€™s titanium ring!
CRASH!!!!
In the battle of flywheel vs. ring, it€™s a draw so far as sparks litter the arena, and both bots are spun away. Roo 2 seems to be okay, the ring hasn€™t really taken any damage, and the same can be said for Aneurysm€™s flywheel. Both weapons are sturdy, that€™s good. Roo 2 is spinning again, and Aneurysm likewise with his flywheel, but this time Roo 2 hurtles towards Aneurysm before the spinning ring has even got up to speed! This greatly surprises AJ and the 4th seed backs off, trying to get its own weapon up to max. Eventually he outmanoeuvres Roo 2 and gets some space to completely rev up that engine-powered flywheel. Roo 2 hurtles again; AJ turns his bot around and the sturdy weapons come in full contact again!
CRASH!!!!
Another spectacular display of light! The arena saws couldn€™t have done a better job. Both bots get tossed back again by their own recoil, and come to rest at near-opposite ends of the arena. And...well, the weapons are still in good condition. Matty is particularly pleased, the ring has taken the punishment and dished it right back. AJ grimaces; he thought Roo 2 would have exploded by now. However, Aneurysm is fine and well, the flywheel showing zero signs of weakness. This time Aneurysm is able to spin his weapon up first, and Roo 2 gets the ring going a second later. Matty still has the spin-up advantage, but by the time Roo 2 has his weapon spun-up, Aneurysm has pretty much done the like. Roo 2 tries a different tactic; he attempts to get around to the sides of Aneurysm, but the 4th seed turns, keeping the ring spinner in line with his own flywheel, and then takes him by storm!
CRASH!!!!
The difference here? Roo 2 hasn€™t flown back at all; in fact, it€™s Aneurysm who has flown back even more! WHAM! Right into the arena wall! And...Roo 2 doesn€™t seem to be able to spin up...what€™s going wrong - OOH! Damage has been caused! The ring is no longer impervious to Aneurysm€™s flywheel, and...there is still no damage to Aneurysm€™s disc! Wait a second...OH HOW SAD! Roo 2€™s steel teeth did not at all make contact with Aneurysm€™s flywheel, but the latter did, and right above the steel teeth! And the damage: the ring has been bent in, disabling it from spinning up! Roo 2 is fraught with peril now, and goes to the pit release button. In fact, he reaches it before Aneurysm can catch up. WHAM. Pit: open. :proud: But it€™s too late to avoid the blade of Aneurysm now!

The ring takes the hit...and withstands it, although lovely sparks are what the judges want to see. :proud: Roo 2 pushes Aneurysm backwards...and gets pushed right back into the pit release. Aneurysm releases him, turns around...and too late to back in and pin him, as Roo 2 is escape-d! Aneurysm goes after him, and as Roo 2 tries to make a swerve around, he nicks the ring again!

Roo 2 sent flying once more, and ooh...a dent has been made in the ring, definitely not as severe as the earlier bend-in, but relatively noticeable. Also there are some scratches near the edges of the dent, also noticeable. Aneurysm spins up the flywheel again, but Roo 2 slams into him, stopping it. In return Aneurysm stuffs him into the angle grinder. WHAM! Matt clenches his teeth as the angle grinder hits his bot...ehh...where€™s the hit? Man, the angle grinders are weak...Aneurysm releases him and spins up the flywheel, and gets treated to another feeble tackle from Roo 2. Aneurysm decides to back off and spin up his disc, and Roo 2 is after him to stop it, but Aneurysm turns and rams towards him with the rear end. Matt pushes the controls, forcing Roo 2 into a slight spin, and faster, somewhat reminiscent of the spinning rim, unfortunately being way too slow, and Aneurysm is indeed not at all by the spin and stopping forces Roo 2 back towards the wall...oof. Roo 2 stuffed back into the wall. Aneurysm turns...Roo 2? Roo 2? Hello? You€™re supposed to be moving away? Especially when there€™s a 11500RPM flywheel coming at you?!

Roo 2 is tattered. That hit did more visual damage than the other hits combined: the ring is heavily gashed, an area above two teeth literally torn right out. It seemed that Roo 2 somehow got immobilized right as Aneurysm pushed him against the wall, maybe something got knocked loose. This hit just now, I think, is the clincher. AJ, satisfied, moves his 4th seed away as The Watcher brings his judgement upon the sorry-looking Roo 2.

A quick start for Sheer Heart Attack, and The Deer proves likewise. Both move right towards each other. In the blink of an eye, however, Martijn steers SHA right towards one of The Deer€™s claws at the last second, and instead of a CRASH, a THUD is heard, and The Deer gets jolted into the air very quickly! SHA sees his chance and moves under The Deer€™s claws, drum spinning away. Bad news and good news for SHA. The bad news: The Deer has hooked his claws around one of SHA€™s tracks, and is squeezing it, although unable to pierce or pressure the tracks within. The good news? The Deer€™s wheels are completely off the ground! :proud: Martyn realizing it lets go of SHA€™s track, but SHA whacks him with the drum.
CRASH!
No damage to the 4mm hardox, but it€™s done something much more creditable; it€™s pushed The Deer further onto SHA and got it stuck! SHA turns around and heads for the pit release button. WHAM! Nailed. The pit descends into the floor once more, and the button...is shredded. :angry: Will you stop destroying the pit release?! Oh, what€™s this? The Deer again has SHA€™s side in its pincers, but unable to stop the tracks from functioning. This however means that The Deer is locked onto SHA and will not let go. Smart tactic. SHA moves towards the pit...and stops. This is a bit of a predicament: Martijn doesn€™t know how he€™s going to get The Deer, who is currently clamping down on top of him, down the pit. He starts spinning around, and that€™s when Martyn opens The Deer€™s pincers, sending The Deer flying off of SHA...AND ON THE EDGE OF THE PIT!!! REALLY not what Martyn was expecting!!! One wheel is hovering right over the pit!!! He can€™t get away! It could be over! AND IT IS!!! Sheer Heart Attack has just given his adversary the final nudge that sends The Deer toppling into the dark abyss of doom!

Horizontal tends to beat vertical (from what Ive seen anyway) so Ill go for Aneurysm to win. Evenly matched though.
Well, if Aneurysm wins then AJ will have 3 robots in the semis, which is unlikely, so Ill go for Sheer Heart Attack to win.

Having three robots in the semi finals isnt unheard of, Ive seen four robots from the same squad go through before.

It shouldnt make a difference anyway. Im picking Aneurysm too. Even though I disagree with the horizontal beats vertical statement.
Horizontal does seem to beat vertical every time I see it though. Nightmare going disc to disc with Warhead? Warhead wins. Same vs Son of Whyachi. Nightmare = obliterated. Fluffy took off Pussycats saw, X-Terminator couldnt seem to touch Typhoon 2... I honestly cant think of a single time a vertical spinner has come into contact with a horizontal one and come out on top.
Warhead beat Nightmare because it smashed the wheel and motors in, not because of disc on disc confrontation. Nightmare vs. SoW was pretty much in fault due to the poor timing of the floor flippers, which pretty much ended Nightmares chance and disallowed anyone the possibility to see the outcome (Nightmares plan was to hit SoWs cage at an angle, thus pulling it in and flipping it up). Pussycat I would discount as a vertical spinner since it really is a saw, and had much less mass (and therefore force) than Fluffys bar. X-Terminator had pretty much the same sort of problem, but it had a pretty poor cage for the vertical spinner and was easily knocked out of place. Typhoon also had a much higher top speed as well as a much heavier shell up against X-Terminators (proportionally) lighter and slower disc. Typhoons greater force would have, and did easily knock X-Terminators disc out.
Vertical Spinners have a poor track record against, but thats simply because building a robot with a fast, heavy, horizontal spinner is a lot easier than with a vertical one. Horizontal Spinners have the ability to carry much more force behind each hit than your average Vertical. For this reason, though, I would pick Anyeurism to win.
Katjusha (pic on profile) won the AWS 21, came second twice, and never lost against a horizontal spinner. And not for the lack of trying either.

I seem to have a large backing based on the vertical vs. horizontal history, but something stands out to me much more than that. Those exposed tracks. In fact, hopefully this should be a fairly straightforward victory. The plan is simple, spin up and target those tracks. If I can get them where they are exposed at the front it should be game over. In a similar manner, hopefully some big hits on the side panels will cave them inwards and jam the tracks up. Those panels are only 6mm titanium, and I can recall Hypnodisc slicing up some 8mm titanium before so this shouldn€™t be an issue.
3 vapourbots in the semi-finals would be very nice indeed. :)

The quicker they are, well...you figure it out. :proud: Aneurysm heads right for the sides of SHA, but SHA...heads right for the weapon of Aneurysm! Aneurysm, though it could doubtless see some advantages in this, also sees the disadvantages in this, and decides not to clash weapons and take that chance, instead exposing its side!
CRASH!
Aneurysm is jolted into the air...but manages to stay upright thanks to the flywheel€™s gyroscopic force. This makes it look like it jumps :proud:, and slams back down onto the ground, the drum having caused minimal damage to the 4mm hardox. AJ turns Aneurysm around, and capitalizes on the stopped drum and smacks into it with the flywheel, just as the drum begins spinning again.
CRASH!!
Ouch! SHA sent spinning by that hit, but the titanium drum...is okay. Martijn is quite lucky with that, and now sees the 4th seed hurrying away to spin up his flywheel. SHA chases after him and before Aneurysm can fully spin up his flywheel, SHA lays the blow...ON THE BLADE!
CRASH!!
Not maximum potential, but still harsh enough to send SHA flying back...and Aneurysm...is alright, slight hesitation, but the disc is spinning again. SHA gets his own drum spinning and manoeuvres around trying to get to Aneurysm€™s sides...which he does!
CRASH!
Another gyroscopic hit, pleasing the Dutch lad :proud:, and Aneurysm is knocked against the wall! SHA moves in, not wanting for a fully spun-up drum hit, and smacks against him...with no effect. AJ smirks and frees Aneurysm from the drum, turning around to find SHA gone. Such a quick devil. :proud: With both spinners spun-up, they decide €œto hell with this€Â, and make the suicide dive!
CRASH!!!
Both bots have been sent flying by that huge hit, that€™s definitely for sure. SHA is smacked against the arena wall, the drum completely disabled, and sporting several smashed teeth. Aneurysm...Aneurysm? ...not moving. He€™s lying right near the floor flipper. WHOA! There€™s heaps of smoke coming out of Aneurysm! Of course, you realize what this means, gentlemen. It means that another seed is about to Crash and Burn. :proud: The Watcher, yeah, he€™s coming over, he€™s gonna count Aneurysm out, the crowd will love it, yeah... :proud:

It€™s over for the 4th seed, in a heat final upset, and Martijn should be thanking his stars because BOY HE GOT LUCKY. Taki-san and Double Whamlet rush out to send Aneurysm to robo-hell. WHACK! A smack from Whamlet€™s full pressure twin axes and the hardox is dented. A push from Taki, a few seconds later, and FLIP! We are treated to a delightful flight performance from Aneurysm courtesy of the floor flipper! :proud: SHA backs into the pit release button and goes for Aneurysm, possibly to end this before it becomes too much to bear...too late. Whamlet screams in and smashes into Aneurysm from the side, lifting him with the plow arm and...OOTA? Wow, first OOTA for Whamlet, he must be sooo proud. :proud: AJ groans, and leaves, now awaiting the semis.
