Whats the line up for the rest of the heats?
Todays Line Up:
Friday 25th August
Heavy weight
Pod I Behemoth Swarm Alien destructor3 Killer Carrot2
Pod J Ripper Dantomkia CCW02 Tilly
Pod K Big Nipper Hades Weird Alice2 Edgehog
Pod L Scorpion IG88 Ewe2 ToyotaBot
Feather weight
Heat 5 Rip Hornet Small Cheese
Vertigo Byte Dragon Strike
Heat 6 Scorpion Evil Woodpecker KR3
Little Spinner Push-n-Shove Dizzy Tilly
Sewer Snake is out then?
Seems like it - bit of a shame considering how far theyve travelled but then again, thats robot combat :)
Predictions:
Pod I - Being from Scotland, my insticnt would be to say Swarm to go through but I reckon Behemoths reliability and experience will stand them in good stead and that swings my prediction towards them.
Pod J - Close one I reckon between Ripper and Dantomkia although I dont know much about Tilly or CCW02, but Id have to say......Ripper.
Pod K - Big Nipper Id have to go for due to its versatility, engineering and experience.
Pod L - I love how Ewe2 looks (nothing elaborate, just looks cool) and the Scorpion team seem to be the kings of spin, so I reckon theyll be tough opposition but personally I think Ewe2 can see it through.
Feathers:
Heat 5 - Hornet and Byte again for the Scotland thing (god, what are we like :)), Vertigo and Dragon Strike to progress.
Heat 6 - Scorpion Evil, KR3, Dizzy Tilly and Little Spinner to get through this one.
Judging by my last predictions I was quite a bit off, wonder if Ill be any closer today
Just had an update, yes Sewer Snake is out - something to do with their wheels jamming up.
Kan Opener out, Beast stacked them up against the side wall apparently.
Tilly has beaten CCW02
and Scorpion took out Ewe2 in one hit

I could be wrong but didnt i see ewe2 for sale on here a few months ago. cant find the old thread to check.
the reserve price may be lower now :)
seriously though, hope its ok as it would be a shame to see Ewe2 disappear.
EWE2 for sale - http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/discus/messages/89/5537.html?1148655625http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/disc....html?11486556 25
Thought i saw it, just wondered if it had new owners, would be a shame to see it disapear,is a good machine
and Scorpion took out Ewe2 in one hit
Ach well, that stuffed up my prediction lol
Not strictly true, it took 3 hits!!
Any news on todays Heats?
Update ......Beast thru ......Ka-pow! out.
Yep, a few hits from Scorpion and we were out  Not sure what happened, everything just died. I took it back to the pits, powered it up and everything was fine (except for the big holes through our steel armour and a gas bottle with a chunk out of it that was pretty unbelievable considering the disk had to go through 3mm steel first!).
But all is well as EWE2 went on to win its next friendly fight.
But watch out for Scorpions disc .. it packs a bit of a punch!!
Ian
Shame Ka-pow! is out, had a nice chat with John, and marvelled at your arcane pneumatics Woody.. it was pretty evenly matched against Beast.
Carrot was useless, duff battery, and my foolishly forgetting to wind in the reg meant our first fight with Alien destructor II was more of a tickle match.. sorted out the battery and reg, but didnt get to stay in the arena long enough with behemoth to play (very good driving chaps).
At home now drinking tea and remembering why I started playing with featherweights (no back ache, scarred hands, torn trousers etc...)
Behemoth beat Swarm, then? Or is it some kind of double elimination system?
(Message edited by mikeyg on August 26, 2006)
Swarm failed to run,the floor was a bit too undulating and Gary couldnt get drive so Behemoth was awarded the win. Gary spent the day trying to adjust bits, but really needed a workshop with a dril press and all those tools you dont get in a field..(trying to drill titanium with a cordless hand drill is a problem) he struggled on bravely but in the end had to admit it wasnt going to be a runner.
Thats a shame.
Cheers Rob:).
how about feathers what happend in the feathers yesterday?
Whats the line up for tomorrow ?
Thanks for those kind words Rob!
Weve had some problems, so getting to a playoff in one of the tougher pods was more than I expected. We were even doing quite well in the second match against Beast until we got stuck upside down! We took quite a bit of minor damage from Kan-Opener in the previous fight- nothing structural but enough to create quite a bit of work. As usual Woody performed miracles, improvising a new electronic switch for the weapon among other things.
Although theyve run out of gearboxes and cant run an active lifter, Sewer Snake were really starting to find the range today in the international competition. Highlight of the afternoon session was a melee with Sewer Snake, Storm II, Behemoth and CCW02. Very entertaining indeed with Sewer Snake really showing its paces and an amazing blink-and-you-missed-it moment with Storm II driving under Behemoth, who was down the pit, and popping him out at the cost of getting stuck in the pit instead. Im looking forward to seeing that one again in slo-mo on the DVD!
So who is in the finals on Sunday then?
Turb beat Storm 2 in the finals.
In the finals or final ?
The winner of the heavyweight event is TURB!!
WAY TO GO DAVEY BOY !!! (I will never hear the last of this on msn)
Congratulations to Dave and the turbulence team, good to see it beating all the usual suspects.
What was the rest of the line up ?
Sounds like Turbulence No1
Storm 2 No.2
3?
4?
Did Nippers anti spinner weapon work?
Did Terrahurtz manage to dent Storm2?
Did anyone manage to weld the wheels on the little feather (push and shove?)

Featherweight Champion: Captain Scarlet- very impressive performance from an inexpensive kit. Well driven throughout and looked to have very good handling.
International Champ: Kronic
Annihilator winner: Dantomkia
Congratulations to the winners and to Roaming Robots for a great tournament!
Well done too to Pulveriser, which proved to be very effective indeed and came 4th, suprising many, an excellent performance by Spike to finish runner-up in the Annihilator and a podium finish in 3rd for Beast, justifying its high ranking and overcoming problems with the flipper blade.
