Quite a lot of Ripper also did a runner from Ripper! Was that lack of commitment or not enough gaffer tape? :)
that was lack of gaffer tape and lack of commitment !!!!!, considering the polycarb fixings had already broken im suprised they stayed on as long as they did.
one funny part is, no polycarb left, and the axe going inside the robot and hitting the arena floor, how many other robots can claim that !!! :)
And at the end of it all the pig ended standing upright in the middle of the arena looking none the worse for wear. It would have been better to tape Steve to to it - he did offer after all (for about a nanosecond). Reminded me of Slim Pickens at the end of Dr Strangelove riding the bomb to oblivion
Come on Stu, give the pig a point. :)
Pleeeeeaseeeeee!!!!!!!
Not to show a sign of weakness but...
OK OK OK THE PIG CAN HAVE THE POINTS....
(If im honest, i honest to god missed the points for the pig, so have added them on now! Go PIG!)
The Pink Pig is ding better than...
Reptirron 2nd, Kan-Opener, The Wall, Taurus, Iron Awe, Scrap Dragon, JudgeShred 4, Bulldog Breed, Spearhead, Air, Behemoth, St Agro.
HEHEHE.
Mr Stu
PS - Update email about the Winter Tour Final sitaution on whos taking part in the big knock out competition will be sent out in the next few days.

Hi guys :)
Just thought I mention that the travel inn and premierlodge havent got any rooms for the Doncaster weekend, think its the pre-Christmas rush or something. We scouted around and weve found a hotel thats just £36.50 for a double room per night and is 2 minutes walk away from the venue. If anyones interested the details are:- Campanile Hotel Doncaster, Tel:01302 370770, Fax: 01302370813, Email: Doncaster@envergure.co.uk

I still cant see the pics on the tour web site on my computer at home - anyone have any suggestions as to whats wrong? BTW Im not having problems with anything else on the site
Karoline,
All I can suggest is that you load Internet explorer (I assume that the one you are using) without being connected to the net and clear out the Temp files and Cookies, then click the Default settings button, set the security & cookie settings to low and test to see if it works. If so then increase the security/cookie settings to midway. The highest settings are a real pain, Have you got SP2?
For the Doncaster event weve found an Innkeepers Lodge about 1.6 miles away for the venue
Website is http://www.innkeeperslodge.comwww.innkeeperslodge.com
Room = £45 per night (double or twin) and includes breakfast
Thanks Mark, Ill try what you suggest by looking at the security settings as I regularly have a clear out of unwanted junk.
I doubt if SP2 is anything to do with it as I checked back on this thread and I first reported it on 2nd Oct so it was running OK before then and Ive had no problems with SP2 either in installation or running programs.
I also have a hunch that it may be the .jpeg security update thats responsible because it was about then that it happened.
Run AdAware from lavasoft
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
Click the Majorgeeks link at the bottom and then click one of the mirrors. With SP2 youll need to click the if your download doesnt start click here link to download the program.
This will check your system for spyware, which at best slows down you computer and compromises security. At worst, it makes internet explorer completely disfunctional.
We are also booked into the Innkeepers Lodge for Doncatser.
same here :)

i havent been able to view the pictures on my laptop from day one, stu assured me it was my computer but never got to the bottom of it.
Karoline
Are you running Norton Ad Blocking? If so one of their recent updates blocks HTML strings containing the text _ad which is how the images on the Winter Tour page are named. Sadly it is part of a very effective ad blocking setup IME and as this is the only instance where it has blocked something I actually want to view
I havent a clue what to recommend to overcome this problem ;(
Possibly someone could rename the images :)
If anyone is in need of accomadation for Kings Lynn, I have 1 family room booked at the Travel Inn that is no longer needed by the team. If interested please let me know ASAP.
(First come, first served)!!
Tim - I think youve hit the nail on the head. Ill check on the Symantec site to see if they have a fix to this problem.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
Below is an email i recieved regarding the just gone worcester event.
This shows some feedback, i believe a pat on the back is deserved to all roboteers and crew.
Jonno
Hi Roaming Robots
We really enjoyed the show on Sunday at worcester. It was brilliant. We were disappointed that Channel Five are not making another series, but we are very pleased that you are keeping the Robot Wars flag flying.
In a way it is better than on TV as you are so close to the action and the crashes are so loud and impressive. The best match was the one Ripper was in. Ripper was AWESOME.
Your website is really excellent and we have looked at all the clips on it.
If you ever come to Hereford we will put up posters and take round adverts for you.

Thats nice, glad to know that our sport still has some true fans! :)
Ripper was AWESOME., Jonno, how much did you pay them to say that? :)
could someone please tell me @ which hotel the roboteers are staying for the kins lynn event ?
William
Mixture - i beleive the RR crew and a few other teams are at the Holiday Inn, but its around 50 min drive from the veneu (distance for luxuary ay) and some other roboteers are staying in the Travel Inn which is about 5 mins from the venue. Do a cross check on the Venue post code from the Roaming Robots Web site, on the travel inn .co.uk web site, and find the clostest one. But ive herd from a few people that most of the hotels like Travel Inn, Holiday Inn, Prem Lodge etc are near enough fully booked due to School Holidays.
Kind Regards,
Mr Stu
