It€™s Phoenix Down, straight out first, as his partner MeCannibal gets to its slightly lowered RPM of 2500, Paul thanking Leo for the new speed controller as the old one short-circuited in the pits. Liam and Jamie exchange words for a sec, and it€™s Firefly that attacks Phoenix Down head-on! Oof. Neither can get under the other€¦and Firefly is being pushed back into System Shock€™s area. Liam gets his bot out of the way and MeCannibal waddles out of his spot instantly. An evil smirk crosses the Welshman€™s face and System Shock, instead of aiding his fellow teammate, decides to take the now 126kJ spinner head-on! This won€™t be pretty!
CRASH!!!
Off goes MeCannibal, actually flying a few feet away from System Shock, who€™s taken most of the force and sent rocketing back! The scoop however is just fine and Liam isn€™t deterred one bit: evidently Liam has something against MeCannibal, and System Shock comes straight back on the attack! MeCannibal scuttles aside; the bodywork of the shuffler is just scraped by the scooper and the ring of Paul€™s spinner starts spinning again! The manoeuvrability of System Shock is just worse than wheeled robots and unfortunately that costs him in terms of time as MeCannibal has reached that speed again! Paul isn€™t happy about lowering his bot€™s weapon speed but has to be pleased when he sees the ring smash against the scoop of System Shock!
CRASH!!!
And even moreso when he€™s seen that the scoop has been dented! System Shock€™s back into it, though, Liam is definitely a persistent bugger. :proud: MeCannibal has no way out of this one and System Shock smacks against it, easily sliding under that skirt and shoving Paul€™s shuffler right up against the wall! WHAM! Before he can do anymore, however, Joey comes to Paul€™s rescue as Phoenix Down slams into the rear of System Shock. And HE€™S got under a skirt, this time! You cretins! :proud: Jamie interrupts the hoe-down with a smack to Phoenix Down€™s rear, lifting it up with the arm and lifting System Shock to boot! MeCannibal is pinned and unable to move anywhere, as are System Shock and Phoenix Down, apparently.
Firefly is in complete control, and spins this way and that, trying to aim for Phoenix Down€™s tracks. To Jamie€™s delight, he snags the right-side motivation and pulls it away from System Shock, who collapses down, but now MeCannibal can escape! It€™s just a shame that MeCannibal€™s manoeuvrability is worse than System Shock€™s, as System Shock easily nails him before he can spin up, and rams him along the wall€¦INTO THE DISC OF DEATH!
CRASH!!!
Instead of a tragedy, it€™s a miracle for Paul, as MeCannibal is blasted away from the hazard and System Shock, and right to the other side of the arena, with a slight dent in the Hardox ring. In a rage System Shock rampages down on it, but the ring is coming back to speed! A nearby Firefly smacks Phoenix Down into the pit release button, unfortunately this dislodges Phoenix Down and leaves Firefly at the mercy of the forky rammer, who slips under the side and lifts IT up! Firefly struggles, and the tire smacks into the forks, ramming off them as System Shock barges into MeCannibal€™s tornado of an attack!
CRASH!!!
That earlier miracle means nothing now, for though System Shock€™s scoop is looking miserable, and Liam€™s creation has been shunted away, MeCannibal itself has been blasted right onto Firefly€™s wedge! Paul€™s expression of shock tells it all, he can€™t believe this, and there€™s nothing anybody can do now; Phoenix Down is too far away and much too late as he races in to save his partner, for Firefly does a 180 and delivers MeCannibal into the depths of the pit! However, Paul€™s mood is lightened when Phoenix Down lifts up Firefly from the rear and proceeds to the pit€¦and here comes System Shock! Liam isn€™t going to let the battle go to waste! Phoenix Down delivers Firefly into the pit, but System Shock slams into him, Joey reverses as much as he can, but it€™s not enough! AND€¦IT€™S IN! Phoenix Down lands right on top of Firefly! A 3 bot pitting in 5 seconds, and the winner is clear! Paul holds his head in his hands and Joey shrugs, as Liam goes ballistic in sight of a grinning Jamie.

MeCannibal 2.0, consumed in its own misery, and no Phoenix Down will save it or itself€¦

No €˜one bot goes out first€™ theme here - all four bots are out immediately and after each other€™s internals! GeForce 4.0 is straight away after Dead Horse Beater but Dervish V cuts across him and GeForce is forced to back off; Team Dunno€™s plans are clearly not to the liking of Team SpunOut. Infusion Alpha shoots forward, past GeForce, before AJ€™s even registered where Aaron even went, and without warning smacks into the spinning drum of Dervish!
CRASH!!!
But the wedge stands up very well to that hit, and what€™s more, Infusion€™s still pushing Dervish away! DHB moves to attack Infusion€™s side while he€™s distracted but AJ is having none of that, GeForce intervening and slipping under that nice 6mm clearance, tossing it skyward! DHB crashes down rather noisily onto its back, and self-rights only for Infusion to back into it while it€™s self-righting! The weapon of DHB is exposed!
CRASH!
€¦and I€™d say that€™s the end of DHB€™s axe! It€™s REALLY been bent out of proportion, and it doesn€™t look like it€™s going to work properly for the rest of this match! Frank is strained, but Daniel is about to be much more so, as Aaron gives no second thought to the apparently €˜dead€™ horse and drives straight towards Dervish again! Dervish amscrays away, really intent on taking out GeForce as quickly as possible, but GeForce is working on getting rid of that dead horse, and a nice flip underneath the front of DHB sends it flying onto its back! Uh€¦I think that€™s it, because that axe is definitely NOT working and DHB is definitely NOT invertible€¦Dervish panicks and goes for DHB to put his teammate right side up again€¦but GeForce intersects!

At a very high price! GeForce€™s flipper is buckled quite badly by that hit! The plate€™s been almost taken right off from the ram and rear hinge, and is bent upward at an awkward angle! It€™s still a better position then DHB, and now The Watcher is coming in to count it out once and for all!

Daniel€™s blood must be boiling, because now it€™s Infusion-and-GeForce-on-one-very-frustrated-Dervish! The full body drum drives straight at GeForce, but forgets about Infusion coming from the rear, and it€™s faster! GeForce is driving straight at Dervish as well, and Daniel realizes the drum isn€™t spinning at full speed yet€¦AND HE SUDDENLY PULLS OUT OF THE WAY! The result is GeForce driving straight up onto Infusion€™s wedge and landing right behind it, to be greeted by a maddened Dervish, drum deffo up to speed!
CRASH!!!
GeForce is flipped from the side, as Infusion U-turns and comes back on the attack. Dervish pushes GeForce, trying to prevent it from righting itself€¦FLIP! Nope. GeForce somersaults straight over Dervish, but crashes onto his nose in a 270, thankfully landing on its wheels, but that flipper ain€™t looking too hot now, it€™s bent into an €˜up€™ position€¦here€™s Dervish on the attack again, but Infusion finally catches the bugger and drives him across the arena! GeForce wearily heads for the pit release button, and slams it, just what Aaron was waiting for and what Daniel was dreading€¦dread for Daniel, pit for Dervish, and the Final for Team SpunOut!

Dead Horse Beater hardly even did what it said on the tin, while Dervish V barely whipped up a drizzle.

TACTICS!!!However pointless they might be against Infusion and GeForce :sad:
Right Jamie, I think it would be better if Firefly went for GeForce, because the scoop works inverted. Ill go straight for Infusion and try to stop the rim from spinning at all, hes pretty much useless without it. If we get the chance, pit them, if we dont, just be persistent and try to be dominant enough to win a judges decision :)

Well done to the pair of you. System Shock and Firefly have been the underdogs of the whole competition, and its here at the finals - and no accident.
In my personal opinion, I say that Operation Devestation are going to beat SpunOut here 9in a close final.

The Final is underway, and so is the pandemonium! Infusion Alpha rockets out, kinetically boosted, to butt heads with System Shock, as GeForce 4.0 is attacked by Firefly. Andy is delighted to see this, as it coincides with his own plans. The highly impressive flipper locks together with the scoop of a very surprisingly tough lifter, and they burn their rubber on the ground, trying to gain some purchase. But it€™s GeForce who takes charge, and strains forward with all its might, pushing Firefly back bit by bit! Firefly grinds its own motors, but the pressure of GeForce is simply too much and he is slowly forced in reverse, eventually slammed back against the rear wall! GeForce however isn€™t satisfied with holding his opponent there; he€™s gotta get him out! Sadly, neither can move because of this, those clearances, or lack thereof, are making it hard on Andy and Jamie right now, neither can get a clear advantage!
It€™s System Shock and Infusion Alpha however that are really having a battle, or appear to be more than their partners. System Shock was breached by Infusion€™s wedge, and the remaining Boost is enough to slam System Shock right up against the wall and send Liam€™s tracked rammer right across the floor! System Shock however instantly recovers and chases down Infusion as it gets its rim back up to speed! Liam doesn€™t want that wedge, it wants the rim, but Aaron€™s all about the ramming power for the Final, and he won€™t let Liam find any such opportunity because that wedge is completely in Liam€™s way! System Shock turns to go around the wedge, and Infusion€™s rim is back up to speed now, as the Kinetic Boost kicks in again and Infusion smacks into the side skirt of System Shock. It breaches it as easily as the scoop and the €˜fusion€™ carries Liam€™s bot to the wall! WHAM! Oh baby, what a hit. Ouch. System Shock pounded right off the wall and almost to the center of the arena!
Andy gets an idea, and GeForce activates its flipper. This lifts Firefly€™s own scoop up, and GeForce drives forward immediately, mashing Firefly along the wall and into an empty CPZ, which GeForce enters promptly. Firefly hurriedly gets the scoop down but barely fast enough as Andy€™s flipper flies in again and slams into it, noses meeting again and canceling out. By this time Sgt. Bash has entered that CPZ and GeForce backs off, not wanting to provoke the wrath of the house robot just yet. Firefly follows but gets a slight tickle from the lick of flame from the Sergeant as he attacks GeForce back. Neither bot has been able to outmanoeuvre the other and Jamie smirks slightly upon knowing this. Andy however isn€™t giving away the merest look of contemplation and drives GeForce straight into Firefly again€¦
€¦only to be interrupted by a ram from Infusion, carrying System Shock! Firefly gets a wedgeful of his partner and seems momentarily fazed by this, allowing Infusion to ram them both, smacking them into the wall together! The nearby Double Whamlet looks very perturbed and backs further into his CPZ, obviously nervous towards approaching one of these four bots! Firefly bounces along the wall, landing upside-down and facing the wall, and Andy€™s chance is given straight away. Jamie tries to get away, but GeForce eagerly jets towards the shaken, inverted lifter, getting under Firefly, and activating the flipper, sending the scoopy lifter right over the fence!
Liam groans, but he€™s not going to give up easily! System Shock once again heads for Infusion, who heads back at him in return! WHAM! This time, the Kinetic Boost fails to boost Infusion under that scoop, and now Infusion is being pushed across the arena, the rim disabled, and it goes straight into Double Whamlet€™s CPZ! Obviously Whamlet€™s gotten over his anxiety issues because he€™s smacking into Infusion€™s WHEEL! The tire has been hit! Dead on! Mobility issues are go! GeForce chases down System Shock, who€™s still near the CPZ, and gotten under the rear skirt, tossing him over Whamlet and further into the CPZ, as Sgt. Bash comes raging out of his own corner to aid his fellow house robot. Of course, The Watcher won€™t allow things to boil over, either, so off he goes. :proud:
GeForce is trying to get at System Shock€™s who€™s trapped in the CPZ, but Infusion and Whamlet are completely blocking the way, and finally in comes the Sergeant to see them off! He rams Infusion€™s side, grappling down on it, and hauling the spinner off to his own CPZ, giving the superbot a nice broiling to boot on top of that wrecked wheel. Whamlet turns its attentions to GeForce€¦who turns its own attentions to it! Without side skirts, Whamlet€™s prey to a flipping€¦FLIP! Yep, over it goes! Sgt. Bash drops the injured Infusion and returns to the CPZ€¦only for GeForce to spin around to greet it, slip under the side, and toss it over€¦not just over, but 4 feet in the air! Poor Sgt. Bash comes straight down on the flamethrower, busting it, and System Shock is free€¦to attack GeForce. GeForce however has the wedge back and pointing at it, and they collide.
It€™s System Shock, though, who gains the lower ground and GeForce is shoved back! Andy reverses his bot, as the wheels are still on the ground, but Liam is persistant€¦just about as persistant as Infusion is! Infusion ain€™t finished off yet, it might be moving questionably but there€™s no doubt that it€™s alive! Speaking of alive, Double Whamlet has self-righted and toppled Sgt. Bash back over, ah house robot kinship€¦ :wink: But Infusion€™s Kinetic Boost is back and he€™s moving fast along the arena at an angle, trying to line up System Shock, who€™s now pushing GeForce from the side! Infusion turns around and unleashes its spinning rim now, just about the only thing it can do now, as System Shock heads towards it.
Liam however sees the tactic quite clearly and pushes GeForce in the direction of the spinning rim€¦what Aaron was expecting. Infusion spins around lightning quick and GeForce goes onto the wedge, then it spins back around, driving the rim right into System Shock€™s side!
CRASH!!!
28kg + 2500rpm = some kind of damage to System Shock, though it€™s unclear€¦except for that dent in the side! Liam isn€™t happy about that and moves in to attack Aaron€™s weakened robot when GeForce bursts in suddenly and slides under the side skirt, tossing System Shock towards the wall! Before it can react, GeForce slides under and tosses it again! System Shock bounces off the wall and GeForce rams into onto the arena saws! BZZT! The tracks aren€™t harmed, I don€™t think, but that will score points if this goes down to the judges decision, and it may very well do so if each of these robots shows the resilience they have boasted about so far for the rest of this match! Infusion€™s rim is getting back up to speed and it stumbles towards the center of the arena where System Shock is beginning to gain the upper hand again, and GeForce is rammed again from the side. System Shock pushes GeForce towards Infusion yet again, Liam surely keen on wanting AJ to feel the hurt, and this time Infusion runs off. System Shock continues pushing GeForce across the arena and right up against the wall€¦just what Aaron was intending! Infusion backs in with the rim, and System Shock can€™t turn properly because it€™s holding GeForce on the wall!
CRASH!!!
And that has given System Shock one hell of a rattling as the rammer gets blasted across the arena! GeForce is released and both it and Infusion go to hunt down System Shock once more. System Shock attacks GeForce again, ignoring that deadly rim for the third time, knowing that since his partner€™s gone, an OOTA flip is much more lethal! :proud: But GeForce comes off luckier and the flipper finally gets underneath the scoop, and it€™s all GeForce from here on in, as it approaches the wall, and lets out an ungodly flip. Liam€™s eyes follow his robot as it soars straight over the wall, crashes into the polycarbonate covering, and lands with a dull crash, a dull finality to what was an epic final! Liam and Jamie clap respectively for their opponents, who have just won Crash & Burn: The Dual Duels!
However, it€™s not over yet! The house robots are angry for that earlier attack, and now they converge on GeForce! Infusion however isn€™t gonna let his buddy go it alone and weakly pushes forward€¦hah! It€™s wedged Sgt. Bash, who can€™t seem to move; one wheel€™s suspended over Infusion€™s wedge, and the other one€™s€¦not, but it ain€™t touching ground! :proud: GeForce smacks into the Darkzlayer, and easily gets underneath the side clearance, tossing it over! Then, with careful precision, he lets loose another huge flip, sending the 150kg house robot straight over the fence! Andy looking on espies a stranded Sgt. Bash on a friend€™s wedge and GeForce returns to Infusion€™s side. He effortlessly gets Sgt. Bash over with another flip, then tries to get him out€¦nope. Bash won€™t go out...yet, but GeForce tries again, and this time it€™s good, as Bash - HAAAAAAAHAHAHA!!! The flamethrower is suspended on the railing, it€™s hooked on, and Sgt. Bash is holding on to it for what appears to be dear life as the camera tracks loom below. Andy and Aaron roar with laughter and high-five. GeForce and Infusion spin around in victory, they are the champions!

The fire of the Firefly has burnt out, and System Shock€™s shocking upset just didn€™t happen. All€™s well that ends well though, eh Jamie, Liam? :wink:

First of all, well done to Kody for pulling this thing off. It was a cool idea, and thumbs up for giving it a go, even if the majority was hypothetical. The parts that weren€™t hypothetical were great to read. Secondly, commiserations to Liam and Jamie. I think you were pretty much the underdogs for this battle, but I wasn€™t looking forward to fighting your two vapourbots. Cheers Aaron for the team up, as well. Finally, w00t! The win makes this tournament hypothetically even better. :wink:
