Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
HEAT K
1) Annoying Box Rush (12) VS Firestorm 5 VS Flea 2.0 VS Mr Nasty
Ill pick Aaron to slice open Mr Nasty and Nick to flip n dump the Stormer
2) Disconstructor VS El Persistance VS ForcePower Turbo VS THE RAVEN
If Andy cares for a team-up, I suggest he tackles Mr Robinsons rammer, while I grapple Disconstructors angled disc and take it on a tour of the Warzone Hazards :proud:
On form as always, Richie :proud:

Uh... Did we all have to pick a real robot in this tournie? If so was Firestorm mine?:lame:

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Yes and yes, Frank! And thanks for the nice comments, AJ and Steven!

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Why would ANYONE want to write such horrid comments about you? Youre a great writer AND a fair judge.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Thanks. I get confused sometimes:proud: ...This tells you all why i never enter real robots if I dont have to:lame:
Firestorm tactics: First go after Mr. Nasty. I can get under him from anywhere, and the spike shouldnt do anything to me thanks to Firestorms nice low shape. Ill just drive him to the arena wall and leave him beached there. Either that or flip him into the arena disc until hes no more.
After that... Dont think I can do much to Flea, so Ill flip ABR around. Firestorms nippy and manoeverable so I should be able to toss it around a bit, unless Nick fancies teaming up and pitting Flea?:proud:

Ram into the sides of The Raven/Force Power/ El Persistance to cause pretty sparks and to rip away any skirts/side lumps/bolts to cause damage.

If I knew the stats for Flea, perhaps I wouldnt be swayed as easily. Excuse me whilst I render the ablative armor for the fight. :)

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Its the old old flea with the hydraulic powered spinning bar. Nothing too fearsome, since most of the weight went into the hydraulic drive system and jumping system. Maybe its time we saw a return of the flea...

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Oh, its OK, Aaron. Leave it as it is.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Do you want the stats for Flea then, Nick?
Flea 2.0
Motivation: Wheels
Weight: 99.31kg
Height: 290mm
Length: 800mm
Width: 600mm
Speed: 0-25MPH
Clearance: 3mm
Weapon: Flea has a new type of weapon that hasnt been used in Robotic Combat. Flea has two 100mm pneumatic rams powered by pneumatics at 145psi. These rams make Flea jump 5ft into the air due to the 795kg of force from the rams. This can be used to evade flippers, flywheels and House robots. This can be put together with good driving to make a crash tackle on an opponent. The pneumatics is powered by a compressor that takes the exhaust via a catalytic converter from the 160cc Chainsaw motor and pumps it into a 1kg CO2 canister. This gives Flea unlimited amounts of pneumatics.
Flea now has a 10kg spinning bar powered by a hydraulic motor at 4000rpm.
Drive: 160cc Chainsaw (6hp, Electric start) powering a Hydraulic pump which then feeds it to the 4 drive motors. To speed control, the drive pressure dumps back to the reservoir is used with stepper valves.
Armour: Flea has a 25mm hard compound rubber that surround the whole shape of the robot. On the top there is 4mm Hardox (Terrorhurtz was unable to put more than a dint in 4mm Hardox).
Batteries: 20 5000mah NiCad cells put together to form 12v 10A for the electric start)
Notes: Flea is Invertible.

Winner of the Heat: ForcePower because it is just too fast and too good armour. Sorry Steve, but it looks like your Raven is shredded chicken :proud:

Nick? Are you finished rendering yet? Or can I use ABR as it is?
Sorry if I seem impatient, but I havent been making quick progress lately and I want to make some over half term (or at least until Friday when Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas comes out).

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Thanks, Nick! I hope this is satisfactory, Kody!
Welcome to VFT6 - 10 heats are complete, and theres just 6 more to go, beginning with Heat K!
12th seed Annoying Box Rush reached the semifinals of VFT5, its ramming power eliminating Chaos 2 and Whirligig 3.0! But once in the semis, it met the faster and more powerful Monsoons Back, who showed it the way to the pit! The new Annoying Box Rush is shaped a bit like a car, with eight outer wheels protected by wheel guards, and a scoop/lifter at the front, which moves through almost 180 degrees for flipping and selfrighting! It also has a lead anti spinner contraption at the front, and copper ablative armour plates for use in melees! The front spatula claims to be the lowest wedge in the competition, and at 17mph ABR can run quickly, but with a high ground clearance at the sides, it could be annoyed by flippers and wedges!
28th seed Forcepower Turbo was a VFT4 semifinalist, but went out in Round 2 of VFT5, another victim of Monsoons Back and the pit! Forcepower is now a higher box wedge with a rounded back and steeper wedge. Again, it has no weapons, except a 64hp drive which will hurt anything Forcepower Turbo meets! Its well controlled, with skid steering and a speed lowered to 15mph, and its Hardox wedge should resist spinners, but its not that effective when inverted!
Disconstructor has never been in VFT before, but made a brief appearance in RW7, tearing at Iron Awe 2.1, Hammerhead 2 and Xenomorph before...driving itself into the pit! This is basically an invertable box robot, with a tilted spinning disc at the front that looks capable of dealing the damage - how many robots will be disconstructed here today?
El Persistance is a Storm-2 like robot - invertable, with skirts, and a 20hp drive! Its armed with a Wedge Of Doom-like pronged lifting arm which will lift opponents off the ground, so they can be slammed about at leisure! El Persistance is well armoured (although technically its 3mm Hardox armour shouldnt exist), but its arm doesnt work as a srimech, so when inverted, it stays that way!
Firestorm V is a star of RW, having come 3rd three times, and also has one of the best real robot records of VFT, having made the quarter finals of VFT2, and heat finals of VFT3 and VFT4, beaten by the inpenetrable Super Flipping Mad Mk3 last time! This fast, manouverable wedge robot is nice and low to get under most opponents, and its front hinged flipper usually works to overturn its victims so they can be shoved around! Unfortunately, if Graham and Hazel are married now, they wont get any prize money to help pay for the wedding if they win here, but at least theyll have some pride!
Flea 2.0, a last minute replacement for Rip Cage, returns from the garage after VFT3, where it made the heat final, and found The Robot That Wasnt There serving as a launch pad to flip it into the pit! This invertable robots main weapon is a 10kg spinning bar, but its main feature are two pneumatic rams that let it jump 5ft into the air, used for dodging and crash tackling! With Hardox and rubber armour, Flea 2.0 will be hard to penetrate, and with top speeds of 25mph, hard to keep up with, unless someone has a flea collar handy!
Mr Nasty is a RW entrant who went out early in RW6 when Crushtacean snapped its aerial off, but did a bit better in the New Blood until Mute flipped it around and won a judges decision (I think). It goes for a simple design - an invertable box with a static spike at the front! Mr Nasty hopes to use its speed and power to win over any other robots, but will it turn out to be less of a man in the arena?
And The Raven is an Ally Gator like robot with sloped sides and back, a wedge at the front and spikes along the top. Its weapon is a snipping jaw, with the bottom part inside the wedge - the idea is a robot will get snagged on the spikes so it can be snapped! Its srimech, a flap on top, can also serve as a flipper if a robot gets on top! The Raven has good pushing power and manouverability, but if a flipper gets to the sides, it could be sent out of VFT6, to return nevermore!
The first melee has two Vapours - Annoying Box Rush and Flea 2.0 - and two realies - Firestorm V and Mr Nasty!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Annoying Box Rush, Flea 2.0 and Firestorm V all turned on Mr Nasty, who rammed towards ABR! ABR quickly turned into it as it came and lifted, causing Mr Nasty to tumble! ABR advanced on Mr Nasty again, while Firestorm V tried to push past, and Flea 2.0 just struck ABR in its copper armour! ABR wouldnt have this, and turned towards Flea 2.0, who fired its rams and jumped over it! The path was now clear for Firestorm V to attack Mr Nasty, chasing it away but failing to catch up! Mr Nasty came back towards ABR, who was still being frustrated by Flea 2.0. The spike met ABRs side with full force, shoving it until Mr Nasty slid off, right into the bar of Flea 2.0! Firestorm V took the oppotunity to catch Mr Nasty after this blow, drove it into the wall and flipped it against it! Backing off to admire its stranded victim, Firestorm V returned to ABR, who had taken a couple more slices from Flea 2.0 in its absence! The real robot went straight for ABRs side, only to be hit itself by Flea 2.0! But this didnt matter, as ABR was turning, and Firestorm V could flick round to get underneath it and flip, just before being hit in the side again by the Flea! As ABR began selfrighting, Firestorm V came straight underneath, and a direct trip to the arena disc followed for the 12th seed!
Annoying Box Rush flew off Firestorm Vs wedge, and as Firestorm V went in again, it was again intercepted by the bar of Flea 2.0! Flea catapulted out of danger as ABR hit the side of the distracted Firestorm V and lifted it against the wall! When Flea 2.0 cheekily hit its rear copper, the 12th seed decided to move, giving Firestorm V a taste of the disc! Skimming away, Firestorm V found itself close to the trapped Mr Nasty, who would soon have to be freed! So before the other two could attack, Firestorm came underneath Mr Nasty, sending it toppling off the wall, ran with it to the pit release and gave it a toss downward into the hole! Turning back toward its advancing opponents, Firestorm V came towards ABR, and managed to reach its side, inadvertently shoving it into Flea 2.0s bar! Still having a grip on Annoying Box Rush, Firestorm V ran it to the still open pit, and flipped it in just as it was closing!
CEASE!
Annoying Box Rush and Mr Nasty are eliminated!
FIRESTORM V AND FLEA 2.0 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Now expect ramming, slicing, lifting and snapping from Forcepower Turbo, Disconstructor, El Persistance and The Raven!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Forcepower Turbo made a move towards El Persistance, who was running towards Disconstructor, as was The Raven! Before El Persistance could reach Disconstructor, it was rammed in the side by the 28th seed, and taken into the wall, knocking The Raven aside in the process! As Forcepower pinned El Persistance and shoved against the skirts, Disconstructor attacked, slicing Forcepowers side! The Raven went round the back towards Disconstructor, who turned into it and gave it a nice mark in the front! The Raven was not repelled, and brought its claw down on the disc, but the spinner hit the front before it was all the way down and knocked Disconstructor back, so it could hit the Hardox claw and scratch it, before running around to the side! Unfortunately, The Raven followed quickly and attacked Disconstructors side, and crunched! Meanwhile, Forcepower Turbo was underneath El Persistance, and turned it around for a hard slam into the west wall, that made El Persistance bounce onto its top! A reverse into the east wall made El Persistance spin into the wall and onto Forcepowers rear, so it could be taken down into the south wall! This impact freed El Persistance from Forcepower, but it wasnt facing the right way to attack, so it went after The Raven and Disconstructor!
At this point, The Raven had taken Disconstructor into the arena disc, leaving a scar, and was going for a second hit when El Persistance attacked the side! Against the wall, The Raven was lifted, and it and Disconstructor were carried away, causing the advancing Forcepower Turbo to run into the wall! El Persistances victims were slammed into the north wall themselves, then the threesome turned around to face Forcepower, and El Persistance charged, knocking the 28th seed backwards! Forcepower responded by turning into the side of El Persistance and pushing it down the arena again! All four robots were now locked together, with Forcepower under El Persistance and The Raven and Disconstructor still gripped! A trip to the arena disc came quickly, but it only caused El Persistance and its prey to fly off Forcepower Turbo again! As it was carrying them towards the pit release, The Raven was told to release the trapped Disconstructor, and it did! As the real robot dropped to the floor, The Raven was carried onward, into the pit release, and then it was dangled over the pit, dropping in before its pinning time limit could run out! El Persistance reversed quickly as Forcepower Turbo and Disconstructor attacked, but it wasnt enough to stop Forcepower slamming it against the wall, manouvering under the skirts, and making El Persistance follow The Raven down, both robots taking more scars from Disconstructor in the process!
CEASE!
El Persistance and The Raven are eliminated!
FORCEPOWER TURBO AND DISCONSTRUCTOR GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat K, Round 2:
Forcepower Turbo (28) vs Flea 2.0
Disconstructor vs Firestorm V
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Wooty:)
Gainst Disconstructer, Firestorms got a nice rounded shape and as seen against its second fight with Hypnodisc it can take hits from spinners when the links in right. Ill slide under the sides of Disconstructor and flip it into the arena disc a few times to soften it up and hopefully break the weapon, then try and pit it.

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Forcepower Turbo (28) vs Flea 2.0
Flea doesnt bother me too much. Im going to use the lethal tactics of moving out of the way when it jumps in the air so it comes down and crashes into the floor, not onto ForcePower. Ive just got to try and bash it as it lands and get a few attacks in before it jumps.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
With a vapour-realie heat final guaranteed, who will be the vapour - Forcepower Turbo or Flea 2.0?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Forcepower Turbo came straight out, but Flea 2.0 came a little forwards and jumped, aiming to crashtackle Forcepower! But Forcepower did a cool swerve out of the way and Flea 2.0 landed on the floor - the 28th seed moved quickly to ram it into the wall, and Flea 2.0 hit the polycarbonate before it could jump away again! It landed just short of Forcepower Turbos grasp, and quickly zipped to the side to attack the titanium! It landed a blow before Forcepower spun around to ram it, but didnt get very far before Flea 2.0 disappeared into the air! So Forcepower reversed after Flea 2.0, and shoved with its rounded back, but Flea jumped again before it met the wall! Forcepower Turbo followed it again, and its Hardox wedge hit Flea 2.0s blade, before Flea skyrocketed out of danger! Landing on the floor, Flea came towards the oncoming Forcepower and took it along the right side, only to be shoved a short distance on the wedge until the rams fired again! When it landed, Forcepower Turbo was ready to slam it hard into the wall and turn it on its side, so Flea 2.0 jumped sideways when it fired its rams, and went into another wall and back into Forcepower, who sent it straight back into the north wall! Resisting the punishment, Flea 2.0 got itself sorted and jumped again!
When both robots clashed again, Forcepower Turbos wedge again had to resist Flea 2.0s bar, and then Flea moved to the side, only landing a glancing blow before Forcepower came round, deflected the bar and then rammed! Again Flea 2.0 rocketed away, but as it landed, its bar hit the floor and it went rather wonky, allowing Forcepower to give it a good hard ram into the pit corner! Bouncing away from the impact, Fleas bar hit the floor again and it went off again, so the 28th seed took advantage by quickly ramming it in the rear, although they failed to reach the pit release before Flea 2.0s rams took it away again! Reversing towards Flea as it landed, Forcepower Turbo failed to catch it and got a rearful of bar for its troubles! Again Flea 2.0 jumped before Forcepowers wedge could touch it, then it met the wedge head on with its bar in the next collision! It leapt again to escape Forcepowers anger, but was caught as it landed, and run towards the pit! Flea 2.0 fired its rams, which caused it to hit the wall above the pit and bounce off and away on the floor! Avoiding driving into the pit itself, Forcepower Turbo reversed after the unseeded robot again, and caught it, then took it back towards the pit release as the pit closed! Flea 2.0 fired again, but only brought itself towards the pit release, and was rammed against it! Turning and pinning Flea 2.0 against the wall on its side, Forcepower Turbo began the fatal ram, but Flea 2.0 fell back onto its wheels and jumped - unfortunately, this took it very close to the pit, and Forcepower Turbo was quickly there to give it a nudge all the way!
CEASE!
FORCEPOWER TURBO GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
And who will be the realie - Disconstructor or Firestorm V?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
As Disconstructor and Firestorm V entered the arena centre, Firestorm V turned into Disconstructors side, only to be hit by the angled disc in the process! But this knocked it around, and it was able to get underneath before it could be hit again, then it ran Disconstructor to the arena disc and flipped it into the vortex! The top of the disc and armour was hit, and Disconstructor landed on its back! It turned into Firestorm V as it came in, but couldnt do much with the inverted disc, and was shoved into the arena disc rear first again, causing it to fly over Firestorm V and give its top a little nick! Reversing and then swerving, Firestorm V captured Disconstructor once again, and in a moment, its disc met the arenas one, taking a cut but still running! Firestorm V followed Disconstructor again as it flew off, and took a blow in the side as it attacked, but that didnt put it off as it brought Disconstructor right around for a fourth dose of punishment, which hit the disc again, as well as slashing the side armour! Bouncing on the floor due to its disc, Disconstructor could not escape Firestorm Vs next advance - the RW veteran had now got bored, and rammed Disconstructor into the pit release, then towards the pit, flipped it in for some flourish, then drove in itself to please the crowd (waiting before doing this, so as not to end up in a similar situation as in its fight with The Morgue)!
CEASE!
FIRESTORM V GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Heat K Final:
Forcepower Turbo (28) vs Firestorm V
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Fast and furious. Wooty:proud:
Despite being beaten by Storm and Tornado, Firestorm CAN hold its own against rammers with the right tactics. I intend to only use the flipper twice in this match. Once to invert Forcepower so the wedge isnt effective, and once more to stack it.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Forcepower Turbo (28) vs Firestorm V
Franks tactics can only work if he catches me and I sit there and let him slide under and push me. Firestorm hasnt got the best traction and pushing power in the world so Im going to use that to my advantage. Get to the side or back and push slam it against the walls over and over again. Then, try and get it into the pit. If Firestorm somehow gets under, pushes me to the wall and stacks me against it, Ill spin the wheels and simply shake ForcePower off. :proud:
Fantastic fights Richard! :)
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
I dont need to catch you. If you want to win, you have to come to me:proud: Anyway Id like to know how FP can get itself off the wall if none of the wheels are touching anything :P
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
The wheels will be touching the walls. Either that or wobble power! :proud:
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Youd have to be lined up perfectly against the wall which isnt likely. Its more likely to get stacked at an angle.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Which makes it easier to wobble off. :proud:
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
So your drive is enough to tip a 100 KG robot off the arena by spinning its wheels alone. Riiiiight:P

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
2x B42-500 Magmotors at 60v... yes :proud:
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Actually, there could be some maths behind this :proud: The change of speed in the motors from full forwards to full backwards, at speed the B42s do, it might just rock the boat a bit.
But seriously, who f^^ken knows :proud:

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Thanks again for your wooty comments!
We come to another heat final, but will Forcepower Turbo or Firestorm V be the next semifinalist?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
The moment the two robots were next to each other, they swerved round to reach their opponents side! It was a close thing, but Forcepower Turbo just managed to get under Firestorm V and send it straight into the wall with a crash! Firestorm V flew backwards and was left balanced on Forcepowers back, but as the 28th seed was reversing, Firestorm Vs wheels touched the ground and it came off, so Forcepower ran right up the wedge! Firestorm V fired its flipper, but because it was flipping from the rear, Forcepower didnt go all the way over! No problem - Firestorm V just came under as it was tilting and sent it onto its back, the wedge now inverted and of little use! Forcepower Turbo got away before Firestorm V could use the wedge again, spun around and tried to shove it side on, but with its inverted wedge, it was easier for Firestorm V to get under and shove it to the north wall, then fire its flipper and stack it against it! Firestorm V didnt have much time to relax though, as Forcepower quickly began sliding down, so under came Firestorm V again and turned it back up against the wall! Forcepower remained static, so Firestorm V did a victory spin - only to stop when Forcepower began sliding back down again!
Firestorm V was forced to run back into Forcepower Turbo before it could get away, and use the flipper to send it back onto its side! But Forcepowers wheels touched the wall and it quickly came down - now with its wedge working again, it turned to attack Firestorm V, and quickly had it pinned! Turning around, Forcepower accelerated, and Firestorm V went head first into the east wall, bouncing off onto its side, and landing on its back! It couldnt selfright in time to prevent another onslaught from Forcepower Turbo, who now introduced it to the south wall! Firestorm V skimmed right over the top of the 28th seed again, landing behind the rear, and Forcepower didnt turn quickly enough to stop Firestorm coming straight underneath and tilting it up with the flipper! Unable to stack it from its position, Firestorm V turned Forcepower side on to the wall and quickly had it stuck - until it began to come down again! Forcepower Turbo managed to escape, but was now inverted again! Ready to face Firestorm V, it rushed back in and managed to shove it against the wall, but Firestorm V edged its way around, under the inverted wedge, and Forcepower found itself being taken away to the north wall again! Firestorm V now tried stacking Forcepower Turbo in the pit release corner, and between two walls as the release went off, Forcepower was having trouble getting down! After a few still seconds, Forcepower Turbo began trying to wobble itself down, and after another few moments, began to succeed! Unfortunately, back under went Firestorm V, hitting the pit release again, and now it would be a direct route to the pit and a flip down into it for Forcepower Turbo!
CEASE!
FIRESTORM V GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT6, 10th seed NSBFR-X hopes Forklifts Revenge, Hassocks Hog 2 and Roo 2 wont see it coming!
And 26th seed Black Chalkie Beard hopes to wipe Gyrate, Insecticide and Sonic Boom off the VFT6 blackboard!
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Spin up from the start and attack the weakest panel of each of the robots. Im slightly more worried about NSBFR-X than the other 2, so if Frank suggests a team-up, then fine, but unless he does, Ill be unbiased towards the other 3.
Additional Tactics For Each:
NSBFR-X
Should it get on a flipper, Ill rush over and preuming HH2 or FR flips him, Ill rip the top/base panel as he flies.
Forklifts Revenge
The forklift will probably be quite slow to work, so Ill slide underneath its path as it come downm hopefully tearing shavings off the bottom. This is because I dont want to hit it full-on as it may be very thick.
Hassock Hog 2
Go for the srimech if at all possible. You rip that off then FR has an excellent chance of putting it out, makking it easier to focus on the other 2.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Sure a team up sounds good. Ill fit the spinning bar for this fight and attack the weapon of Hassock Hog 2 to disable it then go for the sides. Roo should go for FR as its weapon shouldnt be effective against a spun up FBS, plus its got better armour which I dont think my bar can hurt much.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Note to matty my weapon is fast,
For this fight i will activate the pit and use the weapon as a battering ram to bounce roo 2 down the pit, i will then flip the hog in as well
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
The twins return :proud:
Spilt up and attack,
Im too low to be attacked by Gyrate
Sonic Booms axe is momentum powered and therefore weak
Im worried about Insecticide, so Scott want to gang up?
If I put it in the stats, may I run with the wheel set-up 2, the swords at around 23 cm and for Beard to have the spinning drum. If not, damn I entered an old-verison.
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
keep away from everyone else & pit forklift & NSBFR-x
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Ill gang up, Dave! Ill take out Sonic Boom, leaving Chalkie Beard with Gyrate. Should be fun :)

Annoying Box Rush and Mr Nasty are eliminated!
Wow, some of my worst bad luck early on. I guess this means some impossibly good luck for VGer coming up, unless that was my good luck. :proud:
-
Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Sorry Dave, but it must be the old version.
Welcome to VFT6 - so far, we have no seeded robots in the second semifinal, but will one get through in Heat L, or will it turn out like NSBFL7 currently is?
Tenth seed NSBFR-X, who came 4th in VFT4, reached the semis of VFT5 but was cut up by SD IV once there - it survived to a judges decision, but lost 21-39! NSBFR-X has changed to become an invertable box wedge with rounded sides, and its put together some new interchangable weaponry as well - the old Hardox scoop, a horizontal spinning bar, pincers and an electric lifting plate, now slotted into the wedge so the wedge itself is stronger! The robot is faster at 20mph and is skirted - will NSBFR-X be seen in the finals again?
26th seed Black Chalkie Beard was just Chalkie last time - it was a heat finalist who fell foul of Killotine Evos axe, and then the pit! Now its a two part clusterbot - the parts, Black and Beard, are invertable boxes with slightly rounded sides and rear, and are armed with lifting swords that lie low to the ground and will hopefully keep other flippers at bay! Hopefully spinners wont do much better, with the clusterbots 2cm Hardox armour, and suspension that allows the innards to move, and flippers are also repelled by the skirts that work either way up! But Black Chalkie Beard isnt a great pusher, or very fast at 12mph, and could find itself in double trouble!
Forklifts Revenges predecessor made it to VFT5 Round 2, where it was spun into the pit by Tempest Evil-oution - it met Tempest again in the VFT5 Annihilator, but survived long enough to come 3rd! The robot isnt so much a forklift anymore, as a flipper - the low box has a Toro-like flipping arm, with forklift-like prongs to get under low robots and flip them pretty high! Forklifts Revenge has a good 18mph top speed, and can use the flipper to selfright, and also has sprung skirts, but will it fail to get revenge if the CO2 runs out?
Gyrate is designed for nothing more than to hurt other robots very, very badly - it has a 27kg spinning bar, spinning at 8000rpm, to produce 1.45 mega joules, which will hopefully cause some one hit KOs! Gyrate isnt particularly strong in other areas - no srimech, 2mm polycarbonate armour, and a top speed of 5mph, but Aaron hopes that wont matter with his mighty weaponry!
Hassocks Hog 2 comes to VFT6 after a poor performance in RW, where it went out in Round 1 twice. But this pig has no intention of being butchered here - its a compact, boxy wedge robot armed with a flipping arm and a picture of pants on the underbelly, to shock opponents if it gets flipped! With furry ears, Hassocks Hog 2 is lucky theres no flames here, but its flipper has proved unreliable in RW, and it needs it to selfright!
Insecticide has a rounded main body with exterior sidepods containing the wheels - rather than a can of Raid, its armed with a horizontal spinning disc! Its invertable, manouverable and agile, but can be flipped - will Insecticide just be another bug in the system?
Roo 2 is a Gyrobot-like spinner - a low cylinder with a spinning ring, that produces 166kj as it spins, so hopefully other robots wont feel so good when it hits them! Its tyres are stuffed to avoid puncturing, and it has thick titanium/polypropylene layered armour, but it also has a high ground clearance for any tough flippers that pass by!
And Sonic Boom hopes it will attract some loud cheers from the audience - this Stinger-like axlebot has a momentum powered axe, which comes down with 800kg of force! Sonic Boom has all its components inside its thick Hardox wheel hubs, and it should be hard for opponents to attack, with its manouverability, tough armour, slippery design and 28mph top speed! But Sonic Boom also has iffy control and poor pushing power - will it make an impact?
In the first melee, NSBFR-X fits a spinning bar to meet flippers Forklifts Revenge and Hassocks Hog 2, and spinner Roo 2!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
NSBFR-X moved towards Hassocks Hog 2, who went to greet it. Roo 2 also went for the Hog, followed by Forklifts Revenge! NSBFR-X caught HH2 as it was moving into its sides, and the bar ripped into its armour! NSBFR-X moved after HH2 as it spun off, missing the flipper and whacking it in the side again! Roo 2 failed to reach the carnage before Forklifts Revenge caught up with it and hit it - both robots skimmed away from each other! Recovering, Roo 2 went after the injured HH2, hitting it in the front and accidentally running into NSBFR-Xs bar as well! HH2s arm was left bent and broken, and even more so when NSBFR-X hit it a second later! Forklifts Revenge reappeared and moved towards Roo 2 - its prongs slipped under the ground clearance and flipped from underneath! Like a UFO, Roo 2 whizzed through the air, skimming as it landed, hitting the wall and bouncing off, going right between HH2 and Forklifts Revenge! NSBFR-X was continuing to attack HH2, hitting the wounded right side again and reaching the wheel, slicing it! It struck again, leaving HH2 with restricted movement!
Roo 2 advanced on NSBFR-X and Hassocks Hog 2 - Forklifts Revenge went to attack but glanced off, a tear in its left skirt! Roo 2 hit HH2 in a front corner, sending it away from NSBFR-X, with two panels parted! NSBFR-X and Roo 2 both went in to deliver killing blows, but Roo 2 fell foul of Forklifts Revenge again, and was flipped towards the closed pit - it hit the floor, bounced into the wall and off! Going for the pit release at the time, Forklifts Revenge came back towards the slowed Roo 2, while NSBFR-X was aiming its spinning bar into the hole in HH2! With a hard strike, smoke began to waft out of the hole, and Hassocks Hog 2 was no more! Once sure HH2 was dead, NSBFR-X went for Forklifts Revenge, who had given Roo 2 another ram and knock into the wall to slow it as it was spinning up! It now had Roo 2 on its flipper and was taking it towards the pit release! Once they were there, NSBFR-X pinned Forklifts Revenge from behind, not getting under the skirts but holding it there while the pit was open, and then closed! Forklifts Revenge, still holding Roo 2, began edging out, reversing into the pit release only for NSBFR-X to pin it in the side! Edging out again, Forklifts Revenge pushed past Hassocks Hog 2, and this dislodged Roo 2, who began running to spin up! Going after it, Forklifts Revenge got underneath and flipped, just before NSBFR-X gave it a shove in the rear!
Forklifts Revenge tried following Roo 2 as it bounced, but NSBFR-X kept it from doing so by ramming it into the wall and pinning it once again! Roo 2, once it had spun up again, excitedly came in and hit the side, but the Hardox held up! The impact allowed Forklifts Revenge to wriggle away from NSBFR-X and attack Roo 2 as it was coming in again, but NSBFR-X hit it in the side again and caused it to miss the flip, although it also made Roo 2 hit NSBFR-X in the side and give it a dent! Escaping, Forklifts Revenge chased down Roo 2, and they came together with a crash, Forklifts Revenge spinning away and Roo 2 being flipped! Running into the nearby pit release, Forklifts Revenge went after Roo 2 again, only to be caught again by the 10th seed! NSBFR-X shoved Forklifts Revenge towards the pit, but they went on a curved path away from it! Roo 2 came in to help, hitting Forklifts Revenge in the rear so it spun towards the pit, but it bounced off the wall and away! NSBFR-X and Forklifts Revenge now met head on, and both struggled to get under each other! Still in play, Roo 2 aimed to whack Forklifts Revenge into the pit again, but Forklifts Revenge swerved so Roo 2s blow just smashed it against the wall! Roo 2 then found itself being flipped again, bouncing off NSBFR-Xs top and missing the pit, which soon closed! NSBFR-X continued attacking Forklifts Revenge, going into its front and pushing it backwards, but Forklifts Revenge swerved again and went straight into Roo 2, and went skimming into the body of Hassocks Hog 2! Flipping it out of the way, Forklifts Revenge hit the pit release again, and a moment later, NSBFR-X had it pinned against the wall again, and Roo 2 took the oppotunity to hit it in the side once again! Just as Forklifts Revenge escaped the pin, time ran out and the judges began making their decision!

NSBFR-X AND ROO 2 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Melee 2 has clusterbot Black Chalkie Beard, explosive Gyrate, poisonous Insecticide and deafening Sonic Boom!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Black Chalkie Beard split and both parts headed for the beginning-to-spin Gyrate, while Insecticide went for Sonic Boom, who cam eot meet it! Black and Beard came in on Gyrate - and with their low bodies, slipped under the deadly blade! Immediately they shoved it towards the pit release, but when they did, the flybar touched the wall! The arena shook violently, Gyrate was launched backwards, pushing past the twins and flying across the arena floor! Bouncing off the south wall, it flew towards the tussling Insecticide and Sonic Boom, and the still spinning flybar hit them both! A long gash in its front and top, Insecticide wasnt moving at all, while Sonic Booms thick Hardox wheel hubs were cracked, and while slowed, it was still mobile! Landing on the centre of the arena, Gyrate began spinning again and came towards Sonic Boom, but Black and Beard had caught up with it, ran under the blade again, and this time decided to lift with their swords! This they did, and while Gyrates blade didnt touch the floor, the forces caused it to tilt back, and the blade hit the tops of Black and Beard, smashing the 4mm Hardox on top! Gyrate flew away from the twins again, bouncing and going straight into the south wall, this time missing Sonic Boom and the 26th seed, and managing to stabilise! With their top armour now cracked and their wheels also hit, Black and Beard were both motionless, as was Insecticide, and with Gyrate and Sonic Boom still mobile from that destructive and chaotic battle, they were going through!
CEASE!
Black Chalkie Beard and Insecticide are eliminated!
GYRATE AND SONIC BOOM GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat L, Round 2:
NSBFR-X (10) vs Sonic Boom
Gyrate vs Roo 2
Please let me know if that last fight was unrealistic - with such a powerful spinner, and Hardox armoured robots (irresistable force and immovable objects!) its hard to tell.

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
OK, Im sure Aaron will be in here in a minute to burst my bubble (:proud:) but looking through the stats, it doesnt seem that Gyrates bar bends at the end. It only seems to be a straight bar. Roo 2 = 17.5cm high, Gyrate = 20cm high. All ot this = Lovely:proud:. Presuming this is the case, then all I have to do is drive up to him, hit 2mm Polycarbonate and shred it to death, without randomly flying 2.5cm into the air to be on level with his bar.
Wooty fights as ever Rich:proud:
And as for the other battle, Id pick NSBFR to win with certain scoops, and Sonic Boom to win with others.
Anyone else want to join me on this lovely fence?:proud:

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
I think you might pass under the bar matty as I cannot really remember what I put in the stats. IT was ment to have vert teeth as well, but Im not sure if they are in the stats. Im hoping for a shimmering effect again, or i might even play hockey puck bot and start a Triton pin ball bouncing effect around the arena by ramming into the wall on purpose.

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Im sorry, but with that much energy flying around, onto a 2mm polycarbonate chassis would have felt the force and would have self-destroy itself.
Look at Supernova for example, about 50 Kj, and it breaks down after a couple of hits because of the power, and thats a good chassis.

Velociraptors Fanfic Tournament - Series 6!
Lets see, against Sonic Boom...
Spinning bar - worthless, Ill never damage it.
Latch wedge - Needs some really good driving.
Lifter - Also worthless
Leaving me with the pincers. By grapling round one wheel I can easily control it and just shove it around. Ill push it into the arena disc to try and shred the rubber up an reduce his traction, and try to get him in the pit.
As for the other fight Ive got the sickening feeling Gyrate is going to win but I really, really want Roo to shred it up.
