Important email went out tonight to everyone coming to Worcester. If you dont receive this email by 9pm tonight (11th October), contact events@roamingrobots.co.uk.
Another email was sent out to all roboteers who plan to come to future Winter Tour shows, (Kings Lynn, Hull and Doncaster) Again if you dont receive this email by 9pm tonight, contact events@roamingrobots.co.uk.
News for all about the Hull event.
From Day one, we always said the Hull event was to be Confirmed and sadly, the worst has happened. The building work on the venue will not be completed in time. At the moment the promo company are looking for an alternative venue. We will keep you updated here and via email to people who have singed up to future Winter Tour events, and those people who signed up to come to the Hull event it self.

Hey Stu,
If you cant do Hull, why dont you ask Jonno (ever so nicely of course) if he coud do one down here in the south. Spare a thought for all us poor southeners who have to drive miles for these events!!
What do ya think Mike, John R, Paul C. et al?
Gets my vote of approval :)

Hiya Geoff, sadly its not really mainly up to jonno where the venues are for the Winter Tour. The winter Tour venues were sorted out by Zap crew.
But Fear not Geoff - we have a big event planned for down south in the near year just for you guys! :proud:
Mr Stu
And of course for all the belgium/dutch roboteers
Marco,
I would have thought that you would be asking for every British event to be in Hull. Its the first stop after Rotterdam for the North Sea ferries.
Jeremy
PS. There may be other crossing points in the deep South but I dont know much about them.
JCFC
Only Dover, Folkstone and Newhaven. It depends from where you travel. If you really want to get picky you can include Portsmouth and Southhampton.
fastest is harwich from hook van holland 2hours 15 mins done it lots on the sea cat or if you look at it another way the sea (star) ship enterprise........lol
Ah cannae tek er to moor then 20 knoots Capn, shell teer heerself apart :)
Due to time constraints, were not going to have the robot fighting fit for the Worcester... so see you all at Kings Lynn.

Message to organisers, bring a live event to Wakefield and the five towns,Im sure they have never seen anything like RR up ere like.Wrestling used to go down a storm at Ossett town hall, yeah its not wrestling-its better, five towns includes Pontefract, castleford,Ossett, normanton,Horbury all within 10 minutes drive of Wakefield.By the way,you could get the arena in Ossett town hall, all the crowd in the gods.
i live next to wakefield so its ok for me :)
I think that we have to give Jonno full marks for getting the final in Yorkshire.
LOL!
You coming to this event Jeremy?
See most of you this weekend in Worcester.
Mr Stu
I most certainly am going to Doncaster for the final. Unfortunately I have major clashes on all the other Roaming Robots event week-ends.
I am setting myself the target to be back in the arena myself with a new robot by the end of May 2005.
Jeremy
Help please!
The news letter doesnt say what time we have to be at the venue in Worcester on Saturday and I cant seem to get to the individual web page because the pictures arent showing.
Will it be 5:30pm at the latest (1 hr before the show)?
4pm from the rr site
Many thanks - see you all there.
Got back at 10 to 11, after journey back of nearly 200 miles with a leisurly break for supper along the way. Wont say how fast I went but my car cant go much faster that the speed I was doing at times
Had a great time, strange things happened to Pillow Torque especially when it died during the lunchbreak testing. We didnt win but 3 points is better than 0.
As for the final fight, I expect they are still finding little pieces of Ripper scattered around even now after the final fight of the weekend with THz. Funny thing was that the pig ended up on its feet in the middle of the arena after all that :)
Great event. Cheers to everyone.
Mike
that was a great event and i have final got all the bugs out of thors drive just in time for a really ding dong of fight with mute, thanks to everyone who help me sort thor, dan, mark, mike, and anyone else who had there head in side thor. but the best fight was ripper and thz, it was really nice to see thz work as it should and for jonno and steve to have lost one fight lol. its just the start choppers will rule the world.
Excellent event. Thanks to Merlin for beating us in our last round so we didnt have to go against THz! :) Looking forward to the next one
Dave
Glad we finally managed to make an event with the new Spearhead. It was entertaining to see eyes light up as the other roboteers saw a shiny new robot to damage. :)
We had some problems but on the whole it worked pretty well. Hope to get the problems ironed out for our next event.
I really enjoyed the day, there were some great battles, particularly the final and if all of the events have been this good I wish we could have made it to more.
What a brill event! The best so far. It was great to have robots like Bulldog, Kronic, and Spearhead there. Hope you can all make it to Kings Lynn.
Steve get your welder out! Its only 2 weeks to the next one. Does anyone know if John cranked THZ up for that last fight, I heard a leak as he armed up so I thought Ripper was going to be OK. In hind sight i think the hissing noise was probably all of the pneumatic fittings on THZ reaching breaking point! :)
Ian
yes, as i walked past thz, i caught him turning the pressure up. so we put more gaffer tape and the PIG on.
weve said..... WHEN we meet him in the final-final at doncaster :) he can turn it up to the full 180psi :):)
you know us we dont care !!!
didnt really get any damage, all the fixings for the polycarb had already broken, so it was only the gaffer tape holding them in.
and the scoop was already cracked from the last thz fight.
apart from that more gaffer tape and were ready to fight no internal damage!
I wont be at kings lynn, leaving my capable crew to run things, as i am away filming Geronimo with the BBC.
Dont worry you dont get away from ripper...... Just a stand in driver required !!
This was one of the better events i think, some great fights, and nice to see new faces.
There will be an update regarding the competition, and the final this week, to bring everybopdy up to speed with the current plans.
Jonno

great event, was a good selection of fights and robots. Slowly sorted Merlins problems during the weekend and won the last fight (At last!!). Although Thz gave us 2 good beatings (big hammer needed!). Also i think the drive system is stuffed
Well done to Stu for judging, i think i agree with every one!
Reports will be online by the end of the week.
ps. Anytime Dave, as long as you return the favor by not throwing us OOTA!
Definatley one of the most entertaining events so far in the tour. Very glad THz wasnt at full power for our fights, and think we are going for the record of most consecutive losses. Hope Ripper will recover quickly and maybe with a different driver (Jason?) others will stand a chance :)
*runs away before Jason picks up his hammer*
:) saying nothing
Great event and good to see some fresh machines.
We turned THz up slightly from the normal 80 to 100psi, just for Rippers benefit :)
Wed had a small leak all weekend (all Mikes fault!), but fortunately it wasnt losing enough to make too much difference.
Jonno going parachute jumping then?? They shout
Geronimo when they jump for the first time. Or something you cant talk about?
look no further jonno i would love to take care of ripper for ya, but if thor was drawn against ripper it would have to just sit in the middle of the arean and i would still miss it.

Ian :)
just thought id add my two peneth yes this was another fantastic event as they all are in my oppinion but then again i am a little biast towards all events but WELL DONE !!!!! to all the robots that took part in a cracking set of shows , oh and the roboteers driving them .... of which i was one this time ( thanks mike ) ... and i WON!!! it made my birthday special... but yes you all did a great job and i dont think anyone of the audience could complain they got terrific value not knowing the cost of some of the repair bills to the poor robots .... unlucky to ripper but what a great final and a big WELL DONE to THZ what a great fight
Oh John, you dont know how happy that makes me feel. To be guilty of a little damage to Terrorhurtz. Can you leave it leaking just so that I can say I did that? Pretty please....
Mike.
Mike - he will only leave it leaking if he can fight you 1v1 on 180psi - not 100psi like against ripper. :) HEHE.
Mr Stu
Er Stu??? Why has the pig been given a Gemini for Worcester (ie. 0 points)?
Cmon fairs fair - It even survived THz so it deserves the 2 points for lining up in the arena twice (should put it behind Big Nipper in the table)
Itll settle for 1 :)
