Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
If the crusher gets onto the robot at a point where the outside of the robot is more than perpendicular to the ground, gripping should come fairly naturally, the crusher can also probably be able to compress 4mm Hardox enough to hold it in place as well - Tiberius is capable of penetrating thin Hardox if I recall correctly, largely because all the pressure is focused onto said sharp point.
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
Great battle again Liam.
Nidhogg Evo vs. 259 vs. Exertion vs. Masamune
Ill go for the team-up with Masamune. 259 seems to be my target. Hopefully the disc cant cause too much damage to my armour. Its pretty much a case of box rushing it and keeping the disc speed slow. If I can get under, Ill try and use the scoop to tip it over. Then go after Nidhogg if its still running by then. The crusher doesnt worry me too much. Again, keep ramming it around, down the pit if I can.
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
Predictions
Nidhogg Evo (3) vs. 259 vs. Exertion vs. Masamune: Joey deffo through no matter what, and either Frank or AJ will follow with him.
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (19) vs. GBOD vs. Lethal Execution vs. Supernova: GBOD and SHA2 through.

Sorry there havent been fights for a while, I have a lot going on, but I may be able to get Heat B round 1 up today :)
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
We€™re the ones with the CRASH!!
We€™re the ones with the BASH!!
We are the ones that take out the TRASH!!
And you€™ll never escape from Robot SMASH!!
*Jonathan Pearce and Henry Rollins appear in the SMASH!! Box, suspended 10 feet above the Robotagon itself with screens behind them showing lists of robots and battles*
JP: Welcome to the second heat of Robot SMASH!! Series III: Lock3d and Load3d.
Henry: Last time the number #1 seed PsycloniZer defeated the number #17 seed ISDSFA in the heat final and moved onto the series semi-finals.
JP: 8 more robots want to join PsycloniZer there, but only 1 can.
Henry: Will it be the third seed Nidhogg Evo?
JP: Or the 19th seed Sheer Heart Attack 2?
Henry: Or one of the other six machines?
JP: We€™ll soon find out.
Henry: I can€™t wait!
JP: Let€™s head over to the pits!
*Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby appear in the pits surrounded by lots of metal munching machines, Masamune is in the background with Frank working on it*
Fearne: Welcome to the pits. I€™m Fearne Cotton and this is Holly Willoughby.
Holly: Today sees 8 robots fighting it out for a place in the series semi-finals, let€™s see these robots.
Fearne: Here we have 259, one of two realies in this heat. It has a powerful vertical flywheel and almost beat Wild Thing2 in RW6, but has no srimech, exposed weapon chains and lost out in the first round of RS!!1.
Holly: Next up here is Exertion, another veteran. It has four S28-400 magmotors for excellent pushability and controllability plus an electric scoop that can work both ways up, powered by an S28-150 motor.
Fearne: Here is one of only two newcomers in this heat, Masamune. This is its first time in RS!! , but it is very experienced in other competitions. It€™s an interesting barrel-shaped design with front wedge and retractable sword lifter. The hardox armour is tough, but the weaponry could be ineffective.
Holly: Here we have GBOD, who did OK last season. It€™s a full body spinner with a kinetic energy powered srimech, and is shaped like a giant bell (hence the name Giant Bell Of Death). However it must spin up before it can self-right.
Fearne: This is Lethal Execution, an update of last season€™s Lethal Injection. Unlike the former it isn€™t an axlebot and packs powerful B42-500 magmotors in the drive as well as some interchangeable weaponry to do some real damage.
Holly: The last newcomer and the last realie of the heat is Supernova, the RW6 Heat H finalist with a powerful horizontal spinning disc and the ability to run inverted. It€™s quick around the arena and dangerously powerful, but lost out in round 1 of RW7.
Fearne: The lower seed of the heat is Sheer Heart Attack 2, this full body drum with tracks and rear wedges. There are powerful lynch motors in the drive and the weaponry can deliver a good hit, knocking out robots the entire round.
Holly: And here it is, the moment you€™ve all been waiting for, the update of series 1 runner-up and series 2 bronze medallist, the number #3 seed Nidhogg Evo! Previously Nidhogg, this successful machine no longer has electric forks, but a new hydraulic lifting mechanism and a roll-cage device to solve the self-righting problem that cost it the series 1 trophy.
Battleboard
Nidhogg Evo (3) vs. 259 vs. Exertion vs. Masamune
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (19) vs. GBOD vs. Lethal Execution vs. Supernova

Henry: This is a Robot SMASH!! Series 3: Lock3d and Load3d Heat B round 1 match-up!
In the Red Corner, seeded number #3 Nidhogg Evo and 259!
In the Blue Corner, Exertion and Masamune!
Nidhogg Evo:
RS!!1: (as Nidhogg) Lifted and pitted The Curse, Doorstops and WORCK to make it through the heat, then pitted Seung Mina IV in the quarters to reach the semis, where Supreme Glory Omega bit the dust, but in the final Wedge Devolution flipped it against the wall and out of the competition.
RS!!2: (as Nidhogg) Teamed up with Under Pressure to get rid of Leprosy Infection in round 1, then disposed of Drum Boy in round 2 and Envy in the heat final. In the semi-finals Achilles and Killobite 5.0 (10) were eliminated before Nidhogg was thrashed by PsycloniZer in the Grand Final. However the loss was compensated for in the play-off when Back to Rock III was knocked out of contention for that podium finish.
259:
RS!!1: Was immediately flipped by ISDSFA in round 1.
RS!!2: Didn€™t enter
Exertion:
RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
RS!!2: Helped Revenge of Black Death to dispose of Dennis the Menace in round 1, but was then finished off by E Clawdius Unum in round 2.
Masamune:
RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
RS!!2: Didn€™t enter
Roboteers, standby!

#SMASH!!
The green light is shown as all four robots move into the centre of the arena and begin the tussle, with the 3rd seed Nidhogg Evo clearly making a beeline for Exertion, scooping it up on the wedge and lifting it into the air, holding it up while the crusher comes down, but it never makes contact with the top of Exertion as Masamune attacks Joey mid-attack, sliding in the sword lifter underneath and tipping Nidhogg Evo up and over! The seeded robot rolls over and lands on its wheels, reversing away from Masamune to line up another attack on Exertion, who rams in using all four magmotors in the drive to get that front scoop underneath the front of Nidhogg and use the S28-150 motor to lift last season€™s bronze medallist into the air, ramming it for the full length of the Robotagon and into the spike strip! CRASH! Nidhogg is flung away, but immediately goes back on the attack of Exertion and slides underneath the side again, pinning Andy against the spike strip and using the hydraulic lifter to raise the rammer€™s wheels from the ground while the crusher comes down from above! Masamune makes a ploy to halt this attack as well, but when Frank is just short of the 3rd seed 259 intercepts the barrel shaped machine, not damaging the hardox armour but rolling Masamune away across the arena and quickly following up that attack, ramming in with the flywheel and knocking Masamune into the spike strip! Meanwhile Nidhogg Evo has brought that crusher into play on the front right tyre of Exertion and pierced it, digging in deep before lifting Exertion into the air and reversing into the pit release button! Luckily for Exertion though this loosens the seed€™s grip and Exertion is knocked back to the ground, where it races away from Nidhogg before turning to meet Joey€™s oncoming onslaught, which never reaches Exertion because Masamune has recovered from 259€™s assault and comes thundering across the arena to penetrate the side of Nidhogg Evo€™s ground clearance and tip it over again! Masamune tries to follow up the attack and continue rolling Joey across the arena to the wall, but the lifter isn€™t fast enough to get flush to the floor again and Nidhogg Evo is quickly away, dodging around Masamune again to attack Exertion, who has been knocked around by 259 during Masamune€™s attack on Nidhogg. Joey lifts Exertion into the air and brings that crusher down on top again, holding the controlled rammer in place as it makes its way across the arena to the pit! Masamune follows to try and foil to the defeat of its team-mate, but is intercepted again by 259, who rolls it back around the arena and into the CPZ! Tranquiliser slams into Masamune with a CRASH! , but does little damage and Frank just rolls away out of the CPZ, back into the centre of the arena just as Nidhogg lowers Exertion into the pit! A puff of smoke signals the end of Exertion€™s run in this season of Robot SMASH!! , and as Masamune attempts to at least finish the seed by nudging it into the pit Joey reverses from the pit for Frank to almost drive in, but he reverses away only to be hit from behind by 259€™s spinning flywheel, which knocks it up into the air for it to come crashing down onto its wheels, but it doesn€™t land on its wheels as Nidhogg has run in underneath and so Frank lands on Nidhogg€™s lifter! Joey hoists Masamune into the air again, and doesn€™t even bother using the crusher as they are so close to the pit!
CEASE!
Exertion is exerted and Masamune joins it in the pit; Nidhogg Evo (3) and 259 go through to round 2!
*Henry appears in the middle of the Robotagon with the robots in their starting squares and the Roboteers on either side of him*
Henry: This is a Robot SMASH!! Series 3: Lock3d and Load3d Heat B round 1 match-up!
In the Red Corner, seeded number #19 Sheer Heart Attack 2 and GBOD!
In the Blue Corner, Lethal Execution and Supernova!
Sheer Heart Attack 2:
RS!!1: Knocked Turbo Tails around and out of the competition in round 1, but was flipped out of the arena by WORCK in round 2.
RS!!2: Teamed up on reigning champion Wedge Devolution with The Curse in round 1, but The Curse was pitted. In round 2 Y4€™s gas supply was ruptured and the robot flipped, and in the heat final Sheer Heart Attack 2 was flipped out of the competition by the champion.
GBOD:
RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
RS!!2: Supreme Glory Omega (3) dealt with Shrederator in round 1, then GBOD was knocked out by Knyfe in round 2.
Lethal Execution:
RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
RS!!2 (as Lethal Injection): Pitted by Axeon 3.0 in round 1.
Supernova:

#SMASH!!
Lethal Execution is using the hydraulic claw setup for this match, and flexes those powerful muscles in the magmotors that power that six wheel drive at a high voltage to move quickly across the arena towards the seeded robot Sheer Heart Attack 2, who ploughs on to meet the attack with the drum spinning upwards at full speed! Danny tries to veer away from the drum and attack the tracks, but Martijn ploughs on forwards into the side of Lethal Execution and throws it up and over, in doing so putting a large gash in the titanium armour! Meanwhile GBOD has spun up alongside Supernova and is contemplating an attack on the RW6 Heat H finalist, who has its own spinning disc running at full potency and decides to run in on the attack of the full body spinner shaped like a giant bell of death! CRASH! Both robots are flung across the arena on impact, with GBOD hitting the spike strip, but taking much less punishment from that hit than Supernova, who bounces away across the arena and lands in the CPZ for Ziggy to ram in underneath and fire the 4-bar flipper and send him sky high across the arena to come crashing down in the centre! Meanwhile Lethal Execution has recovered from its earlier damage and attacks Sheer Heart Attack 2 again, this time managing to tackle the C&BT2 champion side on and sink that claw into the both the top and bottom parts of the left track! Martijn looks worried up there in the control booth, even more so now as GBOD pushes Supernova back into the CPZ for Ziggy to give Alex some more air time, but the flight of Supernova is cut short by the pit release button which is depressed by the comparatively small bodywork of Supernova! The pit descends and Danny senses opportunity, gunning that six wheel drive over to the chasm and slowly but painfully releasing Sheer Heart Attack 2, the seeded robot of this battle as it slides from his grip and into the pit in a puff of smoke! Amidst this massive shocker of an event GBOD has spun up to full speed again and has its sights set on Supernova once more, slamming into the helpless realie and sending it spinning away across the arena to land broken and beaten on the flame pit, although now it seems it isn€™t quite beaten yet as the wheels spin to get it moving again, but the disc seems to be hanging loose and is motionless. Meanwhile though Lethal Execution (the surprise star so far of this four way melee) has taken advantage of GBOD€™s momentary stillness and breached the ground clearance with the bottom half of the jaw and pinned Leo against the spike strip before activating the hydraulic weaponry and gripping the bell shaped machine hard, stopping the shell from spinning again and holding on tight as Danny reverses away from the wall now with the promising GBOD in tow, turning towards the chasm and driving up right next to it before releasing GBOD and dumping the second defeated vapour spinner of this match on top of the seeded Sheer Heart Attack 2 to signal the first big shocker of the series so far!
CEASE!
Sheer Heart Attack 2 (19) has a sheer heart attack and GBOD is a dead giant bell; Lethal Execution and Supernova explode on through to round 2!
Battle Board:
Nidhogg Evo (3) vs. Lethal Execution
Supernova vs. 259
JP: We€™ll be back...
Henry: Right after the break!
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
...I survived? 259 went through? Was so not expecting either of those considering I was facing the twin forces for Frank Goacher and his logic :proud: Full credit to Andy and Frank though, and w00t to Liam for some...uh...w00ty fights :P
TACTICS: These will largely depend on what setup Dannys using, but will be some variation on grab, lift, crush, take to pit except if he is using the drum, in which case I will use a slightly different set of tactics to be revealed if that situation turns out to be true.
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
Right, well the obvious thing is to aim for the wheels, but keep front facing at all times, I think our disc could survive his quite easily if they hit so just try and attack the sides if possible.
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
As I recall, 259 has relatively light weight armour - and by my reckoning the advantage here is mine - I have a much broader field of attack than 259 due to being a horizontal spinner rather than vertical. Also, as I recall my disc is thicker so in a disc-disc hit I *should* come out the better.
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
Im using the drum, because I want to see what Joeys tactics are :P Ill try and knock him over, and keep up the agression without letting that slow self-righter come into play.
By the way, beating the C&B Champion means I am now, right? :P
(I use that smiley far too much...)
Robot SMASH!! III: Lock3d and Load3d
Nice try. :P
Nidhogg and Supernova in the final, I think.
