Mark is it easy to get around the Hammer Action and the 2 stage gearbox?
i can get hold of some 18v nutool cordless drills for £12 a go although once postage is added i dont know how cheap they would be
Ian, The Hammer Action itself is not too bad to deal with and the easiest way I can think of is leave the Selector on the gearbox, this allows you to also use the torque setting if you wish. The other problem is most Hammer drills are 2 speed and once youve taken the drills casing apart you need to fix this selector in place. We re-made the gearbox housings taking out all but the ring/planet gears needed and placing them in an aluminum housing. The 30V gearboxes were made completly in the wheels and on the 12V ones we left all three stages in so this featherweight is really slow but it burnt a few motors out on the higher ratio so this was a safer option.
thanks for the responses, those 30v drills seem like a good equivalent to the dewalts?
btw gary are the 18v nutool drills the ones with the 2 speed gearbox?
Its the NTCD18K from http://www.nutool.co.uk/ProductCatalogue.asp?ID=J02&Section=Power%2BTools& Count=1http://www.nutool.co.uk/ProductCatal...2BTools&Count= 1
If anyone is interested I will need to know soon as I do not think the offer will last long
Found some pictures of those 30V ones.

There is a rough size comparison of them with the compreesor motor which is the same size as the 18/12V drill motors and on 61 you can just about see the gearbox inside the wheels.
FYI these pics are very very large so unless your broadband expect very very long download times!
Not limited to space so didnt see the point in making them smaller, but just limited in the number of connections.
