SMASH!!
The question in everyone€™s minds at the beginning of this battle is will Razer make it to the heat final again, or is it curtains for the seeded machine early on here in the second round? Blue Sparks hopes for the latter as Danny spins up that hefty horizontal disc and goes on the attack, but Razer dodges the frontal attack using that nifty skid steering and gets under the side ground clearance of Blue Sparks, scooping it up on the wedge and pushing it across the arena while the crusher comes down and penetrates the left track! Danny looks on in dismay as Razer digs in, holding it in there for a few seconds before hoisting Blue Sparks high into the air and showing off its prize as the second highest seeded realie of the competition heads across the arena and hits the pit release button! However the impact knocks Blue Sparks off the crusher and Danny attempts a speedy escape. I say attempt though because with the broken track Blue Sparks merely limps around in a pathetic circle. Razer watches its prey with sadistic enjoyment before moving in and once again bringing the crusher into play, this time on the other track! Danny winces and Martijn reverses by the pit, lifting Blue Sparks up into the air as it does so. The wings stretch out proudly and Razer looks truly magnificent with Blue Sparks hanging brokenly from the crusher before Razer turns and dumps Danny€™s E-Tek powered spinning disc robot into the pit of oblivion in a puff of smoke.

SMASH!!
Just like in round 1 the eye-catching split-up of Weapon Synergy happens almost instantaneously as the crazy clusterbot scatters itself to different points around the arena, Ram pressing the pit release button while Disc moves in behind Black Panther and Flipper moves in from the front. Alex should be worried but he keeps his cool and pushes forward into Flipper, slamming the axe down on top and getting the axe into the thin titanium armour! Daniel attacks with disc from behind, but the hit isn€™t powerful enough and Black Panther withdraws its axe before slamming it into Flipper again, and this time gas gushes out of the hole and into the arena, as it seems the nitrogen bottle has been hit! Seeing this Alex gets his flipper underneath Flipper and turns it over before turning its attention to Disc, who hits Black Panther head on and this time manages to flip it over! And before Alex can self-right Ram comes in from behind and pushes the upside down Black Panther into Claw, who grabs it and slams it into the full speed spinner of Disc! Black Panther and Claw are rolled away, but now the 100kg robot is back on its wheels and attacks Disc again, this time getting the axe right through the top armour and then dragging it towards the pit, but Alex is unsure whether to risk dumping it in for fear of being pushed in from behind! But it doesn€™t take him long to think of a solution, and he swings Disc around into the unsuspecting Ram and puts them both down into the chasm in a puff of smoke! Claw comes in from behind to try and pit it still, but the motors just aren€™t powerful enough and Black Panther gives yet another of the clusters a smack with the axe, and although Axe comes along to try and help its last surviving team-mate it merely dents Black Panther€™s armour! Alex delivers Claw to the pit undeterred and turns to Axe, who reverses away onto the killsaws! BZZT! It€™s thrown over and Alex slams the axe into the base armour, stopping it from getting away and then reversing side on to the pit and then dumping Axe down into that hole that has seen the elimination of so many robots this season.
CEASE!
Weapon Synergy is axed; Black Panther prowls through to the heat final!

Razer (8) v Black Panther
Woo... good fights
Hmmm... now this should be an interesting fight.
My shape should make me pretty safe from razer at the front, in a head on collision I suspect Id get under him rather than the other way round. In addition my nice titanium foam layer is ideal for resisting a vertical claw weapon anyway, not only is the beak more likely to get lodged in it but just the extra padding means that it really isnt likely to ge through to anything imporant. Fortunatly the big arcs at the top should protect the axe mechanism because the claw wont be able to get over it to do any damage.
More of a worry is if it gets to my back section, but hopefully with my speed that shouldnt be too much of an issue. The main thing I need to aim to do is break its srimech then flip it, or, flip it and attack the sides hoping to rupture the drive or some such.
Oh and side note.... havign just watched razer vs terrorhurtz Im not going to fire my axe unless I get underneath him first or am at the sides, as otherwise hell get under me during the axe based bounce and Ill be in a pickle
Razer (8) vs. Black Panther
Sorry Alex, but Im going to have to go with Razer to dump you in the pit.
Heat M Final
Razer (8) v Black Panther
To get to this stage Razer (8) let Weapon Synergy deal with Holepunch, and then in round 2 pierced Blue Sparks€™ tracks and then pitted the powerful spinner.
The newcomer Black Panther was targeted in round 1 by D.V.D: The Sequel, but Alex€™s axe robot proved too strong and whacked the veteran repeatedly before pitting it, letting Blue Sparks stay in the background. In round 2 this promising robot took on the 5 20kg clusters of Weapon Synergy, confining four to the pit and flipping the Flipper after piercing the nitrogen bottle.

SMASH!!
You really couldn€™t get two opponents that look any different. There€™s the slick silver wedge with that impressive crushing claw known as Razer, and then on the other hand you have the odd semi-UFO design of Black Panther with the dual weapons and sleek black frame. Razer may be the seeded machine, but it€™s the newcomer that gets off to a better start here with Black Panther ramming into the front of Razer and managing to get underneath the low front wedge with the linear actuated flipper, which Alex uses now to flip Razer up and over sideways! Martijn quickly tries to self-right, but Alex turns into the base armour of Razer to stop it self-righting and lands an overhead blow on the crusher, breaking off the self-righting wing not touching the ground! However the important one in this moment in time is the other, still intact wing and Razer uses that to good effect now in order to get back onto those wheels. The two-time Robot Wars World Champion quickly skids away and turns to get under the side of Black Panther, a move not foreseen by Alex Holt at the controls! Martijn powers forward now and the crusher comes down, but comes onto the very top of Black Panther where the axe is hinged, and there€™s no damage to be done there. Alex fires the axe and the bounce frees him from Razer€™s wedge and Alex turns Black Panther into the side of Razer again, but it€™s the not the side that Razer won€™t be able to self-right from, so instead of flipping the seeded machine Alex merely pounds him with the axe, forcing the crusher into the downward position and in doing so getting a series of heavy impacts on the other self-righting wing! Martijn braces himself for the worse and the wing is quickly broken off, and of course Alex wastes no time in overturning Razer with his low power flipper, leaving the number #8 seed stranded on its side!
CEASE!
Razer (8) is given the chop; Black Panther prowls through to the series semi-finals!
Coming Next, Heat N:
Liar 2 (6) v Cat with Wheels v MeCannibal 2.0
Gravity v Turbo Tails v Phoenix Down
Sorry these next 2 fights are short, I couldnt find another good way to do them
Welcome back to Robot SMASH!! , where tonight will see the return of the number #6 seed Liar 2, who reached the quarter-finals last time around. With only three heats left it€™s looking pretty certain this tournament will be completed, so let€™s get one step closer to that ever-approaching goal that is the series semi-finals!
Eliminator 1
Created and entered by Martijn M Benschop, seeded #6, Liar 2!
This Wheely Big Cheese style invertible flipper robot with thwackbot capabilities has a full pressure rear hinged flipper on board and has proved in the past that it can send opponents sky high. However the wheels are exposed, no matter how tough they are.
In RS!!1: Sent Cyrilium 2 up, up and away with no trouble at all in the first round eliminator, and then in round 2 sent each 20kg cluster of Weapon Synergy over and out with some mighty flips. In the heat final there was a tougher match with Gabriel II, but eventually the front hinged flipper ended up in the pit and Liar 2 moved onto the finals, where it met eventual champion Wedge Devolution. It was a tough match with Liar 2 getting some flips and causing some damage with the side spikes, but it was no good and the Wedge continued to the series semi-finals.
Created and entered by Danny Bailey, Cat with Wheels!
A very simple wedge with a front hinged flipper design, this robot is painted the colour of a Tabby cat€™s coat. The actual name is if Cats Had Wheels We Could Have Cat Races, but this shortened name is far easier! Wedge Devolution proved last season simple can be good, can Cat with Wheels repeat that success?
In RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
Created and entered by Paul Cuomo, MeCannibal 2.0!
This extremely powerful shuffling ring spinner has a skirt around the robot that raises when the ring spins. There is plenty of shock proofing, but the power of the ring may cause MeCannibal control issues like last season.
In RS!!1: Life and Death died when they came face to face with MeCannibal 2.0 in the eliminator, but in the second round it was met by Seung Mina IV, who flipped it around before putting it in the pit.

SMASH!!
This match gets off to a very quick start, with the ring shaped MeCannibal very quickly becoming a blur as the 30kg spinning ring gets going, quickly becoming a blur as it shuffles across the arena to meet Liar 2! Paul tries to get to the wheels, but Martijn has better manoeuvrability and slides the low front of the flipper under MeCannibal without getting touched by the spinning blades! With a flick of the flipper MeCannibal is tossed into the air and comes down onto its side, ripping out chunks of the arena floor before crashing back down onto the arena floor! Liar 2 heads in again quickly before the ring gets spinning again and pushes in underneath MeCannibal 2.0, this time getting right in underneath and flipping MeCannibal sky high, and Danny (who once again hasn€™t done anything, because the other robot has taken care of things!) watches with awe as MeCannibal crashes down onto the camera tracks, leaving the arena and the competition earlier than last season, sadly for Paul.
CEASE!
A very fast match, and MeCannibal 2.0 is spun out; Liar 2 (6) and Cat with Wheels go through!
Eliminator 2
Created and entered by Steven McGregor, Turbo Tails!
This box wedge with a front hinged flipper and a rear spinning blade is well-known for being a classic video game character alongside Sonic the Hedgehog. It€™s weapons may be nice, but the srimech won€™t work properly a lot of the time and it is covered in fur!
In RS!!1: Became locked in a deadly embrace with Sheer Heart Attack 2 in round 1, and the judge€™s gave it to the Crash and Burn Tournament 2 champion.
Created and entered by Joey McConnell, Phoenix Down!
A parallelogram with invertible tracks powered by LEM-200s, this powerful rammer has interchangeable weapon bays with the standard setup being a claw at the front and a saw at the back. However the inverted wedge won€™t help matters, and like its predecessor it could really go down.
In RS!!1: (as Fire and Ice) Met up with Shadow Zone Returns in the first round and was tossed around the arena and out of the competition.
Built by WJ, Dijkstra (or however it€™s spelt, sorry!), entered by Andrew Jackson, Gravity!
This RW7 competitor reached round 2 of the semi-finals back then, throwing Dantomkia out of the arena in a record time of 6 seconds in the round before. The powerful rear hinged flipper also flipped Growler with ease in the House Robot Rebellion.
In RS!!1: Almost flipped Killotine: EVO out of the arena in round 1, but was clamped and pitted.

Three veterans who all went out in the first round of the first season, and only one of them has to repeat that horror. However that horror comes back to Phoenix Down pretty quickly in the quickest match of Robot SMASH!! so far as the Dutch flipper Gravity gets under the inverted wedge (ignoring the sparks from the saw) and pushes Joey towards the wall in 3 seconds and flips it out in 4, with cease being called in 5!

SMASH!!
Two extremely powerful flippers do battle in this bout, one of them also has thwackbot capabilities, is invertible and is seeded, but has a narrow area of attack and the question is will the realie Gravity pick up on that? Andy certainly hopes so, as he dodges the front of Liar 2 and tries to bring his own flipper under the rear end of Martijn€™s vapour, but Liar 2 swings around and spins Gravity away with a smack from the side spike. No real damage, but Liar 2 will get aggression points should this match go to a judge€™s decision. However Andy doesn€™t plan on a judge€™s decision just yet and gets in under the rear of Liar 2, ramming forward to get the seeded machine riding high on the wedge before he fires the flipper to send Liar 2 flying up into the air! A few seconds of air-time and Liar 2 is back on the arena floor with a CRASH(!), driving a short way away from Gravity before turning to try and get under the rear ground clearance, but Andy is too quick and swerves around to get the front of the flipper under Liar 2 again, and with another might effort from the colossal flipper Liar 2 gets thrown up into the air again, sailing through the air before landing just inside the arena wall! Quickly Martijn heads back into the centre of the arena and finally gets his own flipper under the rear ground clearance of Gravity, firing it to let Andy get some air time for himself, but Gravity lands well short of the arena wall and still on its wheels, allowing Andy to go straight back on the attack and get under the side of Liar 2 this time, ramming the seed across the arena and firing the flipper as the two career towards the arena wall! However Liar 2 was too far up the flipper and is thrown backwards off the wedge, landing behind Gravity with the flipper ready! Martijn gets underneath and flips, but again Gravity goes more up than across and lands just inside the wall, ramming under the side of Liar 2 again before pushing it across the arena and suddenly ending the match with one last big effort from that flipper that none of us really expected right now as Liar 2 seemed to be coming back strongly, but it€™s all over and Liar 2 teeters on the rails for a whole two seconds before finally wobbling on the wrong side of the wall and hitting the camera tracks, and it€™s that sound that marks the end of Liar 2€™s run in this season of Robot SMASH!! .

Both of these machines have front hinged flippers, though Tails also has a horizontal spinning bar on the rear of that box wedge design. What we are wondering at the start of this bout is who will join Gravity in the heat final and whether or not Turbo Tails€™ srimech will prove potent enough to get Steven€™s third robot into the semi-finals. We€™re about to find out soon though as the two robots meet head on, their ground clearances cancelling each other out before Cat reverses around and gets under the side of Turbo Tails before pushing in underneath and causing the rear blade to hit the floor with a CLANG! However right now the focus is on Cat with Wheels, who is right underneath Turbo Tails and fires the flipper, sending Steven tumbling over onto his back! Danny reverses a little while watching Turbo Tails as Steven fires the flipper hopefully, trying to get Tails back onto its wheels and back into this match, but it€™s no good and it seems Sonic€™s buddy is out of Robot SMASH!! again.

In round 1 Cat with Wheels left the battling to Liar 2 (6), who disposed of MeCannibal 2.0 by tossing it onto the camera tracks, but in round 2 Danny€™s front hinged flipper wedge had to actually do some work and flipped Turbo Tails onto its back.
Meanwhile Gravity threw Phoenix Down up and out of the arena in the eliminator before taking on the number #6 seed Liar 2 in the second round, eventually tossing it up and out after a tough match.

Another heat is almost completed, and so after this there will only be two more heats to do before the series semi-finals! Thirteen robots have already reached that point, but who will join their ranks tonight to make it fourteen? Both Gravity and Cat with Wheels want that semi-final spot pretty badly and they must do battle to get it, with only the winner moving on. Gravity makes the first move, dodging the front wedge of Cat with Wheels and trying to get under the side, but Gravity wheelies slightly as it drives forwards due to the only 2 wheels being at the rear and Andy goes straight up the sloped side of Cat with Wheels, who turns to get the flipper underneath and turns the Dutch machine up and over with a flick of the flipper! Gravity pulls off a neat bounce into the air to get back onto its wheels and attacks Cat again, this time managing to slip under the side and throw Danny€™s machine high into the air before it lands with a SMACK onto its front, easily self-righting before circling Gravity ready for another onslaught. However it€™s Gravity again that launches that onslaught, coming straight for Cat with Wheels again, getting in underneath the rear and throwing Danny up and over, only for him to self-right before coming round to get under the side of Gravity and push it to the arena wall to flip it up and over again. Andy self-rights and reverses away, but is followed by Cat with Wheels who unfortunately drives up the front of Gravity this time and is thrown high into the air with a truly colossal flip! Cat with Wheels flies through the air and the crowd gasps as it seems to be heading for the camera tracks, but lands with the rear end stacked on the arena side wall. Danny fires the flipper a couple of times to jerk itself down off the wall and drives away and around, getting in underneath the side of Gravity again, once again firing the flipper, but this time the Dutch machine lands on its side. Andy keeps the wheels spinning on though and wobbles back onto his wheels, turning to meet another onslaught from Cat with Wheels, getting pushed backwards into the wall before Cat with Wheels is just caught by Gravity€™s wedge and Andy powers across the arena, but flips too early so once again Cat with Wheels lands just within the arena before coming back on the attack, this time swerving to avoid the front wedge of Gravity and getting under the left front corner, driving in right underneath and flipping the RW7 semi-finalist onto its back and pushing it up against the arena wall, with Gravity being turned around as it self-rights and so Danny flips it again, and with Gravity facing in this new direction Andy can€™t self-right for fear of flipping himself over the barrier! The crowd begins the count, but Andy grits his teeth and fires the flipper, and with a whole lot of luck Gravity teeters on the edge before toppling back towards the arena! But it may not be so lucky after all as Danny saw it coming and drives in behind it, ramming Gravity against the wall so it turns right up and the nose of the wedge is almost vertical! And at this angle a forward hinged flipper is perfect for one thing- tossing other bots out of the arena! Need I say more?
CEASE!
Gravity cannot continue to defy gravity; Cat with Wheels races on to the series semi-finals!

Damn you Dan. However, I wont attack Dervish unless I really have to (note that, Liam :)), so I will be trying my darnedest to OOTA Killotine: EVO. Anywheres good, just get it out!
Tactics:
Seung Mina IV (4) vs. Killotine: EVO vs. Dervish V
Im going to stick with my original alliance here and attack Seung Mina. I dont recall a single flipper in RW history that has beaten a design like Dervish, and I dont think it will happen here. Just attack the sides until some lovely CO2 comes flying out of it. BEWARE OF THE PIT!
Welcome to the penultimate heat of Robot SMASH!! Series 2: Recharged. Tonight will see the return of the number #4 seed Seung Mina IV, who reached the quarter-finals last season before bowing out to the eventual runner-up Nidhogg.
Tough as Nails v With or Without You v Nitro-Gene 4.0
Seung Mina IV (4) v Killotine: EVO v Dervish V
Eliminator 1
Built by Jeroen, entered by Christopher Mason, Tough as Nails!
This invertible robot is a pair of claws with wheels on the sides, it really is. One of the hardox armour pioneers, this robot reached the semi-finals of RW7 before it lost a JD to Bulldog Breed 3. The weaponry consists of the pincers snapping shut via pneumatics to grab and then pit opponents.
In RS!!1: Didn€™t enter
Created and entered by Martijn M Benschop, With or Without You!
This two part clusterbot consists of a ramming brick and a powerful spinning blade capable of delivering 1-hit Kos, although the rammer is useless when inverted and the blade is immobilised when inverted, so this one doesn€™t want to meet any flippers.
In RS!!1: Came up against eventual quarter-finalist Whirligig 4.5 in the first round and was quite simply shredded.
Created and entered by Paul Cuomo, Nitro-Gene 4.0!
This invertible box wedge packs 36HP in the drive train and has a full pressure Nitrogen flipper to boot. This flipper is capable of 1600kg of force, and the hardox armour along with shockproofing will protect against spinners.
In RS!!1: Had a very tough battle with the promising Intrigue in the first round, but eventually managed to flip it out of the arena. In round 2 however Nitro got a taste of its own medicine and was thrown out by Gabriel II.

With only four eliminators of this season left to go, let€™s get the first one out of the way! The clusterbot immediately splits up, and Without You gets that blade up to speed while With goes for Tough as Nails, who grabs hold when the two meet, but is pushed backwards into the arena wall anyway. Meanwhile Nitro-Gene 4.0 heads for the unprotected Without You, who tries to get away, but is gotten under and flipped onto its back! And so early on in this bout With is left alone, and valiantly tries to pit Tough as Nails, pulling the Dutch crusher towards the pit release, but Chris lets go and reverses away, letting Nitro-Gene 4.0 come in and get under the rear of With, slamming it into the corner and onto the killsaws! BZZT! With is thrown away in a shower of sparks and Nitro-Gene 4.0 follows, getting in underneath again and throwing it high into the air, and With crashes down onto the arena floor with wrong way up! With tries to get away and manages to press the pit release, but now Tough as Nails is on the attack and gets in on the inverted scoop, and With manages still to push it back onto the killsaws! BZZT! Chris decides to let go again and stays away for now, and he doesn€™t need to do anything else as Nitro-Gene gets under the inverted scoop of With and throws it high into the air and over the arena wall, leaving it fall onto the camera tracks and out of this heat.
CEASE!
With or Without You is without success; Nitro-Gene 4.0 and Tough as Nails go through!
Eliminator 2
Created and entered by Kody Kunz, seeded #4, Seung Mina IV!
This powerful rear hinged flipper has interchangeable flipper plates (a normal plate or spikes) and can now choose to dump the flipper and have an anti-spinner ring around the robot, an option not available last season.
In RS!!1: Flipped Metal Sonic Spin Dash around in round 1 to win a judge€™s decision through to the next round, where it pitted the ring spinner MeCannibal 2.0. In the heat final Kody swapped the flipper plate for the spikes and flipped Flick of the Wrist around. It was rammed in return, but won through to the finals on another JD. In the quarter-finals it was drawn against Nidhogg, who lifted, crushed and pitted it. But there were condolences in the play-off for fifth place, and Seung Mina IV flipped Whirligig 4.5 out of the competition before helping Storm II get rid of Liar 2, and then disposing of Storm to get 5th place!
Created and entered by Steven McGregor, Killotine: EVO!
Essentially Storm II with an axe on top, this robot is a famous winner of many majors such as VGC 2003. It may be successful, but it€™s an old fashioned design and that could mean it gets eliminated by the more complex designs.
In RS!!1: Gave Gravity the axe in round 1, but was grabbed by the claws of Super Gore Evo in the second round.
Created and entered by Daniel Stickler, Dervish V!
This Barberous 2-lookalike full body drum is pretty lethal. It can thrown and rip robots up, although it didn€™t do too well in Robot SMASH!! Season 1. Flipping it does nothing, and it is hard to push around.
In RS!!1: Met Tempest Evil-est-oution in round 1 and was Spun out of the competition by thee invertible ring spinner.

The one to watch in this bout will surely be the seeded robot Seung Mina IV, who looks even more lethal than last season, heading straight for Killotine: EVO and breaching the side skirt on this first onslaught, pushing in underneath and flipping Killotine up and letting it do a sideways roll in mid-air! The crowd cheers and Kody smiles maniacally, but now Dervish V has spun up to speed and comes in on the attack on Seung Mina IV from behind, making a small gash in the rear armour and throwing it up and over! Mina self-rights, but finds herself on top of Dervish V€™s spinning body and she is thrown over again, and all of a sudden in comes Killotine: EVO and rams the upside down seeded machine into the arena wall to stop her self-righting and slams the axe into the base armour, clamping down hard and dragging the seeded machine across the arena to thwack it into the pit release! However the impact loosens Killotine€™s grip and Mina rights herself before resetting the flipper and ramming in underneath the side of Killotine and attempting to throw it out of the arena, but just as it leaves the flipper Killotine€™s axe fires and just snags on one of the bars of Mina€™s flipper, allowing it to fall back down and ram in underneath the seeded robot and push it into Dervish V who comes in from behind and flips Kody over again! Killotine hits the base armour with the axe again, this time getting a very strong clamp and heading for the pit, pushing the worrying seeded machine towards the chasm, but Kody fires the flipper and just manages to knock Killotine€™s hold off, but Dervish V runs in from the side and rips off a aide skirt, flipping Seung Mina IV onto its side as it does so! Mina falls onto her back again and although she self-rights Killotine: EVO runs in underneath the rear this time and clamps the axe down over the flipper, and even when Mina fires it the axe keeps a hold of it, managing to keep onto one of the bars and push Seung Mina IV down into the pit and out of the contest, quite possibly in the biggest shock we€™ll see this season!
CEASE!
Kody€™s tactics let Mina down slightly and the fourth seed bows out of the contest; Killotine: EVO and Dervish V go through to round 2!

Damnit...I really want TAN to go through here...but bleh. Dervish to win. :lame:
Ill get you next time, Dan. :proud:
(Message edited by kodster on August 29, 2008)
And my little dog too? :proud:
Oh crap, Im fighting TAN in this tourn and Flank Attack in the other tourn, and they are both against Dervish! Eeeep!
Tactics
Luckily, TAN does have exposed wheels going against it, so that will be my aim - to attack the wheels and the penumatic ram at the back. If TAN attempts to get a grip on me, spin madly in a circle so the claws cannot grab the body.
Not your just little dog, Dan...
Early revised tactics for next (and last) heat!
Heat P
Nidhogg (2) v Leprosy Infection v Under Pressure
MARTIJN! YOUR BOT ISNT FINISHED! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? =O
Drum Boy v Envy v Sonic Boom
Slag Dans team-up; Ill team up with Samuel if he wants, and attack Daniel now. I want revenge for what just happened. :proud: The weaponry of Sonic Boom shouldnt do much, Envy is one tough machine and should come out on top here. Just flip it around, push into the pit, the usual.

Never mind, screw those tactics. Ill re-post when the actual heat comes up. :P
Kody your team up is accepted.
Well see about that...
mwahahaha!!!! :proud:
Meh, so falls Seung Mina IV...worst performance ever, but its coming back...
Just not in RS: 3. :proud: Maybe 4. :proud:
Welcome back to Robot SMASH!! , where round 2 of the penultimate heat is about to get underway. In round 1 we saw the biggest shock of the series so far when the fourth seed Seung Mina IV crashed out of the contest when it tried to take out Killotine: EVO, but instead was munched by Dervish V.
While that was happening Nitro-Gene 4.0 and Tough as Nails took out the clusterbot With or Without You.
Nitro-Gene 4.0 v Killotine: EVO
Dervish V v Tough as Nails
Heat Semi-Final 1
Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a round of applause for the return of Nitro-Gene 4.0 and Killotine: EVO.

SMASH!!
This should be an interesting round. It€™s the extremely powerful flipper and push-ability of Nitro-Gene 4.0 pitted against the dangerous axe and previous success of Killotine: EVO. Both are the standard box wedge shape, but Nitro-Gene gets off to a quicker start today and drives around to the side of Killotine: EVO, but Steven turns to meet Paul head on and as their ground clearances cancel each other out and Nitro pushes Killotine back across the arena, but Steven fires the axe and puts a small dent in Nitro€™s flipper. All the same Steven finds himself on the killsaws and is bounced upwards into the air, allowing Nitro-Gene to rush in underneath with the flipper, but the killsaws stop Nitro-Gene from ending the match via an OOTA and spin it away in a shower of sparks. The tyres seem to be OK after that, but not after this next attack, which sees Killotine: EVO run in from the side and breach the side skirt of Nitro-Gene 4.0 and bring the axe down directly onto the front left wheel of Nitro-Gene and hold on in there! Paul struggles, but the axe is in there and it isn€™t coming out. Paul however fires the flipper and does manage free itself, but only temporarily as it is chased across the arena by Killotine: EVO. But now Paul pulls around and gets under the side of Steven€™s machine, throwing it high up into the air with 1600kg of force behind that flip! Killotine turns over in mid-air and crashed back down onto the ground on its lid. Nitro-Gene comes in underneath and starts pushing Steven, who self-rights off Nitro-Gene and pushes into the side again, but this time the side skirt does its job and Killotine drives up the side of Nitro-Gene, stopping at the middle of the angled side. But that doesn€™t mean Nitro is safe from the axe, which comes down and goes through another tyre! Nitro€™s manoeuvrability will be seriously impaired now, and Killotine uses that to its advantage, holding the axe on in there and beginning to push Nitro-Gene 4.0 across the arena, but with Killotine on the side skirt Nitro manages to turn around and get underneath the side of Killotine: EVO, now ramming full speed into the arena wall with a CRASH! And now Paul gets the flipper underneath and hits the button, hoping to get Killotine up and over the barrier, but it goes more up than across here because of the position Killotine was in on the wedge, and Steven drives over the top of Nitro-Gene 4.0 before turning around and ramming into the rear, getting in underneath and hitting the top of Nitro-Gene with the axe again, but not making much of that hit. But now Nitro-Gene goes into reverses and drives over the top of Killotine, but before getting to the rear Steven uses the axe as a front hinged flipper and inverts Nitro-Gene, who despite being invertible does a stylish 540 degree turn in the air and neatly lands on its wheels. Paul now powers back into Nitro-Gene and somehow manages to get under the front plough, getting right in underneath before once again powering that fantastic flipper and sending Killotine high into the air, before he comes plummeting back to earth and lands on top of Nitro-Gene€™s open flipper, which snaps shut when Killotine lands on it. Steven drives off Nitro-Gene and comes around on the attack, hitting the same wheel it first punctured earlier on with the axe and pushing Paul across the arena and into the arena wall. Steven pulls the axe out of Nitro and reverses back a bit, and now there€™s very little movement from Nitro-Gene! It bounces along a bit on one side, but now in goes Killotine again and gives Nitro a whack in the bodywork with the axe! And now all movement has stopped- nothing is happening and the crowd counts the valiant veteran Nitro-Gene 4.0 out. Both these robots went out in round 2 last series, and it seems Nitro-Gene 4.0 has again, but Killotine: EVO beats its previous record. And as the camera zooms in we see the cause of Nitro-Gene€™s sudden immobilisation- the link was loosened by Killotine€™s axe blows throughout the match, and that last blow knocked it out completely.
CEASE!
Nitro-Gene 4.0 is executed; Killotine: EVO goes through to the heat final!
Heat Semi-Final 2
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome back to the coliseum Dervish V and Tough as Nails!

SMASH!!
Both these robots are invertible and have effective weapons that work just as well when inverted, but that€™s where the similarities end. Dervish V is the full body drum designed to cause major punishment, while Tough as Nails is the perhaps less conventional full body claw designed to grab and then pit opponents. But Chris is finding it hard to get a grip on Dervish V, and Daniel just ploughs straight into the centre of TAN and flips it over, exposing the rear of the Dutch crusher to attack, and that€™s exactly what Dervish does, slamming into those exposed wheels with the drum spinning upwards at full speed and beginning to eat away at the one on the right! Chris tries to pull around and get away from Dervish, but Daniel swings around after him and this time hits the wheel side on, badly buckling it! Tough as Nails is in real trouble now and drives in circles, trying to grab Dervish V, who has reversed safely out of reach. And just at the right time Daniel rushes back in and slams into the other wheel with the drum spinning at top speed, although this wheel isn€™t too badly damaged at a glance that is until you realise Dervish is munching away at the wheel itself as it pushes TAN across the arena! And that dangerous spinning weaponry has eaten away almost the entire wheel, meaning Tough as Nails now has very limited mobility, not even making a full turn. The crowd can see that TAN isn€™t going anywhere soon, and they count the Dutch crusher and only newcomer of this heat down and out of the wars.
CEASE!
Tough as Nails wasn€™t tough enough; Dervish V whirls onto the heat final!
And so the penultimate heat final will be:
Killotine: EVO v Dervish V
BOOOOOOOOO! :proud:
Meh, Killotine to ultimately axe the tires of Dervish after getting tossed about once or twice.
Here are my tictacs whilst I offer Kody a tactic
*Kody chokes on flip it OOTA*
Mwahahaha...
Right-o, basically aim for the axe of Killy and try and rip it clean off. Without a weapon it cant really damage me anymore.
Quiet, or I will have to hurt you. :P
Aim for the pit and box-rush it to death. :lame:
And so we come to the penultimate heat final of Robot SMASH!! Series 2: Recharged, after 14 heats of total destruction there are only 6 battles left before the series semi-finals.
In round 1 Killotine: EVO was targeted by Seung Mina IV (4), but Dervish V targeted the seed and eliminated it in the biggest shock of the series.
Killotine: EVO had a long and hard fight with Nitro-Gene 4.0, eventually knocking out the link with a killing blow.
Meanwhile Dervish V tackled Tough as Nails, buckling the wheels and immobilising the full body claw.

SMASH!!
The full body drum that is Dervish V immediately starts revolving as the signal for the fight to begin is given, and before Killotine: EVO knows it those LEMCO-130 motors have spun the dangerous weapon up to top speed and Dervish is making its way across the arena to attack Killotine: EVO, who uses its own LEMs now to power across the arena and get the front wedge under Dervish V, the hardox armour taking minimal damage from the drum and managing to push Daniel€™s machine onto the killsaws! BZZT! Dervish is spun around, and gets hit by Killotine€™s axe, which puts a hole in the aluminium armour of Dervish V and allows Killotine to drag it back across the arena, but the drum starts spinning again and Steven loses his vice grip. Dervish V reverses away and gets that weapon up to speed again, and although Steven tries another box-rush Daniel pulls around to the side of the former VGC Champion and rips off a side skirt, flipping Killotine up and over in the process, attacking the base armour and then rolling Killotine across the arena, over and over before slamming it against the arena side wall and ripping the side hardox panel clean off! Killotine is in trouble now, but manages to escape to safety before coming around on an attack and pushing Dervish side on, bringing the axe down onto one of the exposed tyres of Daniel€™s drumming machine! Killotine holds the axe in there and pushes Dervish against the arena wall, but the impact loosens the axe€™s grip and Dervish V escapes, allowing Daniel to spin up that lethal drum weapon again before coming around on the attack and trying to get at Killotine€™s exposed internal workings, but Steven pulls around so that Daniel meets the front wedge of Killotine: EVO and drives straight into Dervish, driving it across the arena and into the corner, onto the killsaws once again! BZZT! Dervish is thrown off again and drives away from Killotine in order to get that spinning drum body up to speed, and when it does it comes back around on the attack, dodging Killotine€™s third box rush and pulling around in a second attempt to get a good onslaught into the internal workings, but Daniel (due to the slightly impaired mobility due to the damaged tyre) has pulled around too late and hits the rear of Killotine, but he still manages to rip off the skirt there. To make sure the drum doesn€™t do any more damage Killotine: EVO reverses into Dervish V and pushes it across the arena and against the pit release button! The siren wails and the chasm descends, giving the two drivers another thing to worry about in this fight. And now comes another turn for Killotine to attack, with Steven pulling around and wedging Dervish V against the arena wall, stopping the drum and the robot€™s mobility for now. The axe comes down, but goes right over Dervish V and hits the barrier, doing no good whatsoever. Steven withdraws the axe and pins Dervish V in this position for the full 30 seconds, perhaps just trying to keep the drum away from the insides of Killotine: EVO. But now those 30 seconds are up and Killotine: EVO is ordered to reverse away from the wall, therefore freeing Dervish V, who spins up again and comes at Killotine, who attempts another wedge attack and is successful, jamming Dervish V up against the arena wall. Those LEM-130s in Killotine€™s drive are really paying off, but once again Steven has to reverse and now Daniel spins up again, this time managing to avoid Killotine€™s attempt to wedge it again and comes around to attack the un-protected side of Killotine, and finally it is successful, rolling Killotine over and over again and flipping the unprotected side over onto the killsaws! BZZT! Killotine is lifted into the air and Dervish drives in again, flipping it up and ripping the remaining side skirt, managing to stack Killotine: EVO on the arena wall, and now Steven€™s machine is really looking the worse for wear. He fires the axe to jerk it down off the arena wall, but now Killotine is only going in circles, and it seems the wires connecting the left drive motor to the batteries were cut through by the killsaws! And with next to no control Killotine drives straight forward into the arena wall, firing the axe helplessly. Daniel smiles and powers up the drum one last time before slamming in and rolling Killotine: EVO up against the arena wall, causing some more superficial damage as the fantastic axe robot rolls over the barrier and out of the contest, and landing on the camera tracks in a broken and beaten heap.
CEASE!
Killotine: EVO is all cut up; Dervish V whirls onto the series semi-finals!
Next time on Robot SMASH!! , the final heat!
Nidhogg (2) v Leprosy Infection v Under Pressure
Drum Boy v Envy v Sonic Boom
NOTE TO MARTIJN: How near is Under Pressure to completion?
will see if I can finish it this very night but I wont be asking you to put your tournament on a halt for it :) , I finally (yesterday actually) figured out what direction its gonna take, sorry it took so long
Thats fine, I dont mind waiting a while but I dont want this to be a repeat of MN2 :proud:
Really, Im stuck between getting my sweet revenge on Daniel, or taking out a potential obstacle.
Hmm...
...Ive decided Ill team-up with that obstacle. :proud: As I said, axlebots arent a problem, and the weaponry doesnt look potent enough to do much harm. Ram it straight down the pit.
