Craig, with all due respect you cannot possibly tech check all those machines in only half hour especially with all the new spinners due to be there.

Craig, with all due respect you cannot possibly tech check all those machines in only half hour especially with all the new spinners due to be there.
the tech checks can carry one during the filming as one robot can be filmed while others are being tech checked
See you on Sunday
im a bit gutted that we cant film our own fights tbh. also do you think you have given enough time inbetween shows? whats the minimum time we will have to turn around our robots? with it also being a full combat event their is gonna be some damage.
Adrian - Filming, theres nothing we can do about that you will be given a copy of the final film, but it would breach our filming contracts if you film your own footage
Between shows- yes there is enough time
15-20mins will be the minimum turn around time
sunday? isnt this comp on saturday? perhaps im missing something.
Sunday is the day for the FRA final inspection where the arena will be given its grading.
oh i see, cheers trev. I guess im ok to pay my 2009 fra membership at this event?
is this in burntwood tomorrow ?
might aswell pop down if it is and have a look at the arena :P
Adrian, yes that will be fine.
LJ and anyone else interested, popping over to see the arena is up to Craig but Im sure that he will agree that we would like to do the inspection without distractions or interruptions.
Can understand the not allowed to film the fights situation, kinda like wanting to take a camcorder into the roboteer booths in Robot Wars, wasnt gonna happen due to the fact it was being filmed for TV. Its cool though that we get a copy of the fights though, bound to be much better quality than the standard home camcorders
Craig, does the filming restriction apply purely to fights or for the pits area etc too? Just wondering as I was planning on getting some pre/post fight interviews in the pits for the video diary, plus some general pits activity.
Cheers
karoline - i only want to have a look ill get my dad to phone him tomo - we only live 5 mins away so i will only pop down for 2 mins even if its after you lot have gone or even before
im not attending the event so unless craig has events planned for the future this may be the only time i see the arena
np
i bet you lot wish you only lived 5 mins away
enjoy the drive
Going in Geoffs jag :proud:

last test before event on 12v, thought i would save 24v for the day, plus it makes me nervous when its not in an arena, just a bit of armour to fit and im finished, 5 days early! put a pic on profile of what it did to 4mm mild steel, the box section behind was 1.5mm wall, that seems to have disapeared. also managed to knock out my own link on the last hit but have upgraded to a better one.

Ok everyone we had the arena inspection today.
Arena was inspected by Steve and the inspection was also attended by Geoff, Karoline, Grant, Mouldylocks, Learo, Learo Jnr and Grants girlfriend whos name I dont know (sorry)
We struggled with floor issues which we did sort out while everyone was there, the whole arena floor was down, the polycarb screens where up but the roof wasnt up until after the inspection had finished, we spoke to Geoff and Steve who both inspected the roof parts as they were.
We decided that due to the failing weather that people should make a move before it became to snowed in, we (me and the crew) carried on fitting the roof after we discussed we Geoff and Steve, about Steve coming back once the arena roof was up which it now is.
With this agreement in mind I spoke to Andy Kane and Geoff Smith earlier tonight and was informed me that the Rebel Robots Arena is Officially Grade 2F and will be upgraded to Grade 2 once Steve has come to see the completed roof
this should eliminate any doubt in the arena and the worry that we would cancel this event.
on the event, we have everything in place for the day, CO2 tables power cables event a back up generator should Magnas power go down as it has in the past
Best of luck people see you next week
...sorry Craig for my butting in...
Grant I owe you a big apology for keep on calling you James. I promise to get it right from now on.
Craig - go and wash yer face! :proud: You have worked extremely hard on this and I wish you every success.
He wont care coz he can have a cup of tea, coz he has got milk.
I will just have to learn to take it black
Rather black than with an oil slick floating on top
Well done Craig and crew!
Looks sweet Adrian
And well done Craig!
:)
Grant cant make it so im entering Venom. Spoke to craig to make sure its alright
To Clarify, there have been a couple of people drop out all have been replaced with our reserves list, Venom is in for Ploughbot and Conundrum has been replaced by Miss Tilly
dont do that to me
Craig
Im sure you will be ok for numbers but if you get stuck for robots I could send Mark or Zack down with Tron.
:)
sorry craig, but i am going to have to pull out after my latest problem. my motor has knackered and it was brand new. i dont think i cant get one before saturday as i had to wait a while to recieve this one (Speed 700 turbo C) i dont want to replace it for the same thing to happen again and that one fail after 2 minutes use. the other seems to be ok so perhaps it was a dud, i dont know.
Adrian,
Would it be possible to swap out your current drive motors for a drill motor system?
Craig, If you need any more reserves then Alex from team Blitz can bring his robot, he was going to join our team anyway so he can bring Blitz if you want.
Hi Gary, not a chance mate. i will try and order a new motor tomorrow but its whether it arrives in time. the last one had to wait ages for it to arrive, i have a number for a couple of model shops that list it so will see if any have one in stock. i have found what caused the problem so it can be resolved with a new motor. my only other way of fixing it is with a different matching set of speed 700 motors.
Craig,
After the conversations we had together on Sunday, on behalf of Geoff, Jenny and myself, we are very sorry but we are going to have to pull Pillow Torque and Pain in the Asp from the competition. This is in order that we are able to fully concentrate on carrying out the tech checks and to ensure the smooth running of your shows under such a tight schedule.

Karoline
Discussed it with Dave Moulds and Were confident we can tech check all the robots between us in that time , this will allow you the time to get Pillow Torque and PITA ready for combat
out of interest- which tech check sheets are being used? The new style that were put together at the last big FRA meeting? or the normal old less acurate ones?
As it wasnt me that signed up Pillow, other than the tech checking I was not going to attend the event anyway due to the sheer cost.
Confusion now sorted.. See you there!
