I second Pauls query, the stats on the RR website are somewhere to the left of uninformative :proud:
And no Envy?
Yes. Can I ask why the stats for the robots on the RR Stat bank are so uninformative. All it says about Hortron is 10mph, low pressure flipper, maybe it has armour :proud: And its the same with the other robots. Having done FanFic where you need to be incredibly specific to detail, wed prefer if in Envys stats, it told us everything about the weapon, the AMOUNT of wheels, and other important things so we can get an overview of it all.
And what happened to Envy and Terrorhurtz? I had them as near-certs to get to the Quarters or beyond, so what happened to them?
i believe that the teams provide the info the wanted displayed on the RR site, perphaps these teams dont want to give anything away so i wouldt call it uninformative
Ummm...
go Iron Awe 5 :proud:
Thats where youre wrong, Paul; Hortron doesnt have a flipper, it has a fipper :proud:
Hortron has a fipper just like ol Mace 2 had a rear-fail, meh
really though, did the Hortron Team really tell RR they had a fipper without explaining what on Earth a fipper is? :proud:
Its secret technology, they didnt want their opponents showing up with anti-fip devices, hence the lack of detail.
Question answered. :proud:
Guys all info stu puts in the database is what he gets from the team. So if there is little info talk to the team not RR.
Thz got flipped out by iron awe 5 and Envy tapped out against Tiberius. Tiberius lost against big nipper.
Big nipper just lost against iron awe. It is now against Ripper for third and fourth place.
Final will be dantomkia vs iron awe 5.
As Alex says, all the information on robots on the RR database is provided by the teams themselves. Some robots admittedly dont have all the fields filled in and it would be good if the teams could do so, because it would keep everything on the database accurate, full and up-to-date.
Paul, one reason theres no need to be so specific with database stats as in fanfic is that these robots are real. Fanfic writers rely on so much information so that they can get an accurate idea of how the robot will perform, its potential flaws and pitfalls and to generally gain a idea of how the robot looks (often aided by some awesome renders guys :)) Real robots dont have writers describing their battles, they actually compete, so any pitfalls and flaws in the design will become apparent in battle and can been seen and watched by people, therefore less detail is required as everything is played out in real life
Big nipper is now third. Ripper evo ended up fourth
I was going to say that in a more condensed fashion :proud:
Bit unfortunate there, my two tips to win the championship coming up against each other :P but given this latest info, I think Iron Awe will win...best of luck to both teams though. :)
And the winner even though the opponent was definately winning up to the moment it just stopped is....
Iron Awe 5
Well done to the iron awe crew, both their robots have been outstanding this event.
Great thank you to roaming robots and I will be there next year to take the title to Holland and Belgium. :)
Wasnt that the intention this year as well, Leo? :proud:
Congratulations to Iron Awe then, its done well over the past few months and is very deserving of the title, in my opinion...and congratulations as well to Jonno for sorting the event out when a few days ago it wasnt looking like it was going to happen, so credit is due there. :)
If this is being released on DVD, Leo has spoilt it for all of us  Mind you, posting the results of last year up spoilt it as well, but what the hey? Ill still buy it :proud:
And well done to Iron-Awe, in winning, and in getting one over Big Nipper at last
If this is being released on DVD, the results would have been published on the RR website anyway before its release, so the chances of getting a hold of the DVD and not finding out who won until you watched it are slim.
Its somewhat of a procedure with live events that the winners get announced in the threads shortly after happening; its happened for the past two years with the UK champs, and with just about every other live event run in this country. Leo just happens to be the first person who knows the result to get online; if he hadnt mentioned it, someone else would.
Oh, and well done Iron Awe!! :)
CONGRATULATIONS IRON AWE!

Team RCC is both Dutch and Belgian.
mmmkay...
Go Belgium!
Well done Team Iron Awe. :)
Also a very big thanks to Jonno and the team for getting the champs off the ground in such difficult circumstances,
this was a marked improvement on all the worlds air forces who bottled out when things got wet.:uhoh:
:)
was a fun event apart from it being called off even though most of us have got tans from today!
well its been the topic for months about iron awe winning the champs so well done
wanted batterbot to win though as you lot beat thor, me and then ripper  was very close
well its time to blame my dad for something and he took off the back panel which helps us self right so we couldnt self right! but we stopped working but it would have been different! lol
not many events left this year but 2009 sounds interesting! :)
there was a 1 min clip on the bbc friday night news 6pm prob of us robots - i aint got a clue how to find it on the bbc website but if someone does post it here :)
yes well done Team Iron Awe
and a very well done to Sarah for driving Dantomkia it was very close untill the link came out!
very big thankyou to Roaming robots and all staff
also to the Riat staff for letting us go on
Well guys, Im back in Edinburgh now, Id like to take this oppertunity to thank Mr Stu, Jonno & the rest of the RR crew for putting on such a great show and congratulations to Iron-Awe for winning (despite not being there to see the final ) But the only thing that matters is that this event still happened which I think would not! :proud:
well done mr Grimm. unlucky DTK.
Envy is was having problems and even struggled to beat storm force. my bigest nightmare was to draw tiberious and it happened. great bunch of lads we had a discussion and i said if they were to get hold of envy and i knew it was gonna damage it as it would lose then i would tap out and so it happened. tiberious has a new front scoop and it got under envy first and with that part of the armour being 5mm ali it was sure to cost me money which i dont have at the mo. was a bit dissapointed with envy anyway it had probs and dont think it would have gone the distance anyway. envy is a good robot with lots of potential and i love it but i need to build another and to do that i need money so envy might be up for sale shortly. need a couple of days to think first tho.
good on you jonno you did really really well at keeping this eventon track your a star and the most dedicated person there is.
thanks all the others for the cool social at camp bud had a great laugh.

you will regret selling it mr swan! so dont :)
although beauty is forsale for £2000 ;)
Andy will buy that one first Im sure
I just got back home... cheers for the people who helped take down, was nice to get the arena down in record time so we can go home, or in half the crews case - back to the camp site for some well deserved beers.
It was up and down. ,... i got to the camp site Thursday night and thought this is going to be horrible weekend... the mud was just really bad.. cars getting stuck etc. I managed to pull mine through. hehe (with a bit of help).
But as the days went on, it picked up and was ace.. then when the show was called off for Saturday, we went on a small downer.. then when Sunday was called off.. then everyone was on a mega downer.... but then Jonno talking to the Head RAF guys etc... managed to let us do our champs on the Sunday - everyone was buzzing and went back to the camp site for a aprty...
starting at 10am till about 6am i think was a fun day - even RAF and army and other stall crews taking down their event sections came and sat in our seating and watched and gave us a bit of a buzz.. and the funny roboteer aundience laughs.
Well done to Iron Awe... and Must say Sarah really shined today with Dantomkai - well done babes!! xxx.
Was a great weekend.. hoping to get event report and pictures online tomorrow - and movie clip and full report/results will be online at the end of the week.
Not sure on the DVD front - thoughearly viewing the footage briefly, it looks good, so never know... keep an eye on the web site.
Anyway - great weekend in the end... more of a buzz i think an all roboteers party and fighting day...
Mr Stu
Would love Beauty Kody. Luke wouldnt let me buy it though cos its pink.
Was a very good event I thought. I am dissapointed for DTK, it was awaesome for most of the event. Its one thing losing but your link falling out in the UK championsip finals? That just sucks!! That said, well done to Iron Awe 5.
Was a bit dissapointed with Hydra and just unfortunate the way it landed cos the ram pulled itself out and the flipper bent. Although we were almost not competing because of the weight. Spot on 100kg after taking off EVERYTHING i was allowed to take off. Swan did fall for the foot under the scales trick (lost 6kg that time:proud:).
Andy
id sell it but dno if my dad would as so much time has gone into it and i dont think we can make a better flipper - im hoping to move into the axe class but its all money which ill need for car insurance lol
soo anyone stuck any fights on youtube yet :)
just got home, had a good evening at the campsite, just wish to say congratulations to Iron Awe. thourghly enjoyed the fight, no excues the key should have been fitted better. Loved every minute of it, Jonno fantastic event.
Although my dad said we were going to retire, Dantomkia is going to stay and come back from what it now knows even stronger, look forward to the ret of this year and to see you all next year.
I still want that rematch Iron Awe.
I know you had a play afterwards with my dad driving, hes not as good as me, which was very obvious.
look forward to seeing you again.
well done iron awe 5 and well done dtk and i did better than last year
It was -despite all the bad luck with the horrible weather- a terrific event. I mean, the atmosphere was there, that sizzling tickling buzzing were-gonna-get-there-till-the-Finals good old days feeling that I am so fond of in this sport. As well as the were-gonna-get-this-car-thru-tmuck feeling that I now cherish LOL. Jason, YOU DA MAN, DA CON-KEER-OR of DA MUCK !
Id say that this was a technically good championships, with not too many robots having technical problems (only 2 fights had to be postponed).
Well done to a robot that combined good engineering with good driving, although a self-removing-link is a nice thing to have in an opponent...:proud:
And well done to the crew of Roaming Robots, whom not even torrential rains could keep from trying to keep that arena up. (It stayed up.) And who are not to be downed by such trivial matters as the biggest airshow in Europe cancelling on the spot.
And oh man, that follow-the-leader game between the Spitfire and the Typhoon... ahhh, that was just icing on the cake. Plucky Spit.

sarah go and give your dad a big kiss cos he deserves it. i am very very proud of him.
that typhoon and spitfire was just one of the best things i have seen. its one of those things i will probably never see again. lucky i got it on vid tho it is wobbly.
Swanny, can you place that one on youtube? I would love to see that again. That and the F22 Raptor flying on Friday made my trip worth while on its own. The champs where a great bonus. :)
Big thanks to Jonno and the crew for a really good day yesterday. When we turned up on Friday in the pouring rain and heard that the airshow had been cancelled I was expecting that wed all be heading straight home again. Well done to Dantomkia for a really good performance, greatly improved on last year although obviously unlucky in the final to loose the link. My plan of tieing a piece of string between their link and my robot obviously worked
Rob
P.S. Sarah, happy to have a grudge match whenever you want just name the time and place!!
its only about 15 seconds of it cos when they started to fly round my jaw dropped and i stood in awe then realising i had my vid camera i rushed to get it just in time for about 20 seconds before they split and landed. i will try and get in onto my pc when i get home from work. never done vids to pc before either. mabee someone else vidded it.
