i would just flip it oota adrian :)
I drive on the arena flipper all the time, its fun. :)
lets go to the ticket office and buy tickets for real street here.... you have obviously damages your reciever over time. mabee its been getting a little looser every time you have dropped it on the floor. i think its just a case of you being unlucky and your reciever breaking on that flip. is it possible it could have happened when you drop your robot on the floor, and kenny just finished it off. a little bit of extra armour wouldnt stop thinng like that happening. i would like a bit of extra armour so thor or thz can have a good go at envy. i am not talking about 35kgs worth either. if damage happenes it happenes and it does. i dont think there is a part in envy now that was in there at the 2007 uk champs. all due to damage from friendly fights. but then mabee i wouldnt have found all these faults if i didnt do so many friendly fights. i believe i now have a realible running robots still with minor teething probs but i really dont have the time and money to rerpair ali armour after every event. hence mabee a little bit of hardox here and there would help me and save time and money. come the competitions envy WILL weight 100kg mabee less. lets face it if your feather weight can withstand a flip from kennys robot then you are on the right track. if it hasent then you have a problem to solve. fighting ott robots mabee is a good thing cos then you KNOW you will be good for battle when the competition comes round
My question is regarding the 1000psi releif for low pressure systems.
i didnt think of it on the day so will ask on opinions now.
If you have a line between the regulator and the bottle (in this case a solid device rated to 3000psi) can the burst disc in the bottle (rated about 2000max i was told) be replaced for a 1000psi releif? or burst disc of much lower capability? this means that the bottle can never be over the rating of FP parts of the system, so would this be ok?
It would save alot of weight, and alot of space.
Burst disks in the larger CO2 and other gas bottles are at least rated at 3000psi.
But in paintball bottles the burst disks are regulary lower value, between 1750 and 2000 psi.
sorry double post

i still believe its very coincidental tbh,it seems you know my robot better than i do lol. anyways however damage is caused, i still believe robots should be weighed for any type of competition, whether its a fun, whiteboard etc... then all roboteers know what they stand b4 they put their robot in the arena.
same as when a spinner is run, people are aware on the competition board that if they enter a whiteboard they can clearly see if a spinner is in their b4 hand, i think maybe the same should be their for overweight robots. all robots are tech checked for a fight, and their is a clear box to write the weight so i dont think their is too much more work involved.
fra build rules distinguish robot weight limits, which is exactly as it says A WEIGHT LIMIT.
the arena has to comply with fra guidlines whether it is a fun event or major competition, and i think this should be the same for robots.
i build my robots to the limit and whether it gets damaged badly or only slightly, i except it and it comes with the territory.
i havent got a problem with people putting extra weight on for friendlys to save damage i just think it should be made aware to all.
I think Adrian is spot on with this.
Adrian.. Kenny is getting that robot within weight whilst keeping the same flipper setup. So your going to have to get used to it if your going to fight it. It didnt weigh 19.5kg.. he weighed it again at work and it was around 15.8kg.. still way over the top, but not when you consider his flipper arm was 3kg.. He will easily get it into 13.6kg with abit of thought.

na seriously, good it will be an awesome machine, beauty needs some stiff competition in the flipper department lol.
unfortunately im moving on to a hw, shame as im sure my spinner would have had a good go at him lol.
