Maybe, maybe, :)
Hey, bot's looking great!
Out of interest, how are you controlling the Gimson actuator? I'm wanting to purchase one for a simple lifter for my first FW.
I was thinking I could use something like a botbitz ESCheap25 because this actuator uses 27A at stall (which I don't think it'd come near) and it'd give fairly precise control.
Thanks, Dan
Thanks very much, I will be using these http://www.robotpower.com/products/wasp_info.html
Yeah, I asked Ewan Gimson what he would recommend to control one of his GLA-S actuators and he recommended that too. Did he also recommend it to you? xD
I'll probably go ahead and try grab myself one of those too. Did you consider anything else, because as far as I'm aware, the wasp is just a simple on/off switch, whereas an ESC (like a botbitz ESCheap85) would offer more control?
i think the wasp is an esc (?)
i just use a 15a electronize, seems to work okay.
The wasp has the ability to add limit switches, otherwise my actuator try's ripping itself to bits :) it still has lots of control. as you want the actuator to run flat out when moving rather than comtrolling it's speed.
I have not posted here for a bit, I've been distracted by evolving my design, and building it :D . The same ideas of interchangeable weapons. After watching the likes of 720, NST i think this new version should be more up to the mark strength wise.
I am at the moment sourcing a Spektrum radio set, then we should have some test videos.
Looks cool Gabe! what are those wedges from? decrative fence posts? or did you roll them your self?
The wedges are from a piece of farm equipment, They're heavy duty! lets hope they can stand up to some heavy hits!
