What Progress
Finally bought some stuff:
Motors, Mounts & Wheels ordered.
Electronize FR15HX Speed Controller ordered.
12v SLA Battery & LEDs ordered.
nice
SLA's are a bit dated for feathers you know, bit on the heavy side. Also, did you make sure to order 2 of those electronize and not just one?
yeah get yourself some nimhs, much lighter
Yeah, I did order two.
Harry, I'll consider getting NiMhs, I found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-3700mA...item3353ee4e1a
But for now I'll stick with the SLA, it can go quite long without a recharge.
It has also arrived, as have the LED's:

Sorry to hijack, but what charger do you use, and what's the average price for such a charger?Quote:

Motors, mounts and wheels fixed together, and have a 20oz main tank on the way!
Completely redesigned Metalbeak in DT today for easy building, space, and a wider weapon:

The B¼rkert is from Hannibalito, and is not part of the pneumatics system.
Looks good Jarvis
Only thing I would comment on is that I would prefer you not to use that paint scheme, as it is very similar to that of our robots and I can see it being quite confusing for the crowd.
Haha, it looks like you have just designed the Flipper part of Explosion! Do away with all the other crap!
OK then, it had crossed my mind people might get them confused, so is this better?
[attachment=0:14xzot6s]Picturelol.png[/attachment:14xzot6s]
It's still black and yellow, but different to Explosion.
From a distance it looks the same
looking good BTW
looks pretty, what are the dimensions? one thing i would suggest is to get the sides slanted and maybe make it shorter if possible. what is the big silver lump attached to the buffer tank? by the way, you should totally get the ram and buffer done in ferrari red!
What I'm trying to point out is that a lot of teams have a colour scheme:
Tilly: Orange + Black
Toon: Black + White
Bud: Black + Silver
Us: Yellow + Black
These area way of identifying robots and their teams, and it your team would probably stand out better with a different one.
You're aspiring to dullness? Seriously?
Large flipper like that you should be able to get a fantastic paint job. Humongous Clip art on it - like, say for example that Biohazard sign on your avatar. Come on fame effect going right up the wedge of your machine - go nuts.
Chevrons :lame:. Such a clich.
Umm... no dimensions yet; waiting until I have everything to start on that, and the lump is the ali blok connector.Quote:

i think that is a much better design jarvis, and the painjob will look brilliant. what are you going to make the sides out of, 10mm hdpe?
Going to go for 12mm actually, just to be safe. 12mm armour, 6mm base, all black, with a steel flipper.
nice, i use 12mm, its good stuff
much better! go for a 8mm thick plus hdpe base (i'm using 10mm) as that ram will give a hell of a kick
Thanks for that Jarvis, and I think you have made quite a good scheme there :D
i liked your first design :DQuote:
