The New and Improved Team Corsair RPG
As we all know, there are numerous RPG universes. And as we also know, at one time there were rifts connecting these universes. Since the first Oddestsey wasn't finished, we have to make some assumptions for this RPG to work:
Assumption 1: Professor Vengeance managed to close all but one rift.
Assumption 2: Professor Vengeance teamed up with Lord Doomforall and took control of several universes, using the rift as an inter-dimensional portal.
Assumption 3: Half of these RPGs never finished...
Assumption 4: This takes place in a different universe.
Now due to the assumptions made above, I've decided to make this RPG. You don't have to enter if you don't want to, but well, do you really want only 1 RPG going on(No offence to Lian)?
Anyways: Here's what I want in a character:
Name (Anything, but please: No swearing in the name)
General Appearance (Explain what they look like, and whether they're elves, vampires, robots, humans, etc)
Stats: (The things that actually matter :P , you get 40 points to divide how you want)
Strength: (How strong your character is, how much they can carry, how much damage they can do with melee weapons)
Knowledge/Intelligence: (Put it as a ratio this way: Knowledge:Intelligence. A higher knowledge value means you know a lot, while a higher intelligence value means you can learn easily)
Speed: (Determines how fast you can go, a slower speed will make it harder to retreat or run away from a battle)
Agility: (How maneuverable you are. The higher your agility, the more chance you have of dodging an attack. Plus it increases your accuracy with guns, bows, etc.)
Weapons: (You get 1 melee weapon and 1 ranged weapon, please choose a weapon from 1500AD earlier. Melee weapons include swords, daggers, knives, etc, while ranged weapons include bows, crossbows, guns, lasers, and rocket launchers)
Clothes: (Choose wisely. Certain clothes can give you bonuses and tougher defence.
Strengths: (Essentially the strengths of your character)
Weaknesses: (The weaknesses of your character)
And that's pretty much it. Except for the storyline...
As we know(due to the assumptions), Steve and Alex decided to team up and rule the universes. However, unexpectedly, both of them die approximately 100 years after they conquer all the universes. Since there is still 1 rift open, the residents of various different universes are fighting to control the rift. They realize that if they control the rift, they will have a striking point to attack and take over other universes. An alien species called the Knemnians achieved this feat, only to be conquered 2 years later by the Trocasians(Hey, I'm just randomly making these up).
Meanwhile, a Hub World(Not the one where the original Oddestsey took place, but very similar) is rather worse for wear at the moment. The water is filled with ships, some fighting, some burning, and some sinking. The beaches are strewn with bloodied pieces of equipment(Due to the Trocasians creating a device on all planets that instantly disintegrates dead bodies into dust), as the hills are racked with gunfire. Now, a group of citizens(the entrants) of various universes must conquer the Hub World and close the rift, ending the inter-dimensional war.
All I need are 4, maybe 5 entrants, and that's it. Come on, guys! This will not end up with me controlling everything, or with this not being finished.

General Appearance: tall and fit wearing a khaki jacket with the sleeves cut off, also wearing khaki trousers and black hiking boots, he also has a khaki backback always wears sunglasses due to a rare medical condition called anaridea (yes i have it) just means he€™s sensitive to light. Its a mix between me and a certain Arnie :P hes human, but full of robotic parts, for example his eye is robotic and can see through anything, he can also has night-vision and heat

Weapons: a small dagger that he hides in a secret compartment in his right boot , and a rocket launcher that fires...rockets :P but has a toggle switch that can change between rapid fire and single fire modes, if no rocket is inserted it fires flames :)
Clothes: same as in general appearance but has a baseball cap in his rucksack (khaki again :P). Under his khaki uniform he has a layer of inpenatrable body-armor.
Strengths: packs heavy artilary
Weaknesses: not the brightest

hey Mark, I have some questions about your RPG before I may enter
how does The Oddeststey enter into this? you refer to it several times but it seems to be of no relevance whatsoever, you say its set in a different universe, and that it has a different hub world, to me it seems to have nothing at all in common with The Oddeststey, so I think you can better leave it out if this altogether to avoid confusion
you say you dont want to control everything, yet you've already controlled characters that belong to Steve and Alex? why not create your own characters, they could easily fullfill the role of Doomforall and Vengeance without using someone else's character and thereby making their freedom within this RPG smaller, what if Steve and Alex decide to enter? their roles seem to be laid out for them already by you

The reason the Oddestsey is at least partially relevant is because, since it wasn't finished, I have to make assumptions, and therefore I can guess, without anyone scolding me, what happened after the last post of Alex's in the thread. In this case, it was that Professor Vengeance and Lord Doomforall teamed up and closed all but one of the rifts, which Steve and Alex used as a portal to take over all known universes. Then(to make it to where they can enter if they want), they disappeared, while the one open rift was used by the Knemnians to conquer all the universes. They kept their power for 2 years, until the Trocasians defeated them and took over all the universes. Now, on this Hub World, you can gain access to the rift and gain access to other universes. If the rift leading to and from the Hub World is closed, then access to other universes via the rift will be closed as well.
Therefore, unless I reference the Oddestsey, how can I properly work the one rift, multiple universes, and the Hub World into the storyline? By saying that the rift is one of Frank Goacher's plot holes gone wild? No one will believe that...
I would create my own characters to fill their spots, but I can't create one or two people evil enough to do that. I'm too much on the good side to do it, per se. Also, I modified the above story to where, since Steve & Alex only disappeared, if they enter, I can work it into the storyline without much difficulty.

...what gives you the need to even use the storyline from the Oddestsey, or indeed link the Oddestsey into this or have anything to do with it at all? I'd have thought it would have been much easier to create your own story along the same lines rather than work on something you weren't involved in - as Marti says it does leave Alex with quite a quandrary if he decides to enter.

hang on hang on hang on Mark, I really cant follow this, what is the link between this RPG and the Oddeststey at all? this isnt a sequel to the Oddeststey isnt it?
its just an RPG about a world in which multiple universes excist, a past event created rifts between them, 2 evil beings closed all but 1 rift and used the remaining one to take over universes, and they were killed. The above sentence pretty much sums up this RPG without mentioning The Oddeststey or Doomforall or Vengeance, right? or is there vital information thats lost by leaving them out? if so, please explain it to me so I can adjust my character accordingly

I guess you just summed the whole thing up back there, so the Oddestsey will not be mentioned, nor will any of the characters.
The revised storyline:
As we know there are various universes, however in one hub universe on a hub world there were several inter-dimensional rifts, as they were called, created due to someone developing an interuniversal generator. The device incinerated itself during its only use, but it created the rifts. A party of brave adventurers managed to close all but one of the rifts, at which point 2 of the smartest people of all the universes joined up and used the remaining rift to access connections to the other universes. Out of the population of that world, the other planets in that universe were conquered. Soon, the populace of that universe developed rift ships that were used to travel from one universe to the next. The 2 smartest people in all the universes used this army to gain control of the whole universe.
At this point, it appeared that the 2 universal conquerors suddenly dropped out of all the universes, thereby creating a universal power vacuum. The power vacuum was filled when the Knemnians rediscovered the rift and used it to conquer all the universes. They retained control, until the Trocasians also discovered the rift, and used it to overthrow the Knemnians. Now, the inhabitants of the various universes have banded together into groups to protect themselves from the Trocasian invasion, and it is on one of the hub worlds that this story takes place.
The objective for this group is to close the rift on the hub world. With it closed, due to it being the only way to travel from universe to universe, and that rift being the only remaining one, its closure will seal access to the rift and prevent another being, species, or beings to conquer the universes again.
Also, I guess there's no way I can keep the mentioning of the Oddestsey, as I can only mention it if either Steve or Alex enters(which there is no chance I know of of that happening)

am I right in thinking a hub world is a world thats connected to the rift, or is it something else?
btw, can you explain the intelligence/knowledge stat a bit more, do I have to give 2 numbers?
and do both weapons need to be pre-1500, if so, why the example of lasers and rocket launchers?

From what I could tell, a Hub World serves 2 purposes:
1: Many miscellaneous items such as Pistols, Jackets, Lizards, Rocks, etc. land on the Hub World, so it is essentially the universal garbage bin, although most items that appear there are in at least partial working condition.
2: The Hub World connects other universes to each other. The 2 smartest people in the universe developed a device allowing you to choose which universe you want to go to. They placed 1 of these devices on every planet in every universe. Using the device on another planet will take you from that universe to this Hub World to the universe you want to go to. However, the Universal Transporter System, as I call it, has been shut down following the Trocasian's invasion.

With intelligence/knowledge, you put in 2 numbers. Depending on which is higher, you'll either know more, or learn faster.
Rocket Launchers and Lasers are there only to give examples of ranged weapons. And from this point onward, the pre-1500s rule is dropped.

General Appearance: balding in a huge area around the scalp, semi-long gray hair where there still is hair, always looks annoyed but that€™s because of his old age and facial lines than anything else (ok, he€™s kinda grumpy, but not always). Wears small glasses and an otolaryngologist's mirror on his head. White coat under that, and black leather boots under that, and wears pink gloves. Talks with a German accent and has a medical background, although he has lots of basic knowledge in many fields.

General : A rather fearsome looking bearded man with an afro. Wears a black shirt, shoes, trousers, leather gloves, sunglasses, trench coat and a blood red tie. Trusts few people.

Weapons: For ranged fighting a pair of Beretta 92FS pistols straight out of Equilibrium :Drools: and for Close quarters a reasonably light double edged, reasonably narrow bladed, hand and a half sword (can be used with one hand in a duel like situation, or with two for powerful attacks)
Clothes: On top of the shirt trousers etc he wears a long, black trench coat which has pockets for weapons and munitions when he collects them. The coat is bullet proof to protect him from attack. The final thing about the coat is that up the sleves it has a pair of spring loaded slide rails that weapons can be mounted on to bring them into play quickly if needed.
Strengths: Will eventually become a weapons cache and pretty useful in combat
Weaknesses: Not very knowledgeable but should learn quickly enough.

The war between the Trocasians and the resistance has gone on for a full year. Hundreds of bloody and well-worn uniforms complete with ammo and weapon lie on the beach, as if someone had been killed and suddenly disappeared from their uniform. On the beach of this hub world, 4 figures: A man with an afro, a doctor, a T-800, and a soldier of some sort appear suddenly. Though they don't know each other, they have enough common sense to tell each other to hit the deck. It's D-Day all over again, except this time the Allies are outnumbered. The tide turns as Jack launches a rocket into a nearby bunker, destroying it and shattering it into small pieces, disintegrating the soldiers inside. For good measure, Indigo fires his SMG into the wreckage, leaving spent bullet-casings on the beach. It is only after they realize that the shots aimed at them have stopped do they get up and introduce themselves to one another.
Suddenly, all of them realize that they are missing from where they were. Indigo was fighting off a drug lord, Jack was trying to find an assassin, Wolfgang was preforming surgery, and Jordan was sitting back watching television from his home. Suddenly, an unusual thought coarsed through their head, that they must find a rift and close it, and that they would meet at least 1 person who could help them. They also notice several uniforms and weapons, and a pile of seemingly useless junk. In that pile and in the uniforms, there were several items:
A chainsaw (Weight: 7, Speed: Fast, Damage: 30-35)
A silver ring (Weight: 1)
A Trocasian uniform (Weight: 2, Defence: 5)
A roll of duct tape (Weight: 1)
A working radio that has a recording of Tom Roper's Aussie Linguistics (Weight: 3)

A foe-checking Magic 8 Ball (Weight: 3, gives you stats of foes)
A crossbow (Weight: 5, Speed: Slow, Damage: 20-30)
An inter-dimensional newspaper (Weight: 1)
An interesting Cane with a jeweled Emerald on top (Weight: 3)
An un-inflated raft (Weight: 7)
A metal top hat (Weight: 4, Defence: 3)
An AK-47 with 120 bullets (Weight: 6, Speed: Very Fast, Damage: 35-40)
A wind-up lightsabre (Weight: 3, Speed: Fast, Damage: Unknown)
A box containing 10 MKIIA1 Fragmentation Grenades (Weight: 5)
A custom-made Resistance uniform (Weight: 3, Defence: 7)
A SPAS-12 Shotgun with 40 rounds (Weight: 4, Speed: Medium, Damage: 40-50)
Also, there are several resistance ships harboured at a nearby town. You can see them in the harbor. I would suggest you go to the town, as more Trocasians will be on their way. What you can do is:
Pick up some of the items and choose another option
Go to the town
Signal for a Resistance ship
Go to the nearest Resistance recruiting office
Attack the Trocasians
Use the foe-checker to scan the items
Something Else (You decide what to do)

How is it decided again how many we can carry along? anyway, I spot a Trocasian uniform and find that awefully interesting. It gives us the possibility to maybe spy on the Trocasians during a later stage, he has the IQ to play his part real well, with his IQ he is the most efficient gatherer of information on the team, and the uniform gives some much needed armour. So I take the uniform with me (dont wear it yet), and propose the team goes to the town to quietly discuss our new task.

Well I can take all of the weapons and ammo and put them in my coat, also I would like to put my sword in there and the loaded Beretta's on the spring loaded rails so they weigh less (technically in coat) but can be bought out quickly for fights.
I'm up for going into town, we might meet someone.

I'm still waiting for what Jack and Lian want to do, but if either one of them wants to go to the town, then, since its the majority vote, I'll write it down, though I might wait for the other to post what items he wants.
EDIT: Also, who gets what items comes on a first come, first serve basis. Also, the wind-up lightsabre has a damage potential of 10-60.

Im mostly voting for the go to town option because simply we just got this new task, and we're better off just going to a relatively quiet place talking our plans through than rushing into action straight away, we may be able to get ourselves a makeshift base of operations in the town, and we can store all this stuff there, so its at our disposal
As Wolfgang Passions Im most certainly personally interested in the Trocasian uniform for the reasons I mentioned earlier. The inter-dimensional newspaper is very handy for information gathering... I doubt the 4 of us have much expertise in the inter-dimensional

The chainsaw is a powerful Petrol one with 1.5L of petrol storage and a Jian Minis engine that gives out 40hp.
The silver ring allows the user to be invisible. To use it, just tap the diamond.
The Trocasian Uniform is made of Carbon Fibre, Kevlar, and magnesium chainmail.
The duct tape is excellent for fixing combat robots, and various other items.

The silver coins are the inter-dimensional form of currency.
I, the foe-checking Magic 8-ball, can be shook, then looked at to reveal the stats of enemies and other creatures.
The crossbow comes with gold finishing and 20 reusable crossbow bolts.
The Inter-Dimensional Newspaper is called Inter-dimensional News, and was printed yesterday. It appears to automatically update itself with the latest news.
The cane with a jeweled emerald was used in the filming of the movie Professor Vengeance: My Story of Interdimensional Domination. It was not used in the movie, but was a reserve cane, largely visible via the blue emerald on top instead of the green one.
The un-inflated raft has the words Q een M ry on it.
The metal top hat is made of thick aluminum, and is quite light.
The AK-47 is the most awesome gun ever made.
The wind-up lightsabre is energy efficient. 1 full wind produces a minute of use time.
The MKIIA1 Frag Grenades have been on the beach for 50 years, but are still in good condition. They use EC Blank Fire Powder and an igniting fuse of 4 - 5 seconds.
The resistance uniform is made from various sewn-together pieces of Kevlar and Carbon fibre. There are some pieces of 2mm unobtanium for extra protection.
The SPAS-12 is illegal in most universes, due to it being the best shotgun ever made.

Anyhow, what shall we do? The 4 of us are members of the resistance right (correct me if Im wrong)? We must find a rift and close it, information is what we need right now... and a hideout. I would like to go into the tavern, explain the man in charge what we're doing, ask him if he has some backroom we can use, and put our big pile of stuff there, the tavern is a safe place if its Resistance Only, and the man should understand, and support, our mission. Like I said we want information and as everybody in the tavern must be trustworthy, lets talk to them. Also talk to the people at the recruitment office and the airport, as they are resistance establishments too, lets gather information before deciding what actions should be taken.

No. This Wedge 1 is an invertible titanium wedge with a saw at the back.
Anyone from another universe is part of the Resistance, except for Trocasians unless they officially join the Resistance. Most Trocasians are used as spies.
The Bartender in the tavern replies: Yeah, we have an empty back room. You can store your stuff there, but be careful. There are other resistance members back there, and they have an array of weapons, so make sure you don't touch their stuff.
I don't know much about the rifts, aside from the fact that since the Resistance started, they've reactivated the rift transportation system to send troops back over here. Just last month we sent a group of 100 of our best troops to close the rift. They never came back unfortunately...
If you want, I can hook you up with some of our Elite troops. We've been looking for inter-dimensional people like you and your friends to assist our Elite troops. We're planning a new assault on the rift, so maybe you'd be willing to help us.
The Sergeant at the Recruiting Office replies: Well, the rifts are used to connect all known universes. There were originally 7 dominators of the universes, one of which controlled more then the others. Another dominator came and teamed with the major one. They were once enemies, but teamed up to control the universe. That's how the Resistance started.
Afterwards, we teamed with the Knemnians to help them gain control over the rift, and therefore, the universes. They treated us well, and even made us their official military. However once the Trocasians took over, we became the Resistance once again, and prepared to wage war for control of our planets. With the Trocasians' control over the rift, we haven't heard from our other forces, and must assume the worse...
The Squadron Leader at the Airport replies: I command one of the segments of our Air Force. Whatever flying vehicles appear here, we use them. We even have one for sale in the Pawn Shop. Our squadrons consist of some of the best pilots in the known universes, but our planes are some of the weakest. Therein lies our major problem.
However, things have changed with both the capture of Trocasian shield systems, which we have reverse-engineered and used in all our fighters for 2 years, and the acquisition of an ancient prototype shield that is 10 times tougher then anything the Trocasians have. Unfortunately, the site is on the front lines, and any man we send to get the shield is killed. If you and your group are willing to help us get the shield, we're willing to give you some special fighter planes and a large reward...

Team? Shall we take this quest? We have a backroom full of items at our disposal, and a bunch of items we can buy, so lets see how we can best do this, brute force or cunningness? We could use the ring and sent 1 invisible team member out to scout the site and tell us what the best way is to get the item, and how heavily guarded it is... if this invisible person discovers he can easily just... grab it while invisible, go for it!

I agree that the cautious approach could pay dividends here, we could even send two people in at night (one with ring and other with stealth uniform so they're both invisible) to help each other out if theres any trouble.
For that plan Jack would almost definately have to go due to his night vision.

Im wondering what happens if one of Indigo Mattheus' clones dies? will the original regain his strentgh or will he stay weakened because with each clone the individual parts get weaker... we can send a clone along with Jack because, weaker or not, we only need him to have a look and come back with information
how about we pay 7.5 coins each to invest in the camouflage jacket, send out Jack and a clone, one wearing the ring and the other wearing the jacket, at night, let them have a look and come back to tell us what the best strategy is?

If the clone dies, the individual will regain his strength over a long period of time.
