I know I said a long break :proud:
But we need something to keep the forum going! The bad news is, there are only four spots in this series of the FRFFT
I need four people to enter one heavyweight each. It must weight between 50-100kg as normal. Walking robots get a weight advantage of double. No flying robots, and so forth. Normal RW rules apply.
This is to make up for the cancellation of the world championships. Also, please pick a country to represent here if you can

Blue Hurricane
Weight: 100kg
Shape: Disc
Dimensions: 88 X 88 X 27
Colour: Royal Blue for the sides, and a nice shade of midnight blue for the top and bottom.
Power: 2 X LEM-130's @ 36v, with a couple of NiCad Batteries.
Wheels: Two Aluminium Wheels with a nice layer of Asmaprene Urethane on it.
Armour: 3.25mm Hardox for top and bottom, and 11mm Grade 5 Titanium for the sides.
Top Speed: 13mph
Ground Clearence: 5mm Everywhere.
Turning Circle: Zero! Need I say more?!
Weapon: Ok, the weapon is a nasty 32kg spinning rim, which is made out of 11mm Grade 5 Titanium, with 4 X Tungsten-tipped teeth. (2 teeth on bottom, and 2 on top) The teeth are all made out of hardox, and also curved to rip off skirts and panels with ease. It also runs on a single LEM-130 Lynch, and spins at about 2000RPM. This can rip through titanium and dent hardox quite easily. Heavily Shock-Proofed, as well.
Srimech: Invertible
Strengths: Can cause a lot of damage
Weaknesses: Not the best pushing power by a long shot

Let's have Bandwagon, representing the USA, shall we?
Bandwagon (Active)
Weight: 100kg
Shape: A quite complex box-wedge. The box shape itself is angled 10 degrees towards the wedge, which itself is angled at 45 degrees. The entire shape's edges are rounded to protect against spinners, while the back is rounded to prevent stranding.
Colour: Chrome. The flipper is red, while the skirts are blue.
Dimensions: 100cm x 80cm x 30cm
Drive: 4x 24v S28-400 Magmotors, powered by 7x A123 Battlepacks, giving me an average of about 18hp.
Locomotion: 4 solid rubber wheels with Aluminum Boron Carbide hubs.
Armour: 5.5mm Titanium/Vanadium alloy, with 7.5mm of Vulkanized rubber on top to prevent axes from doing damage. If need be, the rubber can be removed and placed under the titanium for shock absorption.
Speed: 20mph
Ground Clearance: 0mm at front due to shape, 0mm at sides and back due to 5mm titanium torsion-sprung skirts. 5mm without skirts.
Turning Circle: 0m
Weapons: A powerful rear-hinged flipper, powered by a 1000pi 2.5kg nitrogen tank, and utilizing 2 70mm bore 300mm stroke rams to power the flipper. The flipper can flip up to 500kg about half a meter into the air.
Srimech: The flipper.
Strengths: Jumping on the bandwagon.
Weaknesses: It can only flip, push, and move at 20mph. Not much else.
Bio: Bandwagon was a robot with a design partially based on the very successful Alex Holt vapour Achilles. After seeing Kody Kunz and his robot Seung Mina V, I realized I also needed an Achilles-type robot.

Name: Infusion
Motivation: 4 x 125mm wheels
Speed: 0-12MPH [25MPH under Kinetic Boost]
Clearance: 7.5mm (same inverted) 0mm at the front, the wedge scraps the floor.
Weight: 100kg
Height: 125mm
Length: 800mm
Width: 600mm
Weapon: The weapon is a 28kg Hardox spinning ring (Ala MDU) powered by 2 x D-Pack motors @ 24v (Same motors used in Shredderator). The rim rotates at 2500rpm and should spin up within 1-2 seconds. The weapon is also a storage device for the drive. The spinning rim is connected to each side of the drive via a car air conditioner clutch, when the clutches are engaged, the 31kg kinetic storage bank(the spinning rim) transfers its energy into the drive train, giving it approximately double torque and speed for 2-3 seconds until the rim starts too loose speed and energy. This extra €˜kinetic€™ boost is used to ram into opponents with the front 6mm thick Hardox 500 wedge (similar to the one on Warrior SKF but wider and less depth to it). The front wedge is rubber shock mounted to ensure it survives the biggest of hits.
Drive: 2 x S28-400 Magmotors on 24v geared 4.8:1. The drive is also assisted via the spinning rim as explain above.
Batteries: 12 x 8 A123 cell packs. 26.4V @ 27.6Amp/hour
Armour: Front wedge is made entirely out of 6mm Hardox 500, the top and bottom of the robot is made out of 4mm Hardox 500, The ring is made out of 10mm Hardox 500 with inner bracing to the perimeter bearing. Inner bulk heads are made from 10mm/20mm aluminium. All internals are mounted on soft urethane mounts for shock protection.
Notes: Invertible, speed when needed and generally well controlled for a spinner. Ram or Spin, Infusion aims to win!

Shape: Dantomkia, but with the front spikes hinged
Weight: 100kg
Length: 65cm
Width: 70cm
Height: 15cm
Motivation: 2 x HDPE internal wheels, 125mm in diameter and sloped like Tazbot for more manouevrability.
Drive: 2 x LEM-130 lynch motors run @ 48v from 6 x 3600mAh NiCad battlepacks
Armour: 3.75mm hardox monocoque
Weaponry: The main weapon is the front hinged flipper, powered by a 120mm x 100mm bore stroke ram @ 145psi from a 1.5kg co2 bottle, giving 15-20 flips per round due to the low pressure. It is capable of pushing robots OOTA of it gets the chance, but is better at turning robots over and than throwing them. Also there is a strip of Mute-style barbs running up the flipper to get robots stuck on it. And finally on either front spike there is a tungsten spike pointing sideways, so when the robot spins it can act as a thwackbot.
Speed: 17mph average
Turning Circle: 0
Ground Clearance: 0 at front and effectively the same at sides and rear due to 7mm skirts torsion-sprung and made of grade 2 titanium, but behind the skirts is 6mm at the sides and 15mm at the rear.
Srimech: The flipper can right the robot quickly, easily and repeatedly if need be
Colour: Black bodywork, with red skirts and a gold flipper.
Strengths: Very durable, well-armoured, good pushing power
Weaknesses: Flipper isn€™t very powerful, no real damaging weaponry
Notes: This new version of Brutalis ditches the full pressure flipper and heaps of gas from the old one for thicker armour and slightly more powerful drive. The strategy is to push and bully robots around the arena with the pushing power and the flipper, rolling and tossing them around and into the pit or even out of the arena. If it can€™t manage either of those then it will be aiming for dominance in order to swing a judge€™s decision, and due to the tough armour it won€™t be too down in the damage department despite lacking any real damaging weaponry.

my entry will be s.o.i.d which stands for (Scottish oh! im dizzy!) its basically o.i.d (stats on zed) but just painted with the Scottish flag, a mini kilt round the outside and a small tuft of orange hair on the back :P this doesn't effect the overall standard of the robot, just makes it look cool :P

It's up to you ELLIOT, they're very different ideas so treat them as you wish :proud:
Tactics: Go for the Bandwagon or for Brutalis first, depending whicever one lets its guard down first. Pick said robot up with the forks, lifting its wheels off the ground, clamp it with the crusher, and take it to either the pit or Tira VI's disc. Whichever's nearest.
Avoid Tira VI's disc, as the resulting explosion of robot parts could prove disadvantageous.

Bandwagon VS Nidhogg Cubed VS Tira VI VS Brutalis 2.1
Muahahahaha!!! A chance for revenge against the crazed Soul Calibur babe for what she did to me in Robot SMASH!!! Series 1. For this fight, I'll remove the rubber from the top of the Ti/Vanadium alloy, and place it underneath for shockproofing.
I'll ironically ask to team up with Liam, as I believe he has the best machine out there(besides my Achilles clone) even though he was the one who knocked me out the previous time in Robot SMASH!!!(his tourney).
I feel I should press the pit release button, While Liam flips Nidhogg Cubed OOTA. If he can't, we'll still be able to shove Nidhogg down the pit, due to it self-righting slowly. Plus, he didn't say that there was a pressurized gas tank(Needed to allow fuel to keep flowing even when the engine is inverted), therefore his engine should stall and stop working when we flip him.
As for Tira, charge the disc. I should get under and flip her, and it should be a couple of moments for her to self-right. Afterward, consistently keep getting around to the sides and flip her. Her srimech has about 15 flips, and it's unlikely that the last 3 will self-right her. As for me, I will try to conserve my flips, and I shouldn't need to use them to self-right, since only Brutalis could flip me over.
I do have Nitrogen, so that might be a bit of a problem seeing as the pressure decreases over consistent flips, but that'll be a problem remedied on Bandwagon 2.
Anyways, once she's stuck upside down, try to shove her either into or as close to the pit as possible. Pitting Tira is the only way she'll be out, as I feel her odd shape might cause her to get hung up on the wall should me and Liam try to flip her OOTA.
As for what Liam should do after we dispose of Nidhogg Cubed: If he wants to flip Tira, save some of my gas, and cause her to waste more of her gas, that would nice and helpful.
This has been Mark Elam's extremely well researched and well thought out tactics.

I think I shall go for Brutalis first. The Hardox armour of his can prove withstanding but due to the small dimensions it can easily be knocked about, and Tira's 'wings' can keep him in check. Can self-right properly now for the worst scenario too. :proud: Aim for a pitting or immobilization. After that I shall do the same with Mark's pile of scrap. It'd actually be quite good if Mark wasn't an arse about it. :P As an insult however I'll just keep knocking it onto its back and let it self-right just to knock it back over and waste his flipper power, and probably causing internal damage at the same time. Nidhogg poses quite a bit of a threat in a melee, but if he's going to attack the other two that's quite fine by me. Team-up perhaps, old fellow?
For the other match I see Back to Rock and Infusion coming through quite nicely.

Alright... Tactics against Nidhogg Cubed are the same.
Tactics against Tira: Now instead of immediately rushing in and stopping the disc, I think I'll move around to the sides and keep flipping her from there. I'll still try to pit her(Kody, good job on making a machine that's very difficult to flip OOTA), But I really want to keep getting her upside down. While I haven't counted how many flips my flipper has, I'm positive that I can flip her over more times then she can self-right.
Once she's immobilized(due to running out of gas and not being able to self-right), add extra insult-to-injury by pushing Tira into the pit. Then run towards the middle of the arena and spin in a clockwise direction.

I'll go for Bandwagon now first and foremost, unless Brutalis is in such a position (like about to attack me or side on, or otherwise exposed) that attacking it would prove more worthwile. Kill Bandwagon by clamping it and either pitting it or thrusting it into Tira's disc before it can get a chance to attack Tira properly, and then see what Brutalis's doing and have a go at that if needed.
Mark, you do realise you're being a teeny weeny bit of a smeghead here? It's like when you'd tell writers: Remember, I have an anti flipping device that never previously existed, and also remember I have super driving skills so nobody can get under me, and remember I shall now use the statement 'hard to beat' in a vague manner to achieve a result of thing

Okay: The 100% finalized Mark Elam Tactics:
Go for Nidhogg Cubed, and get around to the side. Flip it, then wait for it to stall due to it not having a pressurized gas tank. If it rolls over, flip it and pin it against the wall ala Firestorm II vs The Morgue. Since it doesn't have a pressurized gas tank, it should stall before it self-rights. Also shove it into the house robots, as that 3mm Ti/Vanadium alloy shouldn't survive a house robot attack.
As for what happens after N³ gets immobilized: Team up with Liam on Tira and cause its unique body shape to Catch on the arena walls, immobilizing it. And if I get a chance: Pit it, or shove it into the house robots.

Um... avoid big spinny or crushy things, flip Bandwagon into big spinny or crushy things, then try (most probably in vain :P) to push/flip big spinny or crushy things into the CPZs or the pit :D

Okay. I know those above are supposed to be my tactics, but well... Everyone hates me and is trying to get me(except Tira), so...
Run in and break the torsion spring on the rear skirt of Brutalis 2.1. Then, flip it out of the arena. Try to conserve flips, as once I have Brutalis out, only Nidhogg Cubed can try and get me OOTA. Then, get around Nidhogg and shove it into the CPZ. get underneath the sides, and try to flip it into Tira's spinning disc. That 3mm ti/vanadium alloy will be mangled badly. Afterwards, flip Nidhogg OOTA, and if I can't, try to hit the pit release button and shove him down. Since the shapes of the forks are a hybrid between Haardvark's and PA's, it should give me ample time to drive backwards and get away. Do not go after Tira unless it comes after me. When Nodhogg is inverted, try to shove him onto either the flames(it should burn his Petrol Engine), or the angle grinders(should cut the weak ti/van).
Now, If nobody else tries to attack me first, I'll be fine.

Welcome to a new series of FRFFT!
We've made some changes for Series Three. After two series with the heavyweights sharing the arena with other weights, they'll be on their own today. Also, the house robots will be around as well, headed up by Refbot.
Lets start with round one!
ROUND ONE
From Vancouver, in Canada, Blue Hurricane!
A circular shaped robot with a spinning shell. Its a new robot, and can run upside down as well. Its hard to grab hold of, but someone could be lucky enough and when that happens, flippers can have their chance.
From Queensland, in Australia, Infusion!
An odd shape robot with a spinning ring, and a wedge, Infusion is also a newcomer to FRFFT. Very destructive, and invertible, but when upside down, it could be vulnerable to flippers.
From Scotland, SOID!
The name stands for 'Scotland Oh I'm Dizzy'. It's main weapon is a front spinning disc. Its shaped like a triangle, which should deflect some heavy blows, but the wheels are exposed and it is inexperienced.
From the Netherlands, Back to Rock III!
This robot has two weapons. A lifter to get under its opponents and a spinning disc to rip into them. Its made from aluminum and can reach 18mph, but the self-righting mechanism is slow

In Booth One, we have Samuel with Blue Hurricane and Infusion with Aaron, and in Booth Two, Martijin at the controls of Back to Rock III and Jack with SOID.
The house robots are Matilda and Sgt Bash.

Aaron, I find it hard to picture Infusion. Can you give me an idea of what it looks like?
I'm also thinking about adding another heat with 8 real robots, just to make things more interesting.

3-2-1: Activate!
Off we go for a brand new series! Blue Hurricane looks vicious with that spinning ring. So too Infusion who turns to face Back to Rock and pushes it aside. Back to Rock pushes into SOID, who turns and makes a GASH in the side of Back to Rock with that disc. Blue Hurricane moves in and OH! Back to Rock gets spun away a bit. Infusion is staying out of it, but now SOID charges it and hits the front wedge. Infusion spins around as Blue Hurricane hits Back to Rock again. Back to Rock looking mighty battered, but it is still moving. SOID presses the pit release button...OUCH! Infusion came in there with its spinning ring and made a SLICE down the side of SOID! Back to Rock tries to push Blue Hurricane into the CPZ, where Matilda waits. Blue Hurricane gets away though and spins up again, but straight into Infusion! OH! Blue Hurricane gets a hit too. Aaron turns away, but is Blue Hurricane OK? Yes it is. It isn't spinning, though. Back to Rock gets under it and begins to lift it up as SOID comes in with its disc and makes sparks on the aluminium of Back to Rock! Blue Hurricane pushed over, but it can run inverted. SOID escapes towards the centre of the arena, but meets Infusion again! Spun away, onto the flame pit! Its still going, though. Infusion pushes into the side of Back to Rock and clips it with the disc! Sparks fly, and Back to Rock looks very impaired out there now. I don't think its moving anymore. SOID is moving in a circle. I wonder if Infusion knocked out its drive? Sgt Bash comes out of his CPZ to look at Back to Rock. Refbot moves in to count it out.
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10!
Sgt Bash pushes Back to Rock towards Matilda's flywheel. OHH! The aluminium is ripped again. Blue Hurricane nudges SOID away, but gets hit with the disc. Theres a slight tear in Blue Hurricane's armour. Maybe thats why it stopped spinning. The last ten seconds count down. Infusion is staying out of it as the house robots push Back to Rock onto the floor flipper. And away it goes! Crashing in a heap next to Blue Hurricane.
Cease!
Back to Rock III needs to go back to the drawing board.
The other three were still mobile, so the judges will make their decision.
Blue Hurricane: S: 2 C: 2 D: 2 A: 2 Total: 8
Infusion: S: 2 C: 3 D: 3 A: 2 Total: 10
SOID: S: 1 C: 2 D: 2 A: 2 Total: 7
A controversial way to start the new series, but Infusion and Blue Hurricane go through to the next round. Well done to them!

Not too bad Elliot, but you still kind of overestimate the amount of damage bots can do. Back to Rock III wouldn't exactly get that trashed within 3 hits, even with 7mm titanium armour.
