Robot Arena 2-Roaming Robots AI Pack!

Hey all, i have a game called Robot Arena 2, and im currently making an AI pack for it.
It will be my first AI pack, and the first Roaming Robots AI pack!
I currently have a few replicas, but not enough.
If anyone wants to submit thier robot, then great!
Ill try and upload pictures of my replicas as soon as i know how to bring pictures up.

Its a fairly good flipper in it, but you will know if youve downloaded the pack.
Tell others if thier bot is in it!

It should be a better replica, as my dad is looking for 3D Studio Max ? for me, and with that i can make my own components!
Ill need to make the shell and flipper on Hannabilito.

Pretty much every angle needed. From there you can also find our other robots like Mantis, Obsidian etc.

Ok, i downloaded 3d studio, just got to get used to it, then ill get to work on some reps.

Perhaps, im not sure to be honest.
I might need a kick-start into it, then i might think about it.
Im very busy at the moment, school, You Tube, holiday, RA2, So im very busy.

Luckily i can take a break from it all on Monday-Sunday, Log Cabin Mon-Fri and RR Nottingham Sat then home on Sun.

Well, i havent made any of your robots, John.
The shape and component placing is had to replicate.
Robot Arena 2 is a game by Infogrammes that they made in the style of Battlebots.
Its a game where you can make your own robots, freely.
You can get it from Ebay or Amazon.
I made an AI pack which is basilly an add-on.
If you have the game, or get it, you can download my add-on, so that you can have a play with the robots.
I am still currently working on a new one, in which I will make even better replicas.
Im interested in making Beauty, so is there anyway i can get a picture of the flipper logo?

Im currently working on a new Hydra replica, which should be a MUCH better replica, the blue Hydra.
I cant wait to see BOOM! and what he looks like.
If he looks like a good shape to make, then ill make him instead of Cylon, as he is a bit tricky to make.
I have to ask you though, did you buy SMIDSY from the team who made him?
Anyway, its lucky that you have a big team, all of your robots in Team Cylon!

Anyway, in long queue at the petrol pumps at Tesco.
The holiday has given me some time to think about this new pack.
Im going to do it on DSL, and have any components that i need like a Hydra flipper put as a Hidden:-1 component (so that they dont appear on the component menu)
Anyway, finally got to the pump!

Luke has RA2. We have been tryong to rig up on of the 35MHz controllers to it for which we have a USB lead to see if we can get to driving the robots with the tx on screen. Not had much joy but then again have not had much time to look at it.

BOOM! is to be honest a bit of a practice session with a welder. So its just a box. Dead easy to make in RA2. Cylon is more about getting the geomatry right.

Yes we did get SMIDSY from the guys that built it. Getting a nice makeover but the original body will be on it for the weekend.

Getting the controller to plug into the computer so you can controll your robots on there like you would in real life, SOMEONE CALL DRAGONS DEN!
If i could see the new make-over when i go to the event, then ill make that design instead of the old one.
Will he be fighting?
A plain box should be easy to make, ill take pictures of different angles for the skin.
Have you made any of your robots on RA2?
Ive made Hunter a few times.
Its hard trying to get 4 motors and batteries in a lightweight...
Made the D1 and D4 designs, D being for design.
If your going to the Colchester event next year, hope to have a fight with BOOM! or Cylon, as Hunter should be done by then.

The makeover of SMIDSY will be very much internal and armour. Also well be making some interchangeable plates for the back where the spinner is (As we cant use the spinner we may as well have something else - but leave it so we can put the spinner back on).

If we get round to soldering all the fets and capacitors back onto Hydras old Roboteq the itll be fighting (So thats a no then!!:mrgreen:)

Just had a McDonalds at a service station.
I thought you where going to give SMIDSY a makeover outside, sorry!
You could make a spike plate on the back of SMIDSY, or make a ramplate like they have in RA2 (It wouldnt work anyway!)
Make a plate and weld tons of spikes at the back?
Oh, heres a fairly good idea, make a plate at the back, far away from the disc, then, take the teeth off of the disc (if possible) then make an axle type thing on the disc, attatch a rod to it, cut a slot out of the back plate, make the rod go through the slot, then attatch a spike the back, then, when you fire the disc, it should make a proding spike! (like the weapon on Ruff Ruff Dougle, if you can call it a weapon!) ;-)

Seeeing how Hydra can push stuff around with 4wd and 36V I thought that a sensible addition.

The electronics in Smidsy were an absolute work of art. Wonderful and very well put together. Nowadays you can put most of it on one circuit board though and do away with all the interface expecially using a roboteq with on board mixing and failsafes etc so its all coming out which is a shame.

Ah. That is complicated, that is. You see, I used many different texturing settings in the Rhino program, so Im sorry but the colours are not all one image. :sad:

If you want, I can e-mail you a lot of the different texture maps and you can try and work it out from there, plus I can give you the steps as to how I made them, if you have also have Rhino yourself. :proud:

Well, if you dont mind, i could make a new paint job for your robots, with the name on them, that would be better for us all.
