Ill enter the Red Knight
Stats can be found at

Ill enter the clusterbot known as Back With You
Part 1
Name - Back to Rock III
Shape - See picture, it€™s a box with a scoop at the front and a rounded back. The front is higher than the back and has an €œarc€ like Behemoth had, all for more efficient self-righting.
Weight - 100 Kilogram
Speed - 18mph
Dimensions - 90x84x33 cm
Ground Clearance - 0 underneath the lifter and skirts, 5 mm everywhere else.
Power - 2x LEM130s at 48v
Movement - 6 wheels, about 12 cm diameter
Turning Circel - Zero
Weaponry - A big rear-hinged lifting arm, basically the red part of the picture. It is powered by a single LEM130 at 36 V, which a €œpinion and rack€Â-mechanism. A pinion around the LEM€™s axle moves up a rack that€™s joint to the lifter about halfway its length. The fancy part is that this runs through a gearbox, with 2 gears. One gear is for powerful and controlled lifting and moves up the arm in about 2-3 seconds, another gear is for quick self-righting and moves up the arm in 1 second.
The two plates at the bottom run almost parallel to the ground and are arranged in the way they are (split in the middle, see picture) for the secondary weapon to come into play, a Pussycat-style vertical diamond-edged sawblade, powered by a S28-150 Magmotor at 24 V spinning at 4000 rpm. The blade is part of the lifter and thereby damages the opponent€™s underbelly while lifting it. The sawblade slicing its way INTO (more or less) my opponent will enhance my grip on it and increase my control over my opponent, which is good.
On both sides of the bot is a 7 mm titanium skirt.
Armour - 5 mm titanium at the bottom, 7 mm titanium everywhere else
Srimech - The lifter self-rights the robot when needed
Strenghts - Nice weapon synergy, high traction, can really control an opponent

Part 2
Name - With you
Shape - Invertible box with sloped sides and a front-scoop
Weight - 50 Kilogram
Speed - 18 mph
Dimensions - 60x60x13 cm
Ground Clearance - 5 mm under the main body, 0 mm under the scoop
Power - 4 x Mag S28-400s at 24v
Movement - 4 wheels, sellotaped like Storm 2€™s
Turning Circle - Zero
Weaponry - One damn hard front-scoop
Armour - 3mm Hardox top and sides, 4 mm titanium rear and bottom, 5 mm Hardox front-scoop
Srimech - It€™s invertible

:proud:
Ill enter Drive
Stats:
Drive (SHW)
WEIGHT: 145kgs
DIMENSIONS: 125 x 120 x 9 cm
SHAPE: A very low box, with the sides sloped inwards towards the front so its more of a trapezium shape, with wedged sides and rear. At the front is a 4mm Hardox wedge, which is hinged so it flops over when inverted.
COLOUR: The top half is grey, and the bottom half black.
DRIVE 8 (yes, 8) S28-400 Magmotors running from 12 NiMh packs at 36v, two motors driving each of four 100mm wheels with urethane rubber treads for grip. The wheels are situated at the back and middle of the robot, with castors at the front, which gives it much better maneuvrability.
SPEED: 12mph average, 20mph max
GROUND CLEARANCE: 5mm, except the front which is 0
ARMOUR: 3.25mm Hardox on the top and bottom, with the remainder (front, sides, rear) being a continuous 10mm Ti welded plate, which acts as part of the chassis as well.
WEAPONS: The front has two hardened S7 tool steel spikes at either side of the wedge, these spikes angle slightly downwards to dig into other wedges, and are very sharp. No active weaponry - this is a pure pusher.
SRIMECH: Invertible. The sloped sides prevent it resting there.
NOTES: Very heavily shockproofed, with the top armour, motors, batteries and electronics shock mounted to reduce impacts. Has a pair of very bright white LED headlights at the front, just below the spikes.
STRENGTHS: Good armour, very good pushing power and maneuvrability
WEAKNESSES: No active weaponry
Revolver is ready to fire.
Revolver (SHW)
SHAPE- box wi skirted sides and rear
COLOUR- painted like the infamous Yellow Submarine with portholes on the sides n that, with red hinged skirting and the cover for the album Revolver pasted on the top
WEIGHT- under 145kg, hopefully
DIMENSIONS- 110cm X 75cm X 28cm
SPEED- 18mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- 10mm all over without skirts, 0mm at sides n rear with em
ARMOUR- 6.75mm monocoque Hardox. Booyah.
MOVEMENT- 4 inner wheels and a little caster on top/bottom at the front for balance
POWER- 2 x C40-500 MagMotors, running at 36v (should give about 12hp, I think)
WEAPONS- The main weapon here is a large horizontal spinning disc at the front resembling an LP record. This is powered by an LEM-130 motor at 36v and runs at around 2500rpm. The flywheel bears two Hardox teeth (curved ala Pussycats), making it ideal for ripping into the other contestants. It could also charge at other competitors, get under them with the skirt and become a passive rammer should things start to get hairy.
SRIMECH- invertible
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag
STRENGTHS- powerful disc, fast, manoueverable, pushing power, invertible
WEAKNESSES- wheels exposed to overhead attacks, control could be an issue

you all sriously want to enter?
just need 1 more
Pictures if possible please
Of course we want to enter, otherwise we wouldnt do it.
thabks now whos left, what about Tony Politzi or
Paul Cuomo, but definatley no Timothy!!!!
Ill enter SLAM!, take 4kg off by taking off the side skirts
Stats:
Robot Name: SLAM! 3
Shape: Box wedge, ala Storm II. The front wedge is angled at 42* to deflect spinner attacks
Weight: 154kg
Dimensions: 100 x 75 x 20
Motivation: 4 x internally mounted CNC Aluminium wheels coated with vulkalon rubber for grip
Power: 4 x B42-500s at 60v, providing 120HP!
Armour: 4mm hardox all over
Weaponry:
1)Firestorm-style blade on the wedge to give it 0 GC
2)Pushing Power/ Full Body Hammer
3)Electric lifting arm, hinged at the back of the robot and powered by 2 x Linear Actuators
Top Speed: 28mph, but it will be kept down to 17mph for pushing and only pushed to full for the hammer attack
Ground Clearance: 0 at front due to wedge, effectively 0 at sides and rear due to 5mm titanium skirts
Turning Circle: 0
Srimech: The arm
Colour: Black, with the name painted in white on top
Strengths: Immense pushing power
Weaknesses: No weaponry guaranteed to cause damage
Alex The Red Knight is 5KG too heavy!
And Slam!3 is 4KG too heavy
Anyway here is the draw:
1. Ziggy VS Slam!3
2. Revolver VS Tax Cutter
3. Drive VS Back With You
4. Red Knight VS Puzzel
Tactics please
or maybe TicTacs, Whatever
I did say, remove the skirts :)
I dont know enough about Ziggy to give detailed tactics, but from what Aaron as provided it looks good. I dont know the front ground clearance (help, anyone?), if it is above zero Ill be fine to attack the front, lift it and slam it into the corners. SLAM! is well capable of OOTAs, as it has more than 8 times the power of Storm II. Good luck Aaron :)
My tactic is to simply annoy Drive to hell with my 2 robots. Make sure that pusher never has a clear shot at BOTH robots, ever. Both halves of my clusterbot can get under that GC, but Back to Rock can actually lift it so it will lose control. With You can then hit the pit release button, and the duo can pit it :proud:
gluck mr Joey
and gluck to you too Ben
I thought Liam said to take off the skirts, which would reduce the weight to 150?
Anyway, tactics, predictions, that type of thing:
Ziggy vs. SLAM! 3 - Ziggy will exploit SLAMs inability to run inverted and get it out of the arena.
Revolver vs. Tax Cutter - Tax Cutter will bash Revolvers exposed wheels in before Steve can get him down the pit.
DRIVE vs. Back With You - This depends on what rule is being used for clusterbots:
IF you only have to immobilise one to get the whole robot out: Go for With You. I have three times its weight and four extra motors, which translates to a lot more power and traction. Get it down the pit, and then perhaps mess around with the defeated BTR a bit, shove that in there too.
IF you have to get both out: Go for BTR first, With You shouldnt be of much threat while I take on BTR. Push it into House Robots or pit, and then erase and rewind, recording over by doing the same to With You.
In either case, dont go near the CPZs or the pit unless it is for the purpose of shoving something in. :proud:
Red Knight vs. Puzzel: Puzzel to outwit Red Knight and get it over the fence.
Good luck people :)
Tic-Tocs: Puzzel to charge in, flip the weapon extension of red knight over and flip the whole robot OOTA before the slow linear actators can do their job.
Hopefully Ive bolted on my panels well enough. The armour itself should keep Revolver busy for a while.
Tactics: Wheels. Kill em. :proud:
Shave 2kg off the disc and 3kg off the plate.
Hopefully it should be very tough to get beneath the front plate as the bristles pushed by the weight of the plate should form a decent anti-flipper seal by my reckoning.
Drive after it and let the weapon do its stuff. I have some ideas for an update to Red Knight actually.
Hey Martijn!
With You has 3mm Hardox armour! That doesnt exist!
:proud:
Kody has kindly pointed out to me that 3mm Hardox doesnt exist :proud:
My tactics for Drive now also include going straight for the unprotected sides, maybe try and knock off a chain or a tyre with the front spikes.
It does exist - you take thicker hardox and file it down, just because it doesnt exist conveniantly doesnt mean it doesnt exist.
Well I havent seen anybody use 1mm or 2mm Hardox :P, and I believe I heard from Jonno that you cant have less than 3.25mm Hardox...
Here is the first fight:}
Ziggy VS Slam!3
Our house robots are Growler and Sir Killalot
3-2-1-Activate
Slam!3 charges towards Ziggy and,
CRASH!
both robots hit each other hard, but both are still mobile and undamaged, Slam!3 rushes in for another hit
CRASH!
This time he catches Ziggy by suprise, but no damage ha been, wait look the corner of Ziggys wedge has been buckled, Ziggy heads towards the pit release and opens the pit, meanwhile Slam!3 is preparing for another hit, and has started picking up speed, Ziggy turns round and,
Smash!
Slam!3 get underneath the buckleed corner of Ziggys wedge and lifts him onto his back against the wall but Ziggy fires his flipper and is back on his wheels, both robots now in a stale mate., both trying to get under the other, Slam!3 breaks free and drives off to try and get some momentum, but Ziggy has followed him and has got underneath him at the side and
FLIP!
Slam!3 ends up on his back near the pit and tries to self-right using the arm but he is too near the pit and decides to stay upside down, so Ziggy comes along and finishes him off
Boom!
The pyrotechnics in the pit go off which signals the end for Slam!3
Cease!
A win for Ziggy with just 12 seconds left before the end of the match!
Ziggy goes through to the semi-finals
Slam!3 Doesnt
Next fight: Revolver vs Tax Cutter
Its 3.2mm actually.
How was the fight??
Its not bad, good first attempt. But I let the judgement on the writing up to the other writers.
Here is Fight #2
Revolver VS Tax Cutter
Our House Robots are Mr Physco and Cassius Chrome
3-2-1-Activate!
And Tax Cutter charges over to Revolver who is trying to get his disk up to speed,
Crash!
Tax Cutter has stopped the blade with only a small gash on the front, and that deadly axe is in line with one of revolvers wheels
Crunch!
the axe has missed the wheel and has punctured the body work, Revolver has broken free and the disk is now up to speed and revolver now moves towards Tax Cutter
Crash!
Tax Cutter manouvers out of the way and revolver hits the arena wall, and the disk doesnt seem to be moving, so Tax Cutter comes in and
Smash!
The axe has damaged the wheel of Revolver, who is now limping across the arena, bute the disk is working again, Tax Cutter comes in from behind
Crunch!
The other rear wheel is damaged but the disk
is up to top speed
Smash!
Tax Cutter got to near to the disk and has paid the price, hes been flung a good few metres across the arena, doing a complete roll, but lands on his wheels, a huge gash down the side now
Revolver is not moving and Tax Cutter has suffered the same fate, but who stopped moving first, and the judjes have given it to
Tax Cutter!
Tax cutter goes through
Revolver A Little Help From His Freinds
Next fight: Drive VS Back With You
And the rules say you have to eliminate 1 half of the clusterbot to win!

Quite good for a first try Ben, keep it up:)
Although Revolver wouldnt have even put a gash in Tax Cutters 8mm hardox, however small. And in future people will want to know what criteria/points are given in the decision, head over to Robot SMASH!! Series 2: Recharged now if you want an idea, I just posted a fight with a decision.
well I suppose everyone makes mistakes
How was the first fight?
(Message edited by neontetra23 on July 16, 2008)
Seems good to me, but that fight was waaaaaaaaaaay to short for it to be 12 seconds before the end, it wss more like a 30 second fight or something.
Otherwise good:)
I second Liams sentiments, too short and slightly lacking in detail, but could be worse.
*agrees with the above statements*
Continuation...
Drive vs Back With You
Our house roboots will be Mathilda and Dead Metal
3-2-1 Activate
Drive speeds towards Back To Rock and..
Slam!
The front spikes of Drive are stuck in the scoop of Back To Rock, meanwhile, With You has pressed the pit button, and Back to rock has lifted Drive into the air, and his heading towards the pit, its all over, Drives speed has been his downfall, hes in the pit, what a short battle, 17 seconds
Drive needs to take his driving test again
Back With You go through
of course Im glad I won, but seeing youre a newcomer writer I shall give you some tips to improve further
your first 2 battles were good, alot better than your third one, is it because youre getting tired with this tournament? (a problem seen more often) if so, I strongly advise you NOT to start big tournaments soon (like 16 people, 8 robots). I know some battles can be short, but still, its not smart to take advantage of that too often, you wont learn much from writing battles like this.
Your first 2 battles were pretty nice though, try to write more like that and improve a bit.
Yes, due to lack of interest
