Easter again...Its a good excuse to have a smashing twenty-four robot tourney!
Welcome to the Easter Bunny Tribute Championships here in the RW arena, as seen in RW7.The rules are the usual kind:
Weight- 100 kg wheels
110 kg shuffle/tracks
150 kg walkers
The tournament structure is also pretty simple.If you have seen the newblood tournament in RW extreme 2 theres no need to read the description, as its the same:
4 heats, each has 2 x 3 robot melees with 2 robots advancing to round 2, where there 2 x one-on-one battles.The winners go head-to-head in the heat final, and the four winners will come back for the grand final, where there will be two one-on-one matches with a play-off for third place and the final itself.
I need 6 people each to enter 4 robots.
You can have 2 vapoura and 2 realies, or 3 of one and 1 of the other, but you cant have ALL vapours or All realies.

Name - Its the last thing on my mind
Weight - 100 Kg, aint gone though it with a fine tooth comb because I couldnt be bothered.
Shape - Invertible Box, with rear wedge, plus side bumps
Ground Clearance - Rear end it is zero due to wedge, side skirts can be added to reduce the sides down to zero if need-be, and at the front it is a modest 10mm
Speed - 18 mph, enough to dodge and dive if my primary weapon stalls.
Movement type - 4 Wheel drives the machine, with 2 S28-400 Magmotors at 24 volts providing the power.
Armour - 4mm Hardox.
Weaponry - Rear wedge and front X-axis €œI€ bar spinner, powered by another S28-400 Magmotor, designed to flip and damage at the same time.
Srimech - Runs up-side down, the front weapon is reversible but the rear wedge is stuck.

COLOUR- sleek and shiny silver
WEIGHT- about 100kg
DIMENSIONS- 90cm X 75cm X 30cm
SPEED- 16mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0
GROUND CLEARANCE- 0mm at the front, 7mm for the rest of the robot. Fitted with Biohazard-style skirts on sides and rear, giving 0mm
ARMOUR- 4mm Hardox
WHEELS- inside robot, 4-wheel drive
POWER- 2 X LEM-130s; 2 x 12v 3amp NiCad packs, giving 36v @ 12amp
WEAPONS- As usual, the main weapon is a rear-hinged flipper. This is very similar to Chaos 2, except the blade at the bottom is bent ala Bigger Brother, allowing the flipper to have greater effect against bots with skirts or low centres of gravity. The flipper itself is powered by 2 X 80mm high pressure pneumatic rams, each running at 250psi. This should allow Wedge Devo to comfortably flip up to 1 tonne.
SRIMECH- The flipper can right the machine easily and the rear wedge should hopefully prevent a Chaos-style self-flip. Also, Wedge Devo is equipped with a grey semi-sphere on either side of robot to prevent it getting stuck on its side
NOTES- flashing red light on top of robot, flies Scotland flag
STRENGTHS- powerful flipper, fast, manoeuvrable, difficult to get underneath, tough armour, good traction
WEAKNESSES- could prove a bit tricky to control, limited CO2 (like all other flippers :P)
2. Whirligig 4.5 (sort of formerly Whirligig 4.0)
SHAPE- flat disc
COLOUR- gold with Mauler-style scary face on top. The face shows the direction of the robot.
WEIGHT- about 100kg (see bottom)
DIMENSIONS- 101.6cm diameter X 12.7cm
SPEED- 15mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0
GROUND CLEARANCE- 8mm
ARMOUR- 1.905 cm thick Grade 5 titanium
FEET- inside robot, uses 4 DrillZilla-style shuffling plates. These help prevent the bot being flung halfway across the ring on contact with another bot, ala Typhoon
POWER- 2 X S28-400s running on 36v. Uses 120 X NiCad cells at 36v, producing 12amps at 36v overall for drive and weapon power
WEAPONS- The main weapon on Whirligig is the spinning outer ring, fitted with 9 x Pussycat-style claws. The spinner is powered by an LEM-130 running at 36v. It can reach speeds of 1000rpm and produce up to 100kJ...more than enough to kill another bot at full speed.
As well as this, the power in the shuffling feet mean that Whirly can act as a pretty powerful pusher if the shell fails to work
SRIMECH- the robot is invertible and the blades prevent Whirly landing on his side
NOTES- flies Scotland flag, thanks to AJ, my first properly calculated machine
STRENGTHS- fast, manoeuvrable, very deadly weaponry, tough armour, scary face shows its direction, very good traction, cant be flung away on impact as easily as Typhoon
WEAKNESSES- so-so manoeuvrability, feet may prove vulnerable to crushers and axes
WEIGHT CHECK:
armour = 33.72kg (inc blades)
chassis, mounts, bracing etc = about 30kg
drive and weapon motors = 12kg overall
NiCads = about 15kg
feet = about 10kg overall
TOTAL WEIGHT = 100.72kg. Fits right into the roller limit, with the 1% error margin rule. Probably.

SHAPE- skirted wedge with small box section and rounded back
COLOUR- deep green with red shield emblazoned on the wedge, depicting a gold lion with a crown
WEIGHT- about 100kg
DIMENSIONS- 95cm X 70cm X 40cm
SPEED- 14mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0m
GROUND CLEARANCE- virtually 0mm at the front, 0mm at sides and rear thanks to skirts (arranged in a Biohazard fashion, corner-to-corner), 10mm without
ARMOUR- 4mm Hardox
WHEELS- inside robot, 4-wheel drive
POWER- 2 X S28-400 MagMotors
WEAPONS- The main weapon, as ever, is the hydraulic diamond-tipped crushing claw. It is powered by a Vivoil pump with an 80mm x 40mm ram, with a 2kg tank for storing the hydraulics. The claw runs at 3000psi and, aided by the diamond tip, should be able to leave plenty of holes in another robot.
The front wedge also features a Firestorm-style blade and two flat spears to aid in getting under the opposition. The wedge itself is now home to several Mute-style barbs to help ensnare other robots.
SRIMECH- A forward-hinged pneumatic arm on either side, powered by a pair of linear actuators. The rounded rear also prevents the robot getting beached.
NOTES- flies the Scotland flag, thanks to AJ, et tu, Brute? written on the underbelly
STRENGTHS- Quite nippy, good traction, powerful weapon, difficult to get underneath, fairly quick srimech

The Zenith looks evil, but those wedges on Worck would make it hard to turn quickly due to the added friction and with 4 wheel drive it looks rather balanced. Im not sure at what my 6 wheel drive will be like with double wheels at the back, but The Zenith looks evil with those wedges...
...therefore my tactics are to attack the house robots :-)

Ah PCC, the robot designed when I was going though the stage of being high on drugs, so I am going to fit the so-called Pie-Tosser Flipper, get underneath either robot and try and flip them out of the arena

Go after Cats with Wheels, Kody want to team up?

Drive into Super Gore Evo with the I bar at full speed and try and cause some damage, dodge out of the way of MeCannibal, although those spin-ups speeds seem too fast.

WORCKs tactics are to ram under Calm Down Dear and drive into The Zenith as fast as I can. The thing about my wedges is that they reduce the amount of shock going through to the rest of the robot, so if The Zenith does hit me, I wont self-destruct so easily.
In the other battle, Robochicken shall go out.

Other tactics for me:
Nitro-Gene 4.0: Well, given tha Nitro-Gene was defeated by Crimson Thunder in the challenge belt, so if Kody could team-up, itll be a real help. Bash into Crimson Thunder, as we have equal amounts of power. Then push him into the wall - I have more than enough power to flip him out, as I have even more flipping power than Gravity!
Storm II: Just advice to Steven, Gravity is the weakest robot in terms of build. I should take Whirligigs frontal hits quite well, but still attack Gravity and push him into Whirligig.
MeCannibal 2.0: I wont die if Kody keeps pushing Dave into me, so Ill hit either of them until they die.

Get ready for the first ever battle of the Easter Bunny Tribute Championships!The roboteers are ready, the batteries are charged (hopefully) and the robots are ready to kick ASS!!
Residing over the first fight will be Sir Killalot and the pyro-maniac behind bonfire night, Sgt Bash!
Flick of the Wrist is the current challenge belt holder. Its entered by Martijn, and is a six wheel drive rambot with diamond tipped lifting spikes-WOAH!
Sithis also competed in the challenge belt this year, but enjoyed less success. But dont underestimate this FBS, as its invertible and packs a real punch!
Robochicken is a veteran of robot wars, a great looking robot with a flipper and spinning cutter at the rear.It also has a chickens head that used to be an axe (or pecker), but was traded for the equally in-effective spinner...

Robochicken loses a side panel and learns to fly! No beginners luck though, as it lands upside down on the flame pit! Luckily it was on its back and could use the chickens head as a srimech by firing the flipper and is OK, but the exposed drive motor didnt take kindly to being roasted on the flame pit!Robochicken drives in wide circles before crashing into the angle grinder!Sithis comes in while its trapped!
CRASH!
Robochicken flips over again and due to its unusual shape and the fact that its up against the wall it cant self-right! Refbot comes in for the count.

Worck v The Zenith v Calm Down Dear
The second three-way melee of the heat gets underway with two flippers and an FBS!
Not forgetting the two house robots residing over the match, these will be the beeeeeautiful Matilda and Shunt!
Worck was the first robot to beat Nidhogg in the challenge belt, but its other fights were quite poor, so itll be interesting to see how it does here...
The Zenith is entered by Kody, and is a powerful FBS with wedges to make OOTAs possible!
Calm Down Dear (Its Only a Robot) is a very interesting design, shaped like a logitech mouse, so it could get lured into the pit by the smell of cheese (Jonathan Pearce left his socks in there. Eurghh!)

Worck is the first off, chasing Calm Down, but David has other ideas and is attacking Shunt!
FLIP!
The heavyweight house robot somersaults and is propped up on the arena wall! Worck still wants a go though and persists, flipping Calm Down onto its back! David quickly self-rights and flips Shunt again, this time getting him right OOTA! Worck flips Calm Down again, which self-rights again, onto Worck, who flips it again! David self-rights again, but before Paul can flip him The Zenith comes in from behind and slams into Worck!
CRASH!
Worcks rear panel flies off and goes OOTA, landing on the camera tracks! The Zenith reverses and spins up again while Calm Down high-tails it out of the CPZ, leaving Worck there as Matilda comes in!
CRASH!
Worck is flipped again, this time into Kody!
CRASH!
The Zenith was already at full speed and Worck is taking some real punishment now! The skirts are all buckled and bent so David gets under and attacks!
FLIP!
Worck follows its armour panel and lands on the camera tracks OOTA!
But still Calm Down isnt finished with the house robots and flips Matilda on her side!Refbot comes in to give it a yellow card, but...
FLIP!
CEASE!
All three house robots are on their sides and Calm Down heads through with The Zenith!

The Zenith v Flick of the Wrist
Geez. :lame: Flick is a very controlled rambot, Ill give Martijn that. Its all about getting up to that top speed at first which Im sure Martijn will want to stop at all costs, and box-rush me. Basically Ill have to avoid that first charge and turn around to his sides. I believe hell try to spear me. It wont really damage my 6mm hardox ring, but that way may avoid the wedges and give him the ability to push me; mind you the wedges do have a pretty long reach (20cm) but I aint taking any chances, so Ill try to avoid the front throughout the entire battle. Go for the sides. Once I hit him, he should go flying and give me plenty of time to spin up again. If I can, try and hit the wheels or the bottoms of the side panels making the former easier. :proud:

The first of the two heat semi-finals- a powerful FBS v the best vapour rambot Ive yet to see!
The house robots that want to maul your bots in this round are Mr. Pyscho and Growler!
The Zenith proved itself in round 1 by demolishing Worck, how will it fare here against Martijn?
Flick of the Wrist is the bot to watch in this tournament. It blew away all-comers in the challenge belt, but can it out-do Kody and The Zenith?

Both robots put the obvious plans into action- Flick of the Wrist races across the arena to stop The Zenith doing what its planning to- spin up! Martijn is on time this time and lifts The Zenith, slamming it into the arena wall! Martijn then drags it onto the flame pit, but one of Kodys wedges catch the mesh and The Zenith escapes!This time it spins up on the move and by the time Martijn catches up tis at full speed!
CRASH!
Flick of the Wrist flies across the arena as it was caught by one of Kodys wedges! The Zenith quickly spins up again and follows up the attack, this time flipping Martijn into Growlers CPZ!The dog grabs Flicky and spins it around, giving Martijn some more airtime when it lets go!
CRASH!
Flicky lands, only to meet up with the Zenith again!
CRASH!
Martijn hits the angle grinder and falls to the floor, motionless! Refbot moves in for a closer look.

Flickys link was knocked out by The Zeniths last hit and the hot favourite is out of the competition!
Pyscho brings hammer down onto the armour!

Calm Down Dear v Sithis
The flipper v the FBS...This could be interesting, it could be close, it could be completely one-sided or it could be over in the blink of an eye...
Or both competitors could get destroyed by Cassius Chrome (snort) and Dead Metal!
Calm Down Dear took on the house robots in round one, and flipped Worck OOTA in its spare time. Its tactics are more focused on the battle this time though, so this could be a good fight.
Sithis teamed up with Martijn to defeat Robochicken in round one, but there can be no alliances here and Danny is on his own here!

Sithis spins up and heads towards Calm Down in the mood for a slam! But Calm Downs shape allows it to slide in underneath Sithis and launch it into the air!

Sithis lands on its side and tears a chunk out of the arena floor before bouncing back onto its wheels! Calm Down drives in again before Sithis can spin up and flips it again!And again!And again!And again!And again!And again!And again!
Sithis is getting bounced around like a - And again!- basketball and isnt- And again!- getting a chance to spin up.Dannys only hope would be to let Davids gas run down and stay away from the walls, but thats difficult when your beached on a flipper and getting pushed towards the side of the arena!

Well I was okay with Flick of the Wrist, so I should be okay here. Sithis couldnt really hit Calm Down Dear because the shape of Daves bot allowed it to get under a traditionally shaped FBS like Sithis. Not so here. :proud: Spin up and smack him with the wedges, and smirk when he tries to get under them. Within a few hits I should immobilize, but if not, pour on the hits, dont let take advantage of slow spins, the usual, etc etc.
Also, self-right when flipped as well, but strategically. If hes waiting for me to flip myself onto the wedge, spin the wedges to go off-balance and out of his line of fire, then right myself.

The first heat final!I can barely wait!
The house robots literally cant.There was a small debate about who would represent the house robot team that turned violent, ending (after lots of bum wiggling from Cassius Chrome...Sigh) when Growler got pinched on the nose by a cheesed off Dead Metal. When any human dared enter the workshop Matilda and Sgt Bash were finally picked as the representatives, mainly because Matilda wants sweet revenge on David and Shunt was still a bit queasy.
The Zeniths wedges could help it succeed where Sithis failed. It can flip Calm Down Dear around just as well as David can in turn.
David will have to have his wits about him in this round, as Matilda has got a VERY close eye on him...Is it revenge?On the contrary, I believe...ROMANCE..........NAAAAAAAAAAAAATTT!

Kody spins up and heads towards David, who is getting ready to fire the flipper.
CRASH!
Calm Down is flipped, but quickly self-rights and gets under The Zenith!
FLIP!
The Zenith spins to get away from David and self-rights, but Calm Down is there and flips it again, this time righting it only to flip it again, all the while pushing it towards the wall!
FLIP!
The Zenith somersaults, but doesnt go high enough and crashes into the arena wall!
Kody quickly self-rights and escapes, spinning up again!
CRASH!
Once again it turns Calm Down over, but David repeats his earlier tactics and self-rights quickly to retaliate by flipping his opponent again!Kody self-rights and starts spinning up, but Calm Down is quick and flips it towards the arena wall!Kody self-rights and tries to escape but Calm Down has already cut off The Zeniths options!

Iron Awe 5 v Nitro-Gene 4.0 v Crimson Thunder
The first melee of Heat B gets underway, 2 powerful flippers and an invertible rammer...
Also there are 2 house robots, Shunt and Cassius Chrome!
Iron Awe 5 is a powerful realie ranked 3rd in last years UK championships.It won the 2007 Winter Tour, dispatching Envy, Beast and Kan Opener in the finals!
Nitro-Gene 4.0 is another flipper, but this one is nitrogen powered and packs more ramming power than Iron Awe.
Crimson Thunder previously defeated Nitro-Gene in the challenge belt, so Danny will want a repeat performance here!

Crimson Thunder heads straight for the pit release as Iron Awe runs in to attack Nitro-Gene!

Nitro-Gene does a somersault, but lands on its feet and chases after Crimson Thunder!

Crimson Thunder is given a flying lesson as its hurled up into the air, only to come crashing down onto Iron Awe!
FLIP!
Crimson Thunder flies again, this time landing in Shunts CPZ!Shunt lifts Danny and pushes him out of the CPZ to fend for himself!
Crimson Thunder gets underneath the side of Iron Awe 5 and rams Kody across the arena, towards the pit!
This is an unexpected twist, but however unexpected it is its happening as Iron Awe falls into the darkness!

What at turn around!Despite getting battered early on Crimson Thunder pits Iron Awe, so Crimson Thunder and Nitro-Gene 4.0 go through!

Heat B:Round 1, Battle 2
Sheer Heart Attack 2 v PCC v E Clawdius Unum
The second melee is about to start- Roboteers, Standby!
The house robots waiting in the CPZs in this round will be Mr. Pyscho and Sir Killalot!
Sheer Heart Attack 2 is a very original drum design, with tracks and wedges at the rear.
PCC has over 8 weapon setups, and unsurprisingly David says he designed while high on drugs!
E Clawdius Unum has a high pressure crushing claw, powerful enough to show either opponent how its done!

Clawdius heads off into the center of the arena with its eye on PCC, which is using its pie-tosser flipper. So far Sheer Heart Attack is keeping quiet, spinning up to deliver a fatal blow? Any how Clawdius decides it wants a piece of PCC and heads in Davids direction, getting in underneath and attacking with the crusher!But David slips off the wedge and rams Clawdius across the arena, onto the Co2 jet where on of its skirts are lifted up! This gives David a chance and he takes it, slipping in underneath Steven to get that weapon into play!
FLIP!
Clawdius goes head over heels, but lands on its wheels and hurries off to attack Sheer Heart Attack 2! Martijn drives up onto Clawdius wedge, causing damage to the armour and avoiding the claw!Steven cant attack because Sheer Heart Attack has almost no bodywork for Steven to get that claw into! Meanwhile PCC comes in from behind and turns them both over!
Sheer Heart Attack runs away as Clawdius attempts to self-right, but its too slow as PCC is underneath again!
FLIP!
Clawdius flies once more, but lands on its wheels and turns around to attack Sheer Heart Attack from the side! Steven gets underneath and crushes the track from the top, immobiliing one half of Martijns machine! Steven then picks it up and toasts it over the flame pit before dumping onto an angle grinder!
PCC then comes in to finish the beached Martijn off!
FLIP!
Like the pies that weapon was intended for Sheer Heart Attack 2 is flipped out of the fight and the competition!
PCC and E Clawdius Unum go through!
