well now that this event has been announced as the UK feather champs I will definately be in attendance.
O and there will be two machines coming out of my garage. Might wanna make sure you have your armour bolted on and parachutes attached :)
ill be taking 3 machines then ;)
no not realy but 2 will be there
Hi Guys
well gary has already announced it :P
Yes this event will be the 2008 Uk Championships for Featherweights!
We are really looking forwards to what will be the biggest full combat championship of the year!
We will be announceing info as it comes including venue, seedings and of course the prize fund!
Sign ups are not open just yet but let us know if you are interested in entering. Same rules as the European champs. Every robot in the championship must have its own designated driver.
Certainly looking forward to it!
we will be attending
prob 2 flippers and my cuzs bot but they might have flipper by then
but def 3 robots and maybe more but then we run out of drivers
can i do the seedings :-)
cant wait for the event lol
It depends what robots I have around that time but you can count on Hannibalito 1 and Hannibalito 3.
3 Spinners 1 crusher 1 ram bot:mrgreen:
On second thoughts make that 4 spinners plus the rest:proud:
I propose a vote - no trash talk in this thread *cough* Little John and Adrian *cough* until two weeks before the event :proud:
And Team Terminal Damage shall hopefully be in attendance - I may have had to pass on it if my exams were too close to it but who cares if they are; this is sounding like too much fun to miss :)
Drumroll will be there, having technically joined the single-tooth club (as of tomorrow hopefully), Ill try and get Bullseye to work properly for my dad so it can emulate its previous whiteboard performances () and either Snakebite or Kaizer Mk3 will be there (depending on which ones easier to make/costs less)
ill be attending this 1 hopefully with 2 robots mayhem and tuff luck 2
i can see tony wants to win :P :)
ok jamie :)
I second that Jamie, we will be there, 360, DB5 and another new one.
flow will be there
Put me down for 2 places... Rip + 1... im going have a go at building a spinner me thinks !!! :)
John
How can we miss this event Alex would kill me, so count Tiny Toon in.
Gary thanks for rearranging the wheels with Hornet at Birmingham, I hadnt thought of trying that shape
Clive
out of interest im guessing one driver sticks to one machine? i have 3 i want to bring, me on the spinner, my daughter on hers, and someone else on prodigy i guess, the wife isnt interested lol.
i have to improve on last years 3rd place.

No bother clive. What I didnt mention at Birmingham was that my design skills come at cost :)
Yes thats right adrian. The reason is that in the past when someone has driven more than 1 robot in a competition they end up having to fight each other, which for 1 usually means they cant find a driver, and 2 the battles start to become planned to get their best robot through and gang up on others. In the past other organisers have said 1 robot per team, but then it means other robots can not enter. I.e, if LS signed up, LH and LF couldnt have entered.
hopefully will be coming to this, our first robo challenge event
Blimey! im feeling left out with just bringing along 1 robot.
Any chance of announcing the venue soon so we can book the travelodge?
I shall try to get our venue finalised soon, expect to have it confirmed by mid to late febuary.
Hello all
Heres the latest update for the Featherweight UK Championships 2008.
Dates - May 24th & 25th
Venue - Moorways Leisure centre, Derby
Show times - Sat: 2pm-4pm & 5pm-7pm
Sun: 12pm-2pm & 3pm-5pm
A prize fund of £500 will be up for grabs this year, split between the top three competitiors. 1st place £300 - 2nd place £150 - 3rd place £50. Custom made trophies will also be given to the top 3 competitiors.
There will be limit of 40 featherweights allowed to enter the championship. 10 spaces will be reserved for the top 10 seeded robots from 2007 which will be announced during next week. These spaces will stay reserved for 3 weeks. All other spaces are on a first come first serve basis.
There will be a £10 entry fee for the first robot per FRA membership, additional robots under the same mambership will have a £5 entry fee. This will secure you place in the championship and all fees go directly towards the prize fund.
Sign up dates, seedings, local accomadation will all be confirmed shortly.
were looking forward to the championships now! not long to go.
Robo Challenge Crew
Count tiny toon in. Looking forward to it.
Will sign up officially when sign up opens.
james, just a thought, as their are limited attendance, will their be a limit on how many robots a team can enter on sign ups?
will be a good event
should have 2 bots ready for this event
Adrian - There isnt a limit on the amount allowed to enter, but there is a fee per robot. With 40 spaces free there is plenty of room. If you dont think your robot will be ready intime then I suggest people wait untill they know it will be ready before signing up and paying an entry fee.
Two bots will be coming from my end :) Cant wait!
Ahh a nice update thats got me buzzing about this event now - but its made me realise there are only three months to go :uhoh:
Drumrolls currently undergoing a few cosmetic mods and will be there - Im itching to test the drum out full-on against another robot now that its working well but I need to refit the motors and modify the teeth before doing so. Best get cracking! :)
It great to hear the venue has been sorted now. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully the machine will be working nicely by then.
Ok here are our top 10 rankings in order. These were produced from everybodies performance event over 2007.
Beauty
Skink
Mini Mighty Mouse
Whirlpool
Little Hitter 2
Little Flipper
Push n Shove
Captain Scarlett
Prodigy
Little Spinner 2
These machines have their spaces reserved for 3 weeks from the opening of sign ups.
ill hopefuly be coming with 2 bots
hi james, i dont need my space reserving, if it helps/saves holding it. but i will probably come as a paying spectator and offer an extra pair of hands (if needed).
or as prodigys are no more, if some one uses the name they automatically guarantee themselves a place
