Returning once again to the ever popular Royal International Air Tattoo.
Roaming Robots will be providing its show in the Robot Zone in open air, and glorious sunshine ( we hope ).
The Pay to drive fleet will be on hand for the budding roboteers which was very popular last year.

Looks like it will be a good show, for those that may get the time to look at the aircraft that is.
60th anniversary of the USAF is one of the main themes. The Thunderbirds (NOT Plunderbirds:lol:), display team will also be there. First time at the RIAT, last time in the uk was 6 years ago. I have seen the show twice, and recomend you try to see it, just see how close they get in some formations!!!
Have had a look on the web page about the event, as it is now up.No details yet (of course) on what aircraft will be there, but in the Tri@RIAT section there is a bit mentioning that the robots will be there agin this year.
yes 3rd year and might be easier to name the aircraft not going :)

It turns out the CAA suspended its licence for failing to file a flight plan prior to take off and improper use of Swindon airspace! :proud:
Dont rule out Hannibalito 1 and 2 just yet. I might even have the new Splinter ready by then.
Kronic will be there. Hope its a bit cooler this year. :rofl: Might even bring Weed for its second outing. Lets hope it will work this time :)

Hi i hope to make this one with my robot working please put me down for this one i hope it will not be as wet as Aylesbury!!!!!!!!!! Team Bad Bolts will be there with The Saint (should be working by then) we look forward to seeing every one there.

As per normal at RIAT, camping provided... big BBQ and social on both Friday and Saturday Night. Welcome to join us for a good evening and relax after a day of fun battles and air show watching. We need your information ASAP such as Car Reg and so on for Secuirty. Fun weekend of random fun white board fights out side in the big Roaming Robots arena.

What do we do about supplying the names of the team members and extra car registrations. If memory serves there were extra boxes on the form last year.

The online sign up form has just been updated, mix up with the info email sent to me to make the form. Press F5 if you can not see the new details required. You should be able to input up to 4 team members and 2 cars worth of details if you need to.

Teams MUST put full names for ALL team members and give full details about their cars for secuirty passes. If you filled out one of the old forms, (before 10pm today 21st June) - then please fill out a new one. Thank You.

Event update.. It looks like Jenson Button will be at RIAT on the Saturday. On the Tri@ riat arena timetable, his name is down for something from 14.10 till 15.00. So expect a few people around the area between those times. That is if the robot arena is where it was last year, in relation to the main arena.
never mind Jenson Button.......Envy will be around all weekend so expect a few people around all the time.
LOL!!! (And old people on scooters watch out!!)
Least theres no lifts on where were all staying - so everyone lock up ya tents at night instead!!!

Its better to have Jenson Button driving around then Christian Albers, he might take the fuel hose with him again.
Leo: LOL. Chance that he might get his F1 licence revoked, or a big fine, maybe? As it could have been a lot worse than it was.
He is fined 6000 euros (roughly 4000 pounds), and Niki Lauda is asking for revoking of his FIA license. So far that is not the case.

the flights are short and the landings are abit harsh, bit like Eds ego when he finishes second again LOL :rofl:

Yes, were clear now!:) Thanks both.
Andrew:- Not sure (as I do not have a bot) if you can get there on Saturday, to take part in the show. If you can you will need to be EARLY! The show starts at 09.45 this year, so I expect the trafic to build up from about 06.00ish. That is going on last year.
We got there about 3/4 of an hour before the gates opened,(this year like last 07.30) and there was a line of trafic about 1/2 a mile long.
I know you will have special passes but you will still have to wait in the line of traffic.

Well done to all the robots, i don€™t think I€™ve seen so many broken robots get mended in all the events we€™ve done... snapped shafts, broken chains, burnt motors... you name it we had it.
The feedback from Riat was once again nothing but positive, that was shown by the amount of interest we had even when it was raining.
Boy oh boy were we lucky with the weather again, only a few showers!!!!

Geoff thinking the soldering iron was a hot dog and picked up the hot end.
Swanny helping take the arena down decided to whack himself on the head with a hammer... not nice at all :sad:
All in all another excellent event, and well done to the feather weight teams who organised their own competition, and to Weird Alice, who were the stars of the show!!
Looking forward to next year already.

Had great fun over the weekend and between Jenny possibly breaking her finger and Geoffs soldering iron mishap I felt sure I should have put M.A.S.H. on the campsite tent :rofl:
