RR Winter Tour - Round 2 Portsmouth
Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth.
7/8th October 2006
Returning for more of the same as last year.
3 shows over 2 days, with over 1200 spectators last year, should provide a buzzing atmosphere.
More details will follow later in the year on the website.

Hades has been tested and tested and tested and tested .........finaly there are no problems anymore with the boshes/speedo´s ...also got enough groundclearance so the problems like in kettering are over ....CU all in portsmouth ...
Good to hear Marco! Unlike Turbulence which has been tested and tested and tested until its finaly falling apart, But it will be there :)
Dave. Kronics all ready for the event. Are we still gonna do the swapsies Whiteboard fight (I drive Turb and you drive Kronic)? If anyone else wants to join in a swapsies W/B fight then well all go in together for a fight (if its OK with Jonno). One rule, you cant drive your own robot.
It sounds like a whole flipping lot of fun to me !!! :)
information will be sent tonight with final details, been down in portsmouth for the last week doing PR. Back in the normal land of living today.... or as normal as my life is anyway !!!

Please confirm the correct times as Im totally confused by the above

yes the times are correct.
Unless you thought the show times were
1pm - 5pm
2am - 12pm
3am - 3pm
And then things would be a little confusing.
Numbers on the left are show numbers not times.

We could handle that house robot if I wanted the gas to only last 5 flips...

Just posting the email that Jonno sent out to roboteers at 9:45pm today, as ive herd that 2 roboteers have not recevied the email so just making sure there aint any more. As i know Jonno will be very busy tomorrow to check the internet.

Guys, well another round of the tour is upon us again,
this time Portsmouth.
The address of the venue is :
The Mountbatten Centre
Alexandra Park
Twyford Avenue,
Portsmouth,
Hampshire
PO2 9QA
The centre is easy to find, most of you will have
attended last year, and so should remember.
Come off the M275 towards Portsmouth town centre and
it is signposted from the junction.
Show times are:
Sat 5pm
Sun 12pm and 3pm
Please arrive by 4pm on Saturday and 11am on Sunday.
The centre are very proud of their floor, and so we
will again be putting carpet down to protect the
runway, please be careful when moving robots.

Thanks for sending it here stu, ive decided i need a secretary to do this kind of thing, as it is always on the list but gets put back and back as other things take preference.
That and I still havent got my laptop running properly yet including no sound..... and no excel to get to my email lists and stuff.
Technology and me dont mix at the best of times !!!
Who thought of doing an event 200 miles from home anyway !!! How silly !! :)

Great event, was fun :)
Learnt a few lessons too-
Dont pick a competition fight with Terrorhurtz when i dont need to win it, and he does.
Keep a fire exstinguisher handy.

I agree - great event I had loads of fun...... I seem to be turning the action of driving into the pit into an artform :rofl:
I was there in the audience on the Sunday 3:00pm show and would have come to say hello, but unfortunately I could barely speak due the very bad cold I am suffering from :angry: (if any of you spotted a person in the audience with hundreds of tissues, that was probably me).
There were some great fights as always though, and I left event feeling a good deal better than when I went in :)
If the rest of the tour is as good, the DVD will be just as good as the one for the UK Champs I got for my birthday!

The damage to Turbulence is mainly superficial, a few improvements will be done before Bham to stop the back caving in like it did in that fight. Great event will do a report for the web site tomorrow.

John: RC smart speedos are ESCs that we found. They are 6V min to 12V max, 100A forward and 60A backwards. They are very basic speedos, thats why they are so cheap. So dont expect regen braking or asjustable slew rates, just a simple elecronic speed controller.
