The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Y4
Weight: 99 kilos
Body Shape: T-Minus
Speed: 16mph
TC: 0
GC: 2mm, but the flipper blade reaches 0.
Wheels: 2 semi outer (that means theyre protected)
Armour: 5mm titanium
Power: The usual 3x 12v batteries and couple Magmotors for power.
Colour: Grey
Weapons: An extremely powerful flipper (Try 300 kilos+). Can perform about 30 or so flips before it starts weakening.
Srimech: The flipper acts as srimech. It can also be used as gymnastics. A light flip will knock the robot back over, but pressing hard on the button will send the robot into a 540 degree spin before landing, or a Matador style bound in mid air. All prperly controlled, of course.
Inspiration: A quote from a cartoon. Taz-mania, I believe.
Strengths: Powerful flipper, very entertaining.
Weaknessess: Semi exposed wheels.
BIO
Even the simplest of names create a savage effect. This flipper flapper is back under my arms, and ready to make his own mark on the world. Like Mega Masher, he is based on a Battlebot champion, this time T-Minus, and thus is a master at powerful flips.
EXTRAS: For this tourny, Y4 will be covered in pink fur. It will also have two googly eyes on top of springs.

That sure is comedy! :proud:
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Name: Hammy
Shape: Sphere shaped, if you hadn€™t already guessed
Colour: See-Thru
Dimensions: €¦meh
Weight: 50kgs maybe?
Motivation: Four 100mm diameter wheels, with rubber grips.
Power: Two LEM130€™s at 36v and a 36v NiCad pack.
Speed: 30mph, fast!
Turning Circle: Don€™t ask€¦
Ground Clearance: Variable from 0mm to 8ft in the air
Skirting: Ha, good joke!
Armour: A polycarbonate sphere (with a hatch to get inside). Inside, the €˜hamster€™ is made of an Aluminium monocoque covered with orange fur with two googly eyes.
Weapon: Driving over other robots€¦
SRIMECH: Always lands in a way it can move because of its ball shape. The hamster inside always lands on its wheels, no matter how badly it gets shaken about.
Strengths: *sniggers*
Better Description: A polycarbonate ball with a small robot inside, working in the same way as Psychosprout. The small robot is basically just the radio gear, a speedo, a few motors and some wheels to make it move. It€™s made of Aluminium and is covered in fur, just for fun. Basically it drives around and moves the sphere in the same way a hamster moves in a ball. If it gets flipped or whatever, the €˜hamster€™ inside always lands back on its wheels and drives away again. It€™s very fast, and very light and basically just runs around bumping into and running over things.
Hows that? Ask if you need any more info. :)
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Oh, I knew Id forgotten something...
Y4 has two extra features on (or in) it for the added comedy effect.
1: It wears a cape, ala Batman.
2: There is a woopie coushin hidden inside. Everytime the flipper fires, the woopie goes off.

The Children In Need Tournament 2005
I dont want to argue, theres been enough of that already, but GGG is a three way cluster, painted like Pudsy (with bandages painted on the underneath), and seeing as theyre not working together, just in as three bots working independantly, its not like it intend to win with it, its just there to fill a spot, in fact its a bot i dont uise in any other tournament because it is meant to be a comedy bot, for someone not in this, you do moan a fair bit, and there, youve got *me* into a rant.
Martyn, use GGG or use this, heck use both, or use none, whatever, not like i care. Tony, a little advice, and goodness knows im not trying to piss you off, leave the decisions to the guy running the tournament.
Name: Vampire Twins
Shape: Boxes (two way cluster)
Colour: A very gothic creature of the night black and red.
Comedy aspect: Googly eyes fake fangs
Weight: 100 kg, 50 kg each
Speed: 15 mph
Turning circle: Zero
Ground clearance: 5mm
Weapons: Both have two drills on the front
Armour: 5 mm Ti
SRIMECH: None needed. Bandages on bottom like Going Going Gone
Strengths: Creatures of Dahkness (darkness with a lisp you goof)
Weaknesses: Don€™t like the sun (they burn easy :p)
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Whoa, easy there. I wasnt trying to piss you off, I was just saying GGG wasnt really a comedy bot. Or at least, i didnt really see what was a joke about it. Sorry for any offense taken.
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Name: Voodoo
Shape: A cake shape eg. squat cylinder
Colour: Black with lime psychadelic swirls all over (kind of like aborgine art)
Comedy aspect: Its weapon - Ill cover it below
Weight: 100 kg
Speed: 20 mph
Turning circle: Zero
Ground clearance: 1mm
Weapons: On the top are little models of the other contetants (the people) arranged in a ring, next to each is a little arm which picks up little pins from the cetnral reservoir and stabs them into the models (which rotate and are lowered up and down on platforms so you get varying coverage) to produce a devastatign voodoo attack. This is all automatic so happens withotu my help. Also has eight carbon steel spikes around it, and can do a bit of full robot spinning.
Armour: 12 mm Carbon fibre/titanium composite
SRIMECH: a large rollcage, which also protects the weapon from beign squashed
Strengths: Calls upon the dark power of voo-doo to smite its enemies...
Weaknesses: Has a finite number of pins (about 500).

The Children In Need Tournament 2005

The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Name: Ed,EddnEddy
Weight: 100kg
Dimensions: all 3 are 55cm cubes, but Edd has a triangular flipper shape at the front(like Raging Reality) and Eddy has a slight THz type extension on the front
Weapons: Ed: Ed has a front panel covered in solid stainless steel spikes, 5 rows of 6 spikes. Edd: Edd is armed with a rear hinged flipper that€™s powered by a soda stream bottle and can flip 150kg, and its Raging reality type shape. Eddy: Eddy has a large headsman axe, a smaller version of THz, driven by an astroflight through a gearbox delivering a 300kg force on the other end.
Drive: Edd and Eddy are powered by a pair of Astroflight motors powered by 36v NiCad packs with a 2wd system, but Ed has a pair of Mag C40s powering a 4WD system, also powered by 36v NiCad€™s.
Speed: Ed: 20mph, Edd and Eddy: 15mph
Armour: 3mm stainless for all of them
Srimech: Ed is invertible, Edd and Eddy can self right with their weapons
Colour: see photo on profile
Strengths: Work well together
Weakness: Each part is only about 33kg, so can be thrown easy
Link: 3 progned bar that is slotted into the Eds and is released by a magnetic catch so it fall on the floor when they split.

The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Name: 1WD
Weight: 100 kg
Shape: a pretty flat and invertible cylinder, with one wheel in the middle and two smaller cylinders mounted on the sides, with the bottom end scraping over the floor (also when inverted), these are extremely powerful double headed vacuum cleaners actually
Speed: 30 MPH
Clearance: a centimeter or so
Power: 1 B42-500 Magmotor at 48 volt
Movement: 1 wheel
Turning Circle: ~ 40 cm I think
Features: A one wheeled machine, how does it turn? Simple, the sides contain two powerful vacuum cleaners, when I wanna turn left, the left cleaner will be turned on and the left side will suck onto the floor, meaning the bot will turn, once turned far enough, the cleaner will be turned off. With two cleaners turned on, Ill be practically immovable :proud:
Armour: 8 mm titanium
Strenghts: will keep the arena relatively clean, look at that speed :proud:
Weakness: cant push, cant damage, look at that speed :proud:
note to self: never create a funbot again

I guess since Im awesome and Steve is Scottish, Id like to team up with him on the other ones. Just keep my disc spinning at all times, try to get good hits on Y4s wheels as well as TTTRs wheels. Also try not to hit the cuddly flying fox.

Alex want to team up Ill toss Diotor 2 up and over whilst you do your voodoo skills on edd,ed and eddy.

The Children In Need Tournament 2005
ROUND 1
MELEE
Pit Drone VS TAILS VS The Tim Tribute Robot VS Y4
A team-up sounds good to me, Alexio. :)
Well, first off, the Tim Tribute will be lucky to even move in this fight, so charge over hammer tails-first and see how far I can scatter Daves horrible homage across the arena floor. :proud:
Once completely disintegrated, head for Y4 and use the better manoueverability to target the sides. Im guessing that Chris has gone the whole T-Minus and uses wheel guards, so get the blade to work on them and hopefully screw them wheels up worse than Sonic X did to my childhood. :proud:
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Its too tempting to go for TTTR...so Ill go for it. One flip should do it in, although Ill probably perform a mega-flip. Then turn my attention to...err...maybe Pit Drone.
Also see if I can flip myself over so I can perform the stunts with my flipper.
Oh, and for the record, yes, Y4 does have wheel guards. However, they act more like a hood, so they cover the wheels top and sides. It still sticks out from the rest of the body though.

Flip stuff, go after any houserobots going with all three clusters, be generally entertaining, maybe win, but that comes last on my little list here :p
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
worse than Sonic X did to my childhood.
I dont know why this made me laugh, but it did. =P
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
Tactics:
Ed: Ram Just Plain Bunkers around until the bunk bed collapses
Edd: Flip diotior over and over and hopefully over the wall
Eddy: smash into voodoo and knock the pins everywhere and smashing the arm on the top, and hopefully the pins will punture some tyres (the Eds tyres are solid I forgot to mention)
-
The Children In Need Tournament 2005
guess Ill be driving around the arena like a mad skier, and see whatll happen :proud:
