Our second qualifier event...with this event being a 2 day event with 3 action packed shows for you to choose from, is going to ba a fantastic event. Watch the roboteers battle it out for a place in the final to win not only a great trophy, but the prize money aswell!

To John Lear, better get some thick blankets and thermal underware, or an all in one suit, if you are going to sleep in your car. Gets cold down there at the end of Aug. (Have slept several times on Southport common at the kite festival)
So it will be b!**&y cold in Oct.

No idea about other teams, Holiday Inn Express are usually fairly popular with the teams though based on past experience.

does anybody know which hotel, Holiday Inn or Travel Inn , is the closest from the venue . My driving on the WRONG side of the road isn´t very good ! Do more teams than Team Mad stay in Travel Inn ?

Travel Inn - Venue = 21miles (33k)

Travel Inn is showing rooms at £55.95/night
Holiday Inn showing rooms at £59.night (inc breakfast)

Nothing in it really, doubt youll go wrong whichever you pick.

Turbulence just had its first flipper tests on full flowrate and full 10bar pressure. It ripped the 6mm steel mounting hinge for the ram apart (structual failure of the steel not my welding). Unfortunatly this means stripping the whole robot apart and re-making the hinge ( a few solid days work) along with what else needs doing:sad:- so theres a 90% chance I wont be able to get it ready in time, But ill try my best:)

Strange question this one, but.....
Is there anyone going to this event from up North who would have the room to bring back a heavy weight bot ?.

Important question : 2 weeks ago blown the mosfets of a 4qd 200 . Bought a new one from 4qd , installed it , but the speedo only works forward , not backward . Switched the wires from the interface from the left speedo to the new speedo , but doesn´t make any difference , the new one only works one way , so stick forward or backwards makes no diference . Has anybody got experience with 4qd 200´s ? Need to know quick because of event this weekend ! Mailing to 4qd just takes to long ...

Sounds like the usual quality that 4QD are producing on their new 4QD-200s to be honest. We had some old 4QDs in Storm II when we entered Robot Wars New Blood a few years ago and they were solid as a rock (except for shattering a PCB but I suspect that was my driving style).

More recently 4QD-200s have been dying regularly when run with Perms (and LEMs) so a growing group of us are increasingly convinced that something has been changed with the units.

Id push 4QD on this one, or perhaps if Paul from Technobots is coming to Portsmouth you could return your dead one to 4QD and see if Paul can bring you a new one to Portsmouth ?

Yes, I think you may have located an effect of a recent change... Sorry
about that. We need to change the manual.

With the Interface you need to change (or remove) link J2, or the
reversing threshold is too high.

Got to see tomorrow if that´s the answer to my problems , now going to bed , gonna be a long , long weekend .... CU all saturday .

Look for Twyford Avenue... Alexandra Park is a park, not a street.

The centre is very well sign posted off the motorway.

I have found it easily twice on site visits once with and once without a map.
