Robots Live! - 29th & 30th September 2012 - LC2, Swansea

New event for 2012! We're off to Wales for the first time. We'll be at the LC2 Leisure Centre, one of the biggest tourist attractions in Wales. Also something abit different, we'll be running 4 shows over the weekend.

Saturday: 3pm & 6pm
Sunday: 12pm & 3pm

Not that bad an idea. Swansea is having 4 shows anyway - this could make good use of the extended showtime.

Full combat Heavyweight event? If so i will come over with Gravity 5.2.

Not full combat, the 'Team Champs' is a different format where you are put into 4 teams, and compete in different types of fights/games. Not confirmed yet if we will be running it here yet, will let you all know ASAP.

What class of arena is going to be there, the Robots Live arena is a Class 3 arena is it not, with the netting for shrapnel not the 10mm polycarbonate of a class 2, so no spinners?

UK Team Championships 2012

This years Team Champs will be held at the Swansea event. Can Team Barbie hold on for a second year, will the Mighty Reds behave and can the Tilly Allstars bounce back?

After last year we're looking at changing the games up abit, some of them didn't work aswel from an audience point of view, therefore we're looking at moving to more fight based challenges, maybe;

We obviously need to keep the teams fairly even in terms of numbers, so there may have to be some swapping about, priority will be given to those who were in the teams before.

Also a quick note, this event was originally listed as 4 shows, but will be the usual 3 (Sat 6pm, Sun 12pm & 3pm) unless we've sold out well before, then we may bring back the 4th show.

aslong as its done intime it will be ye, but its called reaper now to keep the original owners happy

Reaper and Bulldog will have to remain open at the moment, as there could be too many in Saints and Sinners.

Hi Alan, have you sorted accomodation yet ? i remember we where talking about it as the
hotels right next to the venue would be full of drunks at night and very noisy so we might
stay further away where its quieter. must book soon just over a month to go, i was
wondering if a premier inn was an option ?

I insist that must be wrong. They're unlikely to be staying in the hotels, on the grounds that most of the drunks are born & bred Jacks. :lol: Sorry, on behalf of Swansea, for the inconvenience.

On the point of Hotels, if at all possible, avoid Travelodge & Premier inn City Centre. I've still yet to figure out why they built those there. 'Cafe quarter' my bum, it's nightclubsville with day jobs.

Try the Premier inn waterfront. It's by the old King's dock about
1/2 a mile up Fabian way. It's apparently not that busy at night.

Also can recommend Village hotel. Got good rep at a Doctor Who convention.

We're stopping at the Premier Inn Waterfront.

Well robot weekends are turning into proper weekends away now my life has changed, I have to fit Kirsty and her friend in the car for this event !!

They are coming to size up to opposition for when they build their own !! Then we are in trouble, their school has got a nice laser cutter which cuts steel, can't wait to get my hands on it !!
