Off the shelf, you could use a hydraulic ram. But that will be Heavy Metal.Quote:

So a hydraulic ram would work fine in a pneumatic system? What do you mean by heavy metal?

An hydraulic ram is ment to withstand 3000psi + (currently, 4500 is the top of the commercial range).
That means it's more than strong enough to take 1000psi, but strength is in mass.
Wall thickness and so on make up the mass.
