Question
I'm currently running 4 Argos motors at 16.8v with an electronize 30a on each side. My question is what am gaining by running 4 instead of 2? Surely I'm just splitting what the speedo can deliver in terms of power? Forget about traction etc
Thanks

Re: Question
in terms of your speedo it will be doing more work if you like and nearer it limits running 4 motors rather than 2
all the advantages of 4 wheels come in traction grip pushing power etc

Re: Question
Ok, cool. I'm currently building a 4wd flipper and got a little worried about weight!

Re: Question
Also, if Im using a 16.8v battery, how to I get it down to 12v for a solenoid valve or can I just run it at that voltage? Same goes for a battle relay?

Re: Question
i believe both should be in that voltage range
not sure though check with someone else

Re: Question
A 12v solenoid can be run @ 24v as long as it's only for a few 10's of seconds.
The pushing ability is limited by the mass ( weight ) of your robot on the wheels and the co-efficient of friction of the tyres.
The BEST you could possibly achieve is a pushing force in kg's equal to that of your robot.... 0.9 times the bots weight in kg's is probably closer to the max you could achieve
and 4 driven wheels gives this possibility... all other configurations have a percentage of the bots mass sitting on castors or skids thus it's not available to be used for grip.
