melted esc conectors
The motor conectors on my speed controler melted and the conectors are now jammed. The esc still works, but i dont know wether to replace them; solder wires straight to the esc. Any sugestons or advice would be helpful.

Re: melted esc conectors
Slight thread hi-jack, but has any tried to re-solder the wires to the PCB on the Electronize controllers?
Thanks,

Re: melted esc conectors
what were you running off that esc to do that to it?! You should be able to desolder the connector if you're careful and solder wires straight on or replace the block.
And yes you can re-solder the wires onto the electronize controllers. I'm doing a similar job myself atm.

Re: melted esc conectors
I've soldered fat wires onto PCB boards before with varying success.......
Guess I'll give it a try and hope for the best!

Re: melted esc conectors
If you solder the wires straight to the board then you can't easily disconnect the speed controller if you need to take something apart. You could however put a connector on your wires so you can still take it apart, this way you could use a better connector.
You could replace the connector. It looks a bit like one of these but to be sure you need to measure it to get the right size.
Any ideas as to why you melted the connector in the first place?

Re: melted esc conectors
Thanks thats a good idea :) . I melted the conectors because I stalled a motor so the wires heated up and melted the sleve around it then the hot wires then shorted together and melted most of the wires in the robot! :uhoh:

Re: melted esc conectors
They do work, I gust cant fit the wires in the conectors.
