pneumatic help
i would like some pictures of peoples various pneumatic systems (lifters and flippers) and lists of all the parts needed for a LP pneumatic system?
also, would anyone with some good experience with pneumatic be able to almost mentor me and help we through building and answer questions? (which there will be a lot of probably)

Re: pneumatic help
i can help you with pneumatics if you want

Re: pneumatic help
can anyone give me a good lost with some specifications for different parts for a LP pneumatic system?
if i positioned the ram right etc i should be able to flip other robots in the air etc?

Re: pneumatic help
providing you have enough flow/bore/stroke/pressure yes . would you like a list of everything for a low pressure pneumatic setup?

Re: pneumatic help
for the setup i used:
regulator
5/2 solenoid valve
push fits + 8 and 12mm tubing
pneumatic ram (sometimes called a pneumatic cylinder)
2x 2kg co2 tanks (1 buffer 1 reservoir)
1 x smaller regulator ( to save gas on flipper return)
a load of guages connectors and adapters
battleswitch
ball valve for venting gas
PRV
2 quick exhaust valves
i may have forgotten 1 or 2 things

Re: pneumatic help
Regulator- turns fully pressure co2 into low pressure co2
5/2 solenoid valve- changes/stops the flow of co2. 5/2 means 5 port 2 way. 1 port for input, 2 ports for exhaust, and 2 outputs. when the solenoid is energised the flow changes from output 1 to output 2 and excess co2 is vented. hard to explain see: http://howto.killerhurtz.co.uk/pneumatics.htm
push fits- go into ports and hold tubing.
pneumatic ram- for double acting (uses co2 to go up and down) co2 goes in 1 end and ram extends, co2 goes into other end ram goes down.
co2 tanks- hold co2, the main tank with the full pressure co2 is reservoir, the tank with low pressure co2 is called the buffer
smaller regulator- turns low pressure co2 to even lower pressure
guages- to measure the pressure
adapters- to fit stuff together
battleswitch- plugs into your receiver and is used to control a solenoid valve
ball valve- a small valve i used to vent the pressure from the low pressure system ( this is mandatory)
prv- vents the gas if the pressure gets to high. ie if your system is a 10 bar one set the prv for 11bar, if 11bar is reached the prv will release gas. prv= pressure releif valve
quick exhaust valves- hard to explain, see the link i sent you.

Re: pneumatic help
everything for a LP system used, and not HP. can you tell me if these diagrams of the systems and parts lists are correct and my understanding of were a buffer tank goes. And the funny things on the buffer tanks are T-fittings but it dawned on me after photgraphing it arrows would be better so ignore the pipe type things above the T-fittings
single acting system:
parts list:

were i think the buffer tank goes:

double acting system:

and again, were i think the buffer tank goes:
