welding aluminum

I like to know how difficult is welding aluminum plate?

I don't know first hand but i've heard its pretty specialised. Could be wrong though.

I reckon its fairly easy to blow holes through if you're not careful.

It's not difficult with practice. Getting the heat into the plate is the major problem but not so much heat that the plate will warp. You need to use a TIG or MIG welder to do a decent job.
