Dump valve question
Hi All
Last night, I was in the garage with Storm Force and because I hadn't been touching the pneumatics for a while, I thought I'd give it a try and activate the CO2 twice. Before I did it the second time, I pushed the lever on SF's dump valve and when activating my fire extinguisher bottle, the noise the escaping CO2 made sounded louder. If it sounds louder, does that mean the dump valve is open? I know this may sound daft but I reckon I have to learn fast about technologies like pneumatics rather than always having to rely on Jonno on helping me with it when arming SF up in the arena.
Cheers

Re: Dump valve question
hey,
if you were arming up the pneumatics and you say it made a louder noise when u pressed the dump valve, why is gass escaping in the first place?
are you saying you armed up sf to do a flip and theres gas escaping?
or when u do a flip the escaping gas sounds louder?
or are you on about the noise of gas comming out the bottle into the pipes? if the valve is open you will hear a kind of hissing where as if its just going into the pipes it will sound windy as if the hissing is muffled- make sense lol:P
i recommend having a pressure gauge anyhow as then you can tell properly what pressure your running at and if u arm up and then turn the bottle off you can tell if its holding all the gas or if theres a leak somewhere :)

Re: Dump valve question
Oh right, wait. I need to clarify things a bit
First time, I activated the gas bottle squeezing the levers causing a usual noise of flowing CO2, then turned the gas bottle off. Then I flicked the switch for the dump valve the other way to what it was like previously, after that I activated the gas bottle like the last time and the noise of flowing CO2 sounded louder. I'm presuming the second time I activated the gas bottle after flicking the switch for the dump valve, the dump valve was open yeah?

Re: Dump valve question
And no I don't think they'res CO2 escaping in the first place

Re: Dump valve question
ahhh right i get you now,
then yh i'd say what you just said is right then:)
