i would say so yes because the motor inside is just spinning in one direction and then the other so i would have thought the force would be the same.
Depends on the motor. If it has an advance on the brushes it will run a tad faster and with more torque in 1 direction.
ok, so generally with actuators if the force isnt the same, is it safe to say its somewhere near in either direction?

i found a actuator that has the following spec.
Load capacity: 2500N/ static load: 4500N
basically on my hw if the robot is flipped on its arse end lol, i wanted to use a actuator to tip it back onto its wheels. as weight is a problem and tried different methods the easiest way i found to solve it is with a actuator.
i want to mount it quite high in the robot to push a rod to tip it back over. would these specs be sufficent. thanks
The load capacity is the movement capacity, that actuator is ment to move a load of 254 kg directly on the spindle.
The static load is 458kg, meaning the mechanical bits can hold at least a weight of 458 kg before failing.
Leverage can change the numbers of course.
so that should easily tilt a 98kg hw, providing i mount it correctly

Should be.
But if your machine gets flipped and lands full on the arm, I hope for the poor linak that you have build in a mechanical fuze to protect it from the bounce.
the linear will be inside the robot, a hole is at the back,when the actuator is opened it will push a steel rod out of the back. and hopefully retract it quite quickly lol.
