First Antweight
Yeaaaaaah, its me. I dont have time or money for a featherweight at the moment. An antweight, however...thats a different story.
Ill be asking questions in this thread, as Ive just ordered parts (motors right now, these ones in fact: http://www.precisionmicrodrives.com/product_info.php?products_id=160http://www.precisionmicrodrives.com/...roducts_id=160 ). I dont want to make a whole bunch of different threads for one antweight. lol
FYI, the new antweight will be called Flamberge and will have a horizontal (kinda tilted) cutting blade.
Wish me luck, gents. :)

Good luck with your AW!
Those motors look ok for the job.
If your going for a slightly tilted blade vertically, then i would suggest some good teeth, and a wedge.
The 2 make killer flippers! (Ive practised on RA2, realistic design)

...you dont want to make a whole bunch of threads like the ones on ZED, here and your new forum? lol
Seriously, good luck with it, hope this time something gets built and good times are had. Youre welcome to tap into my far too large repository of antweight knowledge for this, seeing as youll be getting it all during idle parts of conversations anyway :P

A tilting horizontal cutting blade works quite well see Variant below.

It came second in the last world series event and can be seen flying out of the arena below but not before the other robot exited in two directions.

Got my LiPo battery about a week ago, still waiting for my motors to come in. I got a notice from a postal office so the motors should be there.
Gonna start looking into a bit of armour now. :)

That motor should be perfect for a 7.4v LiPo and a 30mm diameter wheel.

Hi peter, the circuit board on variant, have you some how soldered the pins from the br rx onto it? aswell as the motors below? What do you use to controll the drive motors?
Looking into making another antweight.. will bring moose ant to an event soon aswell, havnt played with the ants for over 3 years.

No I fit a socket to the board so the receiver is plug in so if necessary I can swap the reivers between ants. The speed controller uses an Atmel ATMEGA44 processor and two Allegro A3949SLBT full bridge 2.8A speed controller chips.
