Heavyweight Base and Bulkhead Materials

Ive been trying to get a reasonable assessment of the weight of a new heavy Im designing.

Its a full pressure heavy with great big ram in it and Id been toying with a few ideas about what to use for a base material.

Hydra uses ali but is not necessarily subject to the same force that a full pressure ram will give out.

So, stregnth and rigidity moves me towards Hardox or similar dense material.

On the other hand, having something nwhich will flex like Ali or maybe even plastics may also be an idea.

What types of material are used in heavies for the bases.

Also what do people use for bulkheads for motor mountings Again Hydra uses ali which seems to work well.

Any ideas welcome.

instead of mounting to the base, mount it to a ali billet (solid single peice) what is welded or bolted between each bulkhead
