Digital Camcorders
Anyone Know if theres any half decent digital camcorders about that arnt too expensive. i dunno what specs im looking for in a camcorder. its just so i can record Drag racing at events. it will only be used like 10 times a year so i dont wanna spend 100s and 100s of pounds on one.
i found this. 12 mp sounds good to me but im used to using my phone with a huge 2mp camera. all these other numbers confuse me.

Biggest bit of advice I can give you is to not buy on ebay. There is a reason they are so cheap. Cant even see the make of that camera. Will probably break down after a few events etc. The old phrase you get what you pay for still applies today.

You can get some good bargains on Ebay, but as gary said you gets what you pays for always buy name brands.
A good digital camcorder will cost!!, be better buying a good SVHSc one and a decent computer interface. not quite as convenient, but better quality

Wouldnt bother with any Multifunctional device, they dont do anything well, if you want a digital Camcorder, buy one of the cheap ones at Jessops, the do useable mini DV ones from about £150.00.
None of the ones that take Card Memory are any good, just toys really, there are some Phones now that will give you as good quality.

Tom,
A quick 2 minute search came up with this one,
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/377660/SONY-DCR-HC27/tab/specificationhttp://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro.../specification
Its sony so you know the quality will be there. The figures that are important are the battery life (nearly 2 hours, not bad), the optical zoom (x20, cant see you needing more) and it has all the outputs you will need along with a touchscreen.
I am not recommending this model specifically but the majority of the numbers quoted for cameras are useless rubbish that you never use.
I would advise you to pick a few models in your price range and then search for reviews on google.
