Hydra
Hi Everyone
Hydra is alive and well but as some of you may have noticed, we have not been at any events for some time. With me it has been a very busy time at work over the last couple of years and Andrew has grown up somewhat and is now at University.
We will soon be moving to a smaller house and I am looking to sell Hydra to a good home so it could be further developed and used. Hydra is in the same format and condition as it was for RW Series 7 with the CO2 flipper and hammer/axe. Although the pneumatics have not been used for for a while, I have kept the NICADs in good condition charging and discharging occasionally and last year we went to a local fete and I made sure motors, speed controllers, wheels, tyres, chains etc were all OK. Once we have moved and settled in I hope to get back on the scene with a featherweight
I have put Hydras spec on the For Sale section with a link to a selection of photos.
Hope everyone is well
Regards
Dennis

Hydra
Hydra was one of my favourite robots at live events when I first started. Probably was the first heavy I ever saw at Kettering about 7 years ago. Someone should buy it, not me before you say, two heavies is enough for me, can fit anymore in the garage.

Hydra
It didnt suffer much damage from series 7 I presume, since the TV camera broke his fall. :)

Sad to see you selling Hydra Dennis - we were robbed of a win at Technogames in the footie way back Xmas 2002 - I cant believe it was that long ago.

Hi Trevor, Yes it seems like another planet back then. I really think the Beeb should have been shot for dropping Technogames. As well as being great fun for the adults who never had quite grown up, it certainly got a lot of the youngsters and schools interested in robots and the like. What robots do you have these days

We were robbed by Mr Foxwell after he declared Bugs (Hydra) moved before the whistle - and scored - when Andrew was only reacting to our opponents attacking the ball.
Hydra threw a chain and then the link, and Mighty Mouse lost a battery and we lost to a golden goal in extra time.
Dennis; I now have 4 machines, 2 heavies and 2 feathers - and a 16x8 shed to house them. I cant work out whether I am dedicted or just a sad old git. Get working on your feather, it is just as much fun and a lot cheaper - and easier to load in and out of the car! Believe it or not but Mighty Mouse is still going but I am starting to run out of motors. Mini Mighty Mouse is a feather version - with a flipper - and is the current UK champion.

Hi Dennis,
On the other hand, one cant say we were robbed in the first ever game of footie played on Technogames. Beaten fair and square by Bigger Brother and Bulldog. I agree with you that the Beeb should have been shot for dropping Technogames and hope they will come to their senses and bring it back or something similar.
