Hydraulic questions
Howdy all, im starting my very first heavyweight over in australia shortly of course being a hydraulic type crusher :)
at this stage i have an 18 stroke and 2 bore new double acting hydraulic ram and a massive pump and 24v motor from the back lift of a lorry. had to pay 20kg worth of courier cost to get it to me hah!
but a couple of quick questions. i will need a bladder to store fluid in the system and the products i can find seem to be hydraulic accumulator bladders which im aware are banned by your rule set. (why is that anyway? i thought because you need full hydraulic pressure in gas precharge to make the accumulator work properly and you are limited to 1000psi gas)
was thinking i could use one of these without the gas precharge and therefore not consider it an accumulator?
also what volume bladder would i need? i would think an equal volume to the cylinder itself. if i could converse with anyone over email on the matter perhaps this would be preferable? thank you all!

Glen ...Have a chat with Mario.
Re:- Bladder
They are contained IN accumulators ( Cut one up )....and you only need it to contain the excess system volume which ...... as I recall ...is the volume difference between the ram retract and extend ... plus a bit.

Hydraulic Calcs
A(area)= r2Pi= 1x1x3.142=3.142 square inch
a= A-a=? have not stated rod diameter
V= volume Ax stroke= 3.142x18= 56.56 cubic inches= .92ltr
A 1 ltr Hydac bladder(availible in Australia} will serve as a tank.
Just cut the end off carefully and make an adaptor to fit the 7/8 UNF thread.
Better calcs given if you give rod size and an idea of your circuit required.
