As the rules currently say no spinners, I was wondering if I would be allowed a robot that drills holes in its opponents, ie a drill bit sticking out of the front of the bot?. Also can anybody tell me if the Skysport 4 transmitter is ok or not. I realise it will not be the best about but will it do, or can anybody recommend a better one foe a similar price
The rules dont say that - the arena you compete in says that. If you compete in the likes of the Robo Challenge arena (next event in July) featherweight spinners are permitted in all forms. Otherwise still rotating but hardly lethal weapons are bound to be a contentious issue regarding their use in those lesser protective arenas.
I would advise you on getting a Spektrum DX6 transmitter/Rx (make sure its the failsafing model) even though Ive yet to get one myself due to lack of money. Ive used my Skysport 4 for four years now though and its been a great solution. isnt there a bit on the side for a charger to plug in? then you would be able to charge the batteries while they are still in there

Re Alex: You probably have a Futaba model? Im unsure as to whether the Technobots one has this, even then you need a suitable charger (most hobby chargers as used for charging your main bot batteries could be used if you get/make up a suitable plug lead, but then you cant charge both bot and Tx at the same time.

A set of individual rechargeable batteries whilst inside the transmitter is a pack.....attach a suitable charger to the transmitter jack plug and they charge as such.
My ancient Sanwa has individual re-chargable batteries in a removable battery holder ....So its also possible to remove the pack and recharge externally.
