Tank testing
i have just bought a new dry powder fire extingsher, what do i need to prove my dry powder bottle will be ok to use as a low pressure buffer tank. for the hosts (ie robot wars staff). or do i have to send the tanks away for testing, even if its a new tank..or will the bsen number count?

Tank testing
The certification for the cylinder will be stamped around the neck of the bottle.
It should include a date, standard and some other markings e.g. weights.

Tank testing
Your tank should have some official rating stamped or printed on it ........ I believe this will suffice for the Tech Check .........thats assuming the powder extinguishers pressure rating meets or exceeds the pressure your intend to use.

it says around the neck,
0.30kg,1.1l 2005 n2 ps 18.5 bar, ts - 30/+60 degrees c, gk
so would that mean that its tested at 18.5 bar, also on the back of the fire extinguisher, it says propellant 15bar nitrogen.
so would this mean that it would be ok to use as a 10bar buffer tank, (the stamp on the bottle neck is very faint, looks as if its been stamped before painted) and would pass a tech check.

Tank testing
maximum allowable pressure or PS means the maximum pressure for which the equipment is designed, as specified by the manufacturer,
maximum or minimum allowable temperature or TS means the maximum or minimum temperatures, as the case may be, for which the equipment is designed, as specified by the manufacturer.
N2 = Nitrogen
