OK, short story shorter, I got an e-mail from a friend regarding a rumour he heard that Robot Wars was coming back. Despite him having an account here, its fallen to me to find out if theres any truth in it. Yknow, what with me being an all knowing fount of knowledge to do with all things robotic and all:lame:
So anyway. Rumour. Id guess its a load of rubbish, and probably confused with the new series of Battlebots, but can anyone confirm this before I get back to him? Thanks:)

You remember Django ? The Dutch Tech ? Hes been at our camping site when the EC in Amsterdam was cancelled and he was talking about efforts to get Robot Wars going again, but in a different kind of format. Your friend might have been hearing something like that. If the rumour he heared involved a kind of travelling circus, thats spot on.
Dont get your hopes up. At this stage its an awful lot of talking and having bright ideas. Better stick with the current way... roboteers organising their own games and having a lot of fun at them. And dont expect television cameras.
After all, this is a hobby. A darn fun one though, smashing things up...

What the ? How old is that , is it like Seventh Wars news ? And if Robot Wrs is coming back wouldnt we have heard by now ?

I did wonder why RW would want some old slapper.
It does say signed up which sounds more concrete than lined up or whatever. Ah well, my middleweight goes to fight two heavies. I am forever an optimist.
I wonder if there may be some substance to the rumours as Mentorn do seem to be making a lot of money from the old series.
