Minature Co2 Regulators

Weve been looking for some small lightweight regulators to upgrade our featherweights to Co2.

One I found that looks very interesting is http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/online-catalog/stabilizer.htmhttp://www.palmer-pursuit.com/online...stabilizer.htm and it even says its compliant to combat robot safety regulations (allthough I guess this is the US rules). Its weight is 99g.

The Maximum inlet pressure is rated at 1500psi and will withstand 3000psi. Does this mean that you can get away without having a pressure releif valve as the burst disc is rated at less than this?

Is there any other lightweight regs out there and does anyone use this reg?

Kenny 1 kilogram is not light! 1kg is 1/12th of a featherweight. If you scale that up to compair with a heavyweight that is 8.33kg which is alot of weight.

Mark. These regulators look good however, can they take liquid without freezing? If they can they will have low flowrate, however this can be overcome with a buffer (and telling your brother to take it easy on the axe:)).

To me (a bit of an untrained eye but i do know a little) the inline looks to be good. It could be mounted where ever is suitable, i.e. the regulator could be supplied with hp gas via some copper pipe. This copper pipe could also be used as a cooling system in your robot (wrap it around the motors etc).

I believe youll find that under the present regulations the answer is ... NO ... A 1000 p.s.i. relief is still required.

Ian is correct .... Youll need a buffer.

Apparentley they can take liquid without damage, but they say if ice forms over the seals it can leak, Blue already has a buffer so no probs there. What is odd is that even though copper pipe is rated at those pressures they say they dont recommend it for Co2 use.

All we need now is a 1000psi relief valve :)

Depends on certin things Mark a proposal has been put forward that a 1000psi valve is only nessessary on FP systems. However you will definately need a 10/11bar blow off.

We already have 2 10 bar blowoff valves from technobots. I am trying to find out if anyone uses them, as it would give us more confidence if we knew it was already used.
