RC in RC out mixer
I have a mixer ( the one that Paul sells at Technobots ). It makes my Electronize controllers gives 60% power when I push the stick fully forward. It gives 100% when I push the stick forward and turn at the same time.
Can this be modified to give 100% power when I push my stick forwards? Should I build a mixer from scratch using one of the many guides on the net? Is there an ff the shelf unit that would suit this application better?

Look around for a GWS mixer, only 5g and they are 100% rate mixers, only about $30 brand new. Ask Andrew Welch where he got his from.

Phil,
Had this problem myself. We now use the v-tail mixer (around 13 pound), this seems to give 100% in all ways.

i had this problem with alpha, I tried one of the Ripmax ones and lost most of my power. So i went back to the GWS one. Also note that the futaba 6EXA transmitter does a similar thing.

My Hitec has inbuilt v-tail also. I would like to get a gyro however so I will need onboard mixing.
Does anyone have an oppinion about the worth of a normal gyro compared to a heading lock gyro? Is it worth paying three times the price for the heading lock?
Thanks

I think it was Geoff that said to me that Head locking gyros arent the best for robotcombat as in a situation were you are being pushed sidewards bye say Tornado...The gyro is trying to turn you into the way you are being pushed...A none head locking gyro means you can be pushed and move freely when you wish, Or be pushed and drive off.
